I love seeing all the different sides of the automotive industry coming together to help rob accomplish a very tough goal of getting a car ready for pike's peak, the support shows and we are all here to see you run up that mountain!
Tick is a great company and their parts are well thought out. Customer service is one of the best in the small space of manual transmissions. Well done Rob having them on your video!
Don't be man. Be happy for papa Dahm. Not like you could've used it properly even if you had it. Not unless you plan to do exactly what he's doing. Which is what... a fraction of a fraction of the car world. He's the nutty guy we all follow to see where the limit is.

Nice buy with the door handle. I like the way you think Rob. Especially when the workshop is very noisy. You're a problem solver Rob. Even the little things. i like that 👍
I've got a Tick TR6060 in my twin turbo Coyote powered '65 Mustang. Tick cam/valvetrain/clutch/hydraulic setup in my Gen V LT4 Aston Martin. Active Team Tick member as well. They've always been great to deal with, awesome company.
I really need to get involved into racing . So many of the techniques and thought processes behind them come so natural to me. Every time I watch one of these videos rob talks about something he’s learning to go faster or be faster and it’s something I’ve already been thinking in my head or doing on sim . Eye opening and makes me want to get serious

This is why I love this channel, I get to learn so much from it. Unfortunately I probably won’t ever be able to use this knowledge but none the less I have it 😂
I watched one Barry it self in my chest after an attempt of getting it off of me I literally never got the rest of it out ! Lime disease talk about worried. That was almost 16 or more years ago.
So cool to see a sequential going into the rx7 it deserves it after all these years, I can't wait to see the next big chunk of progress can be much metalwork left now! ❤
One day I’ll be able to work my way to being able to visit this shop, and take surely the most cherished photo of my natural life with none other than Rob Dahm’s bathroom’s incredible door handle.
Would be amazing if rob did a interview with nobuhiro tajima aka monster aka the man behind the escuda pikes peak ect and the first to go sub 10 on pikes before being completely paved. Watching his race videos going up pikes peak are insane. Makes you really appreciate how fast and how close to the edge these guys drive.
What maximum speed are you expecting to hit on the mountain? I've gone for pretty long (relatively) gearing in my sequential, but she won't be at PPIHC for another two years or so. Max out at ~170mph @8000rpm
27 days to finish building a very complicated build, dial it in mechanically, learn to drive it then take it to pikes peak and not crash. Yeah I'm not feeling great about this one Rob.
You guys should do a collaboration with Roadkill. They're going to recreate their Mazdarati (mid-engined '74 Mazda mini-truck) again and this time are contemplating putting a 4 rotor in it instead of the original v8. What a cool video series that would be.
I built the very first prototypes for ppg and and in partnership with one of the undisclosed 8 elite tremec reps about 8 years ago. Very cool to see where they are today, shit the ppg gear set alone was i think a little under 20,000... cool shit

Rob, for cooling, try looking up what Mercedes AMG F1 are doing with Reaction Engines. I think, if you could replicate what they're doing, it could lead to some major weight savings + performance gains over stock cooling methods.
If you have to ask the Price, You Probably can't afford it . I need overdrive in a street car. Staight gears are the way to go. All of my Trucks have Straight cut Eaton Transmissions 13 speeds 10 speeds ect
That hall effect VSS is pretty cool, I'll need to look into that. I wonder what sort of mad scientist stuff Rob is going to do with that strain gauge. Cool stuff.
i love the straight cut gears but the further you get from what i consider a "real" manual the more bummed i get haha, i think the human brain with a computerless non hydraulic manual can perform just as well because we can think ahead in ways a car cant, and predict optimal gears or sometimes intentionally using a different gear than the computer would pick in the moment for a long term gain. also i very often shift from 4-2 or 6-3, and sometimes intentionally dump the clutch to upset the rear for example, or i can carefully rev match with different intensities based on how much traction i predict the corner exit to have for example. just personal preference, i want to see your vision for this car!
Does anyone have any links or search terms I could use to research transverse-mount rotaries? In my dream garage there are a couple cars I'd like to rotary swap (AW11 MR2, CR-Z) and looking to crush my dreams with impossibilities lol I thought a CR-Z with a 13B with the IMA still functional might be quite interesting; using the IMA to aid in lower RPM accel and city mpg. My guess it is a project hell or maybe Rob would've considered putting a rotary in his Insight! ;)
I'm glad you're finally going to go to an air shifter. I know you talked about doing it years ago on the 4 rotor, so it's nice to see it finally happening.
I wonder when someone will create a whole electric servo mechanism for seq. shifters. I know pnuematic is popular, but no way it could be lighter or faster or more accurate than the right electric servos.
4 rotor withdrawals have been pretty bad over here. Nice to mainline a sequential driveline after going literally weeks without! Good luck to you all getting ready for Colorado!
Rob have you ever considered having rocket type fuel injected anti lag turbos, like the 2006 wrc cars that would launch at 2k rpm but full boost? Something like that at pikes peak would be a huge benefit no?
