I love the inclusion of Memoryheads, they've always been so mysterious and interesting, and tying them to the original UNDERTALE timeline is fascinating. With Mettaton remembering/getting infused with memories from the original timeline, the "I would never do that to Blooky" quote makes alot of sense considering how he left them behind all alone after getting his body. I also love how Mettaton's face glitches into the Mettaton's face from the original timeline, albeit very glitchy and distorted, its so cool and symbolic! Edit: I'm pretty sure I can hear some parts of "Death by Glamour", further referencing Mettaton from the original timeline, I love it!
I just realized all the memoryheads are made up of the parts of the monsters from UT: The one on the far left has Papyrus’ arm and Monster Kids eye, the one next to that has Sans’ bad time eye and Mettaton EX’s leg, the one on the other side of Metta has Undyne’s face which glitches into view sometimes, and the one to the far right has one of Omega Flowey’s eye, the bottom part of either Toriel or Asriels face, and 2 of Asriels Chaos Sabers.
what's strange, is that you can see susie's jaw in one of the memoryheads. very strange. Maybe with deltarune being "part" of the OG Undertale timeline, they got added to the heads as well.
i love how the memoryheads look like amalgams of characters from the original Undertale timeline, and their voices are just the character's voices mixed and pitched their dialogue is also from undertale. maybe they contain the previous memories of the old timeline. fitting for a memoryhead i guess the ending dialogue kinda confirms this...? should have watched the entire thing before commenting lol

This is probably my favourite undertale fan comic, each time a new chapter is out i feel so excited, i bet this one will be as amazing as each chapter so far

the memoryheads interestingly seem to have features from some characters of undertale - memoryhead A seems to have papyrus' arm as its tail and the nice cream salesman's head attached (thanks HEHEHE I AM A SUPAHSTAR WARRIA) - memoryhead B has sans' eye, mettaton ex's leg as its tail, the gloveless arm of the unused rg03 from undertale (thanks Audrey Cardin) and what appears to be susie's mouth when baring her teeth (thanks Ter157ian) - memoryhead C has the faces of undyne, gaster (thanks again Ter157ian) and what appears to be a sideways facing sans with his mouth open/lower teeth missing (thanks Juan Carlos Sanchez) - memoryhead D has omega flowey's eye colour, asriel/toriel's mouth and a part of asriel's swords(?) as its wings i'm unsure what this could mean for the character's of the original undertale, but it seems to entail something far larger, as not only do the memoryheads share features with characters of the original undertale, but a whole lot of the dialogue used by them is also ripped straight from undertale, with several symbols bunched in to create a glitchy appearance overall, very nice job on this edit: added other features suggested by replies
Memoryhead B seems to have Temmie...Spamton's hair and Susie's mouth. Deltarune seems to have interference in these memory heads. Also, C has the mysterious man's face (Or who is presumed, Gaster.)
Everything is best about Inverted Fate, I must say! ...Including how well these things can interfere. And oh, I am not the only one who noticed Deltarune interferences?
Ok so I've got a lot to say about this video. First of all, this is an amazing idea for the Memoryheads. Considering how they were in Undertale, having possible connections to Gaster and seeming to retain odd memories of him, similar to the goners, in IF they retain the memories of the previous timeline! And once they reach a machine, another odd but key thing about them in Undertale, they're able to channel that all through him. Poor Mettaton, forced to face his old, selfish and arrogant person, who never even saw the light of day due to Asriel's takeover. There's so many possibilities to what this could lead to I love it. But then the detail, holy cungadero the detail! Though they still have the general memoryhead shape, you can see in the memoryhead's sprites, once Frisk is able to reveal them with their phone, the pieces of the past they hold onto: The one on the left seems to have Papyrus's arm and the Nice Cream Guy's head, mid-left has Sans's glowing eye and Mettaton's leg, the mid-right has Undyne's melting face, and rightmost one has Omega Flowey's eye. When they talk, their voices are a mix of random blips from the other characters, and the right-most one with Omega Flowey's eye seems to almost exclusively quote UT Flowey. I haven't been able to find a trend in the other's speech as of yet, but I found that one interesting. Then there's Mettaton himself, his music distorted with what I think is the same effect as So Cold! His dialogue while controlled is a glitchy mix of his own, and quotes from UT Mettaton. When Frisk poses he even says it's a good pose but it needs something more. While he's saying these things, his head seems to glitch in UT Mettaton's head as well, and he even half-heartedly does some of UT Mettaton's poses- truly possessed. Finally the attacks, the whole idea of shooting at Mettaton's heart being from UT yes, but this time you have to defend it from the Memoryheads. Meanwhile, his own heart attacks, while the Memoryheads encouraged it, sending first some of UT Mettaton's attacks, then other attacks stolen from Undertale, at the same time glitching out their sprites. This fight goes beyond and amalgam, it truly is a messed up glitchfest of parts of Undertale that they carried through, attaching itself to Mettaton and using him as a vessel. Also one quick thing, I love how Alphys in her panic references some flavor text during Spamton's fight here: 4:00 And then Mettaton refers to himself as being used as being used as a puppet during the fight here: 9:56. Coincidence? I think not! Thank goodness the after-fight is a bit more light-hearted, with everyone (but mostly Mew Mew) adding a bit of comic relief. I love the return of "soon-dairy", Papyrus saying the memoryheads could be from another dimension, Mew Mew pretending to be all high and mighty so she doesn't have to admit she was worried for Mettaton, and Mettaton wanting a "union regulated break" (though I do find it interesting that he references an UT line that closely after all that...) But uggh this fight made me shiver! Thankfully, Alphys and Papyrus just had to be themselves to save him, shielding him, and letting Alphys nerd out. That timeline's no longer here, Mettaton... but it did happen, and despite his denial, I don't think it'll be long before he realizes... especially with a certain weed planning his takeover.
Also, the mid left one has a weird “mouth” thing that reminds me of Susie from deltarune, and the one on the right most seems to have the swords that asriel uses in the asriel UT fight, as well as a mouth that looks like it’s from one of the members of the Dreemurr family
I can't be the only one screaming at the screen for them to notice any of the many warning bells about Flowey. Hell, Frisk even see's what flowey did in the last timeline, albeit jumbled up, but that should at least add some suspicion
The TV stuff was way too fast and indecipherable for them to really make sense of it. And to their credit, Flowey has been overall helpful and benevolent. That combined with how he handled Toriel means that it's very hard for Frisk to wanna consider Flowey a bad person, which is not fantastic but it is what it is.
Only we the viewer got a good look at the images because we had the benefit of a looping gif for the characters it was literally a blink and you'll miss moment
Happy sorta-anniversary! Didn't expect something to happen so soon, but it looks good already! Calling it now, this has to do with the Memoryheads. (Really, after the secret pages and everything it seems a bit obvious) Edit: Since that prediction was easy, how about something a little *less* obvious? Not sure how long it'll be until the gang finds Undyne, but she's either taking out her frustrations in a similar way to at the entrance, or trying to go utilize the *other* plan.. ("There's a strong... something in my soul.")
I think the ending explains alot of weird stuff that mettaton do like posing and the knifes changing into legs cus the amalgamates are remaining mettaton about the original timeline,the wings also looks like scribbles cus the original didint have any wings so Mtt dosent remember how to use it Edit: speaking about the knife it also looks glitched due to the original not having one
Especially compared to the other Halloween uploads, this/those really were scary! It was odd the heads weren't identical, but don't think we didn't notice their details. Hmm.. how long have you been planning this out? GASTOS makes it clear you weren't sure about your writing for this section until much closer to it, but everything about this battle fits together *very* well, from using the best changed character to yellow mode to the only circumstances (robotics) where attack parallels would really make sense. That ending was a little too ridiculous, but everything else?.. This wasn't quite part of the video, but about Mew: If Undyne already had Mew Mew robots, would that mean creating one for the Mad Ghoul was a bit of an afterthought? Your explanation for her split move was excellently tied into the plot! However, should that mean something for another mode too? (Personally doubt it, but it is a lot of attention)
@@Dorked 17 very much did, among some.... other things. I was more considering how close some of the dialogue runs up on the pages. Some of the others, especially the second half of 12, get very close to matching her logs. Add that to the fact you posted about starting scripts just this August, and it might make sense they're so close. On the other hand now that I'm reconsidering, perhaps you were just really excited to get to this? Oh, and on the topic, pretty sure 63 has two typos, if you're worried about that sort of thing

I would say he kinda does, mostly doesn't. After all, it was most likely scrambled (due to Memoryhead's usual glitched properties), but still remembers key moments like Alphys being the Royal Scientist
Okay this was incredible, between the amalgamates having some parts of the old timeline's sprite, like Sans and Photoshop Flowey's eyes, undyne's melting face, payprus's arm, mtt's legs and more... Speaking of the legs, seing IF mtt being sort of merged with UT mtt is incredible too, as well as the videos from the chapter before (55 and 56 i think) showing some parts of UT's story, those details tying the original timeline with the new one is well... Very Very Interesting.

Nah, the memoryheads are different from the mechamalgamates. I see them as wholly different entities. Idk how much you've read of the true lab arc, but there's a lot of context missing from this video (invertedfate.com/chapters). The reason they were able to mess w/ MTT this hard is because of his robot body.
With the 3 to 4 mentions to "Suzy", and seeing her at the Resort, AND the Angel text, this makes me think this is somehow related to Deltarune? But how, everything seemed fine with Suzy, I just thought it was a funny cameo...
So...we're adding Delta Rune to the mix. Are you sure that's a wise idea? Considering how Toby has only released 2 chapters so far and we know next to NOTHING about where the story is going, but everyone already seems to be formulating all sorts of crazy theories, as if they knew better than the developers themselves. Anyway, suit yourself. It's your creation. But I would wait until at least chapters 3 to 5 are released, to be sure my "theories" about DR are right or at least compatible with what the developers TRULY planned for the game.
I know that it has been 2 years or more since this existed, I have seen things at minute 8:49 that make me curious, when defeating the unknown amalgams, they mention the angel, how it comes from, how this is a bad dream and that it is the protagonist's fault, you can really see the inspiration in deltarune, although I can't remember if this existed before deltarune or not. Even so, I see this with great curiosity.
I like how this AU expanded upon Mettaton. No offense to Undertale or Undertale fans but that is something that the original game did wrong in my opinion. After going through two levels where Mettaton is the main boss and after defeating him in the Core he is pushed to the side after that. He was pretty much a joke character who only had two emotional moments one of which can only be seen in a certain route. He was definitely done dirty in the Genocide route. No wonder why Mettaton Neo was expanded upon in Deltarune. The same can be said for Mad Dummy too. It's cool that this AU took those as an advantage.
Spoilers. And me putting my thoughts in text form. . . . Considering how many aspects of Undertale characters these Memoryheads have... And the memories they showed MT. Yeah they have to be the residue from the timeline shenanigans. ESPECIALLY with D's Asriel sword wings. Gotta wonder what would have happened to those Memoryheads if Mad Mew Mew got to them. Would they split into their respective characters? What a shock that would be. But maaan am I glad Mettaton wasn't permanently disfigured after that. It really did look like he got amalgamated. again.
They contain shreds of abandoned timelines. MTT looking semi-amalgamated is also a consequence of that. Undyne might have been MIA, but the memory of that moment was drawn upon all the same.

double edit: very interestingly, the "gaster blasters" at 7:07 are mixed with, of all things, _deltarune susie's attack sprites_ (the little effect that appears on an enemy when you attack it)... i know it's probably not important, but i can't help but wonder if it is (or even how it could be)

the memoryheads interestingly seem to have features from some characters of undertale
- memoryhead A seems to have papyrus' arm as its tail and the nice cream salesman's head attached (thanks HEHEHE I AM A SUPAHSTAR WARRIA)
- memoryhead B has sans' eye, mettaton ex's leg as its tail, the gloveless arm of the unused rg03 from undertale (thanks Audrey Cardin) and what appears to be susie's mouth when baring her teeth (thanks Ter157ian)
- memoryhead C has the faces of undyne, gaster (thanks again Ter157ian) and what appears to be a sideways facing sans with his mouth open/lower teeth missing (thanks Juan Carlos Sanchez)
- memoryhead D has omega flowey's eye colour, asriel/toriel's mouth and a part of asriel's swords(?) as its wings
i'm unsure what this could mean for the character's of the original undertale, but it seems to entail something far larger, as not only do the memoryheads share features with characters of the original undertale, but a whole lot of the dialogue used by them is also ripped straight from undertale, with several symbols bunched in to create a glitchy appearance
overall, very nice job on this

Also, C has the mysterious man's face (Or who is presumed, Gaster.)

Ok so I've got a lot to say about this video.
First of all, this is an amazing idea for the Memoryheads. Considering how they were in Undertale, having possible connections to Gaster and seeming to retain odd memories of him, similar to the goners, in IF they retain the memories of the previous timeline! And once they reach a machine, another odd but key thing about them in Undertale, they're able to channel that all through him. Poor Mettaton, forced to face his old, selfish and arrogant person, who never even saw the light of day due to Asriel's takeover. There's so many possibilities to what this could lead to I love it.
But then the detail, holy cungadero the detail! Though they still have the general memoryhead shape, you can see in the memoryhead's sprites, once Frisk is able to reveal them with their phone, the pieces of the past they hold onto: The one on the left seems to have Papyrus's arm and the Nice Cream Guy's head, mid-left has Sans's glowing eye and Mettaton's leg, the mid-right has Undyne's melting face, and rightmost one has Omega Flowey's eye. When they talk, their voices are a mix of random blips from the other characters, and the right-most one with Omega Flowey's eye seems to almost exclusively quote UT Flowey. I haven't been able to find a trend in the other's speech as of yet, but I found that one interesting.
Then there's Mettaton himself, his music distorted with what I think is the same effect as So Cold! His dialogue while controlled is a glitchy mix of his own, and quotes from UT Mettaton. When Frisk poses he even says it's a good pose but it needs something more. While he's saying these things, his head seems to glitch in UT Mettaton's head as well, and he even half-heartedly does some of UT Mettaton's poses- truly possessed.
Finally the attacks, the whole idea of shooting at Mettaton's heart being from UT yes, but this time you have to defend it from the Memoryheads. Meanwhile, his own heart attacks, while the Memoryheads encouraged it, sending first some of UT Mettaton's attacks, then other attacks stolen from Undertale, at the same time glitching out their sprites. This fight goes beyond and amalgam, it truly is a messed up glitchfest of parts of Undertale that they carried through, attaching itself to Mettaton and using him as a vessel.
Also one quick thing, I love how Alphys in her panic references some flavor text during Spamton's fight here: 4:00 And then Mettaton refers to himself as being used as being used as a puppet during the fight here: 9:56. Coincidence? I think not!
Thank goodness the after-fight is a bit more light-hearted, with everyone (but mostly Mew Mew) adding a bit of comic relief. I love the return of "soon-dairy", Papyrus saying the memoryheads could be from another dimension, Mew Mew pretending to be all high and mighty so she doesn't have to admit she was worried for Mettaton, and Mettaton wanting a "union regulated break" (though I do find it interesting that he references an UT line that closely after all that...)
But uggh this fight made me shiver! Thankfully, Alphys and Papyrus just had to be themselves to save him, shielding him, and letting Alphys nerd out. That timeline's no longer here, Mettaton... but it did happen, and despite his denial, I don't think it'll be long before he realizes... especially with a certain weed planning his takeover.
Also, the mid left one has a weird “mouth” thing that reminds me of Susie from deltarune, and the one on the right most seems to have the swords that asriel uses in the asriel UT fight, as well as a mouth that looks like it’s from one of the members of the Dreemurr family

I can't be the only one screaming at the screen for them to notice any of the many warning bells about Flowey. Hell, Frisk even see's what flowey did in the last timeline, albeit jumbled up, but that should at least add some suspicion
The TV stuff was way too fast and indecipherable for them to really make sense of it. And to their credit, Flowey has been overall helpful and benevolent. That combined with how he handled Toriel means that it's very hard for Frisk to wanna consider Flowey a bad person, which is not fantastic but it is what it is.
Only we the viewer got a good look at the images because we had the benefit of a looping gif for the characters it was literally a blink and you'll miss moment
Is anyone gonna admire how cool the memoryheads look? It even kinda ties to the original Undertale AU!

Happy sorta-anniversary! Didn't expect something to happen so soon, but it looks good already! Calling it now, this has to do with the Memoryheads. (Really, after the secret pages and everything it seems a bit obvious)
Edit: Since that prediction was easy, how about something a little *less* obvious? Not sure how long it'll be until the gang finds Undyne, but she's either taking out her frustrations in a similar way to at the entrance, or trying to go utilize the *other* plan.. ("There's a strong... something in my soul.")

I think the ending explains alot of weird stuff that mettaton do like posing and the knifes changing into legs cus the amalgamates are remaining mettaton about the original timeline,the wings also looks like scribbles cus the original didint have any wings so Mtt dosent remember how to use it

Especially compared to the other Halloween uploads, this/those really were scary! It was odd the heads weren't identical, but don't think we didn't notice their details.
Hmm.. how long have you been planning this out? GASTOS makes it clear you weren't sure about your writing for this section until much closer to it, but everything about this battle fits together *very* well, from using the best changed character to yellow mode to the only circumstances (robotics) where attack parallels would really make sense. That ending was a little too ridiculous, but everything else?..

If Undyne already had Mew Mew robots, would that mean creating one for the Mad Ghoul was a bit of an afterthought?
Your explanation for her split move was excellently tied into the plot! However, should that mean something for another mode too? (Personally doubt it, but it is a lot of attention)

@@Dorked 17 very much did, among some.... other things. I was more considering how close some of the dialogue runs up on the pages. Some of the others, especially the second half of 12, get very close to matching her logs. Add that to the fact you posted about starting scripts just this August, and it might make sense they're so close. On the other hand now that I'm reconsidering, perhaps you were just really excited to get to this?

I would say he kinda does, mostly doesn't. After all, it was most likely scrambled (due to Memoryhead's usual glitched properties), but still remembers key moments like Alphys being the Royal Scientist

Okay this was incredible, between the amalgamates having some parts of the old timeline's sprite, like Sans and Photoshop Flowey's eyes, undyne's melting face, payprus's arm, mtt's legs and more...
Speaking of the legs, seing IF mtt being sort of merged with UT mtt is incredible too, as well as the videos from the chapter before (55 and 56 i think) showing some parts of UT's story, those details tying the original timeline with the new one is well...

So. I recently no-hitted this. No spoilers or password reveals, but what was said was interesting. I think one thing he said will be important during Asriel's battle.
I just noticed that the memory heads have some facial features of other characters. For example, B has Sans’s eye. C has undyne’s melting face, A has papyrus’s hand and D has floweys, omega form Eye and the chaos saber wings
Now this is a really unique battle.

Nah, the memoryheads are different from the mechamalgamates. I see them as wholly different entities. Idk how much you've read of the true lab arc, but there's a lot of context missing from this video (invertedfate.com/chapters). The reason they were able to mess w/ MTT this hard is because of his robot body.

Are you sure that's a wise idea? Considering how Toby has only released 2 chapters so far and we know next to NOTHING about where the story is going, but everyone already seems to be formulating all sorts of crazy theories, as if they knew better than the developers themselves.
Anyway, suit yourself. It's your creation. But I would wait until at least chapters 3 to 5 are released, to be sure my "theories" about DR are right or at least compatible with what the developers TRULY planned for the game.
This was planned years before Deltarune chapter 2. Any references to it in the text are just that- references. Little easter eggs.

I know that it has been 2 years or more since this existed, I have seen things at minute 8:49 that make me curious, when defeating the unknown amalgams, they mention the angel, how it comes from, how this is a bad dream and that it is the protagonist's fault, you can really see the inspiration in deltarune, although I can't remember if this existed before deltarune or not. Even so, I see this with great curiosity.
I like how this AU expanded upon Mettaton.
No offense to Undertale or Undertale fans but that is something that the original game did wrong in my opinion.
After going through two levels where Mettaton is the main boss and after defeating him in the Core he is pushed to the side after that. He was pretty much a joke character who only had two emotional moments one of which can only be seen in a certain route. He was definitely done dirty in the Genocide route. No wonder why Mettaton Neo was expanded upon in Deltarune. The same can be said for Mad Dummy too.
It's cool that this AU took those as an advantage.

Gotta wonder what would have happened to those Memoryheads if Mad Mew Mew got to them. Would they split into their respective characters? What a shock that would be.
But maaan am I glad Mettaton wasn't permanently disfigured after that. It really did look like he got amalgamated. again.
They contain shreds of abandoned timelines. MTT looking semi-amalgamated is also a consequence of that. Undyne might have been MIA, but the memory of that moment was drawn upon all the same.
Can't wait for the main story to be done since it's so close.
It's actually not very close at all. :O There's a lot of stuff coming after true lab that wasn't in UT. Still, closer than we've ever been!
