Now if you could only make a full software/configuration tutorial on this 😂🤣 just an idea... make it a 3 part series or something idk 😬😀 thanks for the awesome videos, i remember when it was only rpi image videos 😂🤣
I'd vote for that as well. How to get Big Box set up, best practices for emulators, art, videos, etc. with links to sign up (where applicable and legal), etc.
I like watching videos like this but can't afford to do everything myself even though I do have the time to put it together. Got a new career that's about to kick off which means more money to do this on the side whenever I get the chance to some day soon. Thanks for the video and hopefully one day I can send you a video on what I've customized on my arcade set up.
one way that you can encourage yourself to not always play the same games is by using smart playlists. in Launchbox, i've created a playlist called "play these" that shows every game with an user rating higher than 3.5/5, that's not marked as a favourite and with a play count less than two. that way i can quickly see what games are loved by the gaming community that i haven't tried yet.
I am finishing mine up, it is custom cabinet and I wanted to be able to run good shaders in 4K so I settled on a Optiplex 3010 and a Nvidia 1050. Works!
I've been using net top/ bookshelf PC's in arcade builds with very little trouble. Even use one for my Virtual pinball cab. Also have full-size recroom masters cab. I don't think you will disappointed!!!
Using the VESA mount for inside the cab is a neat idea. You could mount it next to the coin door, so that all you'd need to do gain access to it's front panel is to open the coin door. With a bit of fidgeting you could probably get the entire machine to come out the coin door to be able to do internal maintence.
A few months ago I replaced the i5 6400 2.7Ghz from my PC with an Intel i7 7700K and I didn't know what I was going to do with the i5, until I saw your video. So I ordered the ASRock Deskmini 110W, with 8GB of 2400 RAM and I will installing the i5 6400, with a noctua low profile heatsink and a Western Digital 500GB M.2 and probably I will be installing Ubuntu and it is going to replace the raspberry Pi inside my Bartop arcage box.
As soon as you reviewed the deskmini I though that would be great in my arcade cab, you even chose the same CPU I was gonna go for. And you beat me to it!! Still waiting for availability in the UK. Nice Build!
That's tough because you're then involving a Light Gun controller which is hard to get working with a computer, and you also need a CRT Monitor/TV. It's another thing if you just want to use a mouse, but it's not a great experience.
Awesome and informative! Thanks for always making great content this is my favorite RUclips channel every time I get the notification it feels like my favorite T.V. Show is about to come on.
Just got this build with an upgrade to the Ryzen 3 and 16 GB of 2933 ram. Think this could handle PS2 or even your fav PSP God of War? Going to go with Big Box on my build. Keep up the great stuff ETA Prime!!!
For your Wii fighting games list.. these all are great and work with an arcade stick setup: Tatsunoko VS Capcom Naruto: clash of ninja shippuden 3 Dragonball Z budakai tenkaichi 3 Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Tournament of Legends
I would love to see a video with a arcade machine and tekno parrot that included setup and minimim hardware needed to run it. Games that performed well. Would be nice to see something newer and more fresh.... I have wanted to add another custom machine to my game room for awhile.
It's easier then you think. You only have 2 issues. 1.... Your Mame may not be compatible with the game. Use another version, or 2. You missing chd files. Find your killer instinct rom. Extract it. Now you have an opened folder named killer instinct. So.....you have your normal rom and you have an opened rom. Google for the killer instinct chd files. Extract the chd files......then place them inside that opened killer instinct folder. Simple.
The Adafruit Neopixel RGB’s would look killer for the arcade buttons! Don’t know how hard it would be to add them, but I’d love to see it done by someone or do it myself one day haha
This would be my choice of arcade but u can guarantee I would run into a problem that I can't solve (probably many) and I'm then stuck. U need to have a step by step guide on how to build the whole thing. Hek I would even pay to watch it.

I have had a 22" Xtension Arcade cabinet since 2011. (Discontinued now) www.recroommasters.com/x-arcade-p/rm-xt-arc-t.htm Wife bought it for me when I got my X-Arcade Tankstick. The cabinet and controller are as solid today as they were coming out of the box. I absolutely love both. My arcade has survived 3 different moves and even when I finally moved into my house the unit has moved a half dozen times upstairs/downstairs/back up/etc. SOLID arcade. The PC has been upgraded a lot but the cabinet has remained the same. Good choice. :)
Honestly... If it's for an arcade machine, not sure if I get the point of spending extra for the small form factor... Or even a case at all. Why not just salvage a cheap PSU, and buy a $55 B350 mobo and toss that in there and save the $95... it'll take up a little bit more room, but not much, and you'll be able to upgrade the GPU down the road...
@Brad Viviviyal he's already done videos showing that an ext GPU enables more modern games on a similar setup. And it wouldn't be messier, just manage your cables. It'd be cheaper and easier to maintain, probably cool better, and be more elegant... Just seems like a huge waste of a very pricey enclosure. Like yo dawg, I heard you like cases, so I put a case in your case so... that you could spend another $100 for no reason...
Will this run steam for street fighter 5 . I’d like something like this for my vewlix Japanese sit down arcade. Or I’ll just wait for an hdmi switcher and the steam deck .
ETA PRIME, how are you powering the system on and off? if i have this set agaisnt a wall not sure what would be best way to turn it on n off without going to back each time
There is zero reason to have a case if you are putting the PC into the cabinet. Just get some plastic spacers and use normal screws that are long enough. Save yourself $150.
The hdmi marquee sounds sweet def make a video on that plz :)

did you have to remove anything from the tv to install in into the box? as far as the bezel or casing.
Will yu have a tutorial for this build?
you going to make a tutorial for this PC build like you did for arcade1up?
How well does this build work with games such as Time Crisis 2, golden eye N64?
Like yo dawg, I heard you like cases, so I put a case in your case so... that you could spend another $100 for no reason...
agreed
I know this video is old, but do you know if this build is strong enough to run shooters like Time Crisis 3 or Terminatior Salvation?
Does the ASRock DESKMINI X300W Barebone also work? Newegg is out of stock
Will this run steam for street fighter 5 . I’d like something like this for my vewlix Japanese sit down arcade. Or I’ll just wait for an hdmi switcher and the steam deck .
I have an arcade pc of Dell Optiplex. Since they run hot, should I activate fan override in the bios?
Can that system play indie games like Broforce and Hotline Miami?
ETA PRIME, how are you powering the system on and off? if i have this set agaisnt a wall not sure what would be best way to turn it on n off without going to back each time
There is zero reason to have a case if you are putting the PC into the cabinet. Just get some plastic spacers and use normal screws that are long enough. Save yourself $150.
how did you set up the PC to open BigBox automatically?
So how you turn on the pc? you go to the back of the arcade and click it xD? or you have a button or something in the arcade but on the front part?
