- Somehow managed to take apart a TR6060 6 speed an put it all back together with some T56 Magnum components. This will allow us to use a standard shifter, driveshaft and transmission mount. We also install a brand new LS7 clutch, flywheel and related goodies. The drivetrain is ready for install!
I wouldn't have the nerve to do that trans shaft swap, but you gave me some hope 😊
Nice work. Transmission looks very intimidating. I bet it feels good to have it done.
Wow,! I give you credit, there is no way in hell I would have attempted that. I would have pulled out the credit card. Good job.
Awesome video, turned out nice!
lol shift forks messed me up too! Not because i couldnt get them all together, but because i drove the roll pin out for the alignment collar [so i can install the rod while the forks are installed] and i ended up putting the collar on upside down....... couldn't figure it out for 3 days...... had to remove a sealed bellhousing 4 times before i caught it..... talk about frustration, but now i know and like you said, these things will be a breeze to go through now. :D
Incredible job.
Great channel ! I wish I could build my trans am like this .
Wow! That just blew my mind. Great job.
I’m currently putting together a 67 Camaro it’s got the gen v lt4 with the ten speed automatic 12bolt posi body was chemical dipped all original panels no rust California car
Man thats nutz. Good for you. Just do it! Id have to have a GOOD manual to even think about attempting that build. Ive got a 6sp Hellcat with the 6060. Id like to faceplate it but i would have to send it in for sure
Schaeffler \ Luk is really good quality! They OE to every vehicle manufacture.
Dude that was amazing much respect
You don’t happen to have part numbers for the clutch and flywheel by chance?
Is there anything you can't do?? Amazing!
Best part 26:15 😂… Shows you have the same struggles and frustration as the rest of us sometimes
I have to ask Chris, what's with the use of the word "we?" Do you have an invisible assistant? 😉 You pretty much seem to be a one-man army to me. A tour de force if you will.
He's referred to himself using the royal "we" since a very early age.
@@marksullivan55 Ah, so he has an invisible friend. At least "they" get along. My invisible friend and I don't get along. 😉
Sweet video man! Is it ideal to use that bearing grease vice just lubricating the bearings with the transmission fluid you'll be running?
Also, I love those press tools you used towards the end pressing those gears on.
Great video. Takes guts to tear the guts out of that transmission. Will that clutch and flywheel setup fit my 2005 CTS-V LS6?
Yes it will
love this series !! had to subscribe, what was that book you had on floor at 7:03 ????
Where did you get the parts to do the t56 conversion? I scored a free tr6060 and want to do the same thing for my cobra.
Do you have any info on where the tr6060 came from? I sourced one from a 2014 hellcat and need to adapt it to my gen3 6.0 h.o. Looks like the bell housing isnt integrated into the rest of the case
Any way you could list the individual parts for the conversion? I'm looking to piece a kit together...IT WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!! THANK YOU
the kit is EXTREMELY difficult to locate. I struggled to find mine and i paid close to $1000 for it...... so tr6060 for $1400 and conversion kit for $1000, already into the trans for $2400 and you still have to do exactly what he did in the video, plus youll need a shim kit....... probably better off purchasing a t56 magnum
@@speedhouse3147 I have a camaro tr6060 already.
@@LT4Nova you just have to search for the conversion kits. I've yet to find one either and I've been looking for a while now.
Hey Chris, we just picked up a LS3 but has auto trans. We are wanting a manual. I noticed in the video the 6060 to T56 rear. The question i have is did you do this to avoid the cost of just getting a T56 trans? I'm wondering if we should just buy a T56?
That was so fucking cool
Have you had any issues with that bit of wear on your input shaft from a pilot bearing? I did this exact same mod to a tr6060, only to realize after assembly that the input shaft was worn down too far from a pilot bearing in a past life. So i get to tear it down again lol
None!
How much power are you putting through this clutch and how is the feel. I can looking at this clutch set up at rockauto
Where did you get the kit to do it? I have a tr6060 now.
Rockauto's price for my flywheel is $1000
Where did get the the conversion kit
What did that setup cost all parts included
Who did you have tune the holley terminator x for you?
Holley lol
@@ChrisSullivan69 you didn't use a tuner for the base tune? I've heard a lot of people have issues
