I just ordered this bird today. Is it really necessary with flaperons when the plane is such a slow flyer? I have 2 extra Aileron servos (9 grams) from a Conschendo Evo. Would I be able to use those if I decide to add flaperons? I'm using a Spektrum nx6, upgraded to 14 channels, so that should work. Also, do I need to unlock the receiver to add flaperons? Thanks in advance.
The first thing you have to do is hook up esc to computer and clear out stock codes then you have to rebind and do new setup to make it work and also change the setting from 1 aileron to 2. Many vids out on home to do it. Brian Phillips has one.
If you swap your batt and ESC locations it will fly slower, have better weight distribution, and more accurate CG.
Thanks will try it.
How about moving the ESC and battery locations like they mentioned for better 3D type flying?
Going to try it
I did this and like the plane much more now. Battery front just puts too much weight up front, more so if you've opted for a larger lipo.

You are correct on this plane no need for the flaperons just fun to try new things.
Hi mate did you have to change any other settings for the as3x to still work or just change from 1 alieron to 2? In the remote control?
