5-10 years ago, and after years of working hard to raise my credit score, something shady was done to my score. My credit score approached the 680 mark to get me to "good credit". Just before my credit was set to go up the nest 10-20 point and cross that line, one agency (Experian I think) listed a deduction of over -200 points. I think it was closer to -250. I was shocked as I had NOTHING negative in my report. No outstanding debts. No past bankruptcies. Nothing. So they dropped my score by this crazy amount with no explanation. No description or reason why either. I disputed this within the short dispute window. They said they were wrong and added only 70 points back. And because they took so long I could not dispute the issue anymore. They said It was outside the dispute deadline. I was furious and have not been able to get my credit score back to that level since. What can anyone do when this happens? They have a monopoly on this credit score. And we as people have absolutely no way fight back against them when they do anything shady like this.
You don’t have a right to any particular credit score. You do have a right to ensure that all your reporting is complete, accurate, and timely. There are also many well-known factors in improving a credit score, especially with no negatives. Mix of credit, age of credit, and utilization. Check on those first. Then pull your credit report and make sure everything is accurate, timely, and complete.
If you have a Judgment look at your check stubs year to year and its over the claimed amount why is the interest larger it this where they hide the purchase price of the junk loan debit bought? How can you get the court to charge them for false misleading claims of being an agent not the owner of the debit?
If they are overcharging, or making false claims in the connection with the collection of the debt, that is illegal, and you can sue them for up to $1,000.
Can you make a video on what's going on with Transunion right now? They are sending letters saying they don't believe the disputes are coming from the consumer or a properly authorized third party
You just watched it. The CFPB report says that all of the credit bureaus are doing the same thing, and have all been making up reasons to ignore disputes. Something like 2% of disputes are getting relief for the consumers.
I have made 4 reports of inaccurate accounts on my experian credit report each time I submit on a sat night and Sunday morning or Monday morning it comes back saying verified as if someone just clicked a button and did not truly investigate and recieve proof back an account belongs to me
They make it SO easy for you to "dispute" by clicking buttons on a web site-did you think they were doing that for your benefit? If you're going to dispute a credit item, you need to put it in writing, put it in the mail, and make sure to ask for the green-card proof of delivery. (Certified mail). And if they don't investigate, you can sue them for damages caused by their violation.
really enjoying the videos! The question, I disputed hard inquiries on my credit report, and Transunion sent me a letter basically telling me to pound sand and they wouldn't do anything about it. Can I use them? I live in southeastern WA
I'm kind of in a pickle here. Just had this random collections pop up out of nowhere on my report a few months ago. No clue who the company is, or what they are all about. I disputed with TransUnion, and they took it off right away. Experian, can't even file my dispute online. And Equifax, I disputed twice and both times they came back with a verified response. The first time, they came back in a matter of hours. I thought there was no way in hell they did it so quickly. So the second dispute, they took a few days, most likely to make it look like they did something. Now, I say I'm in a pickle because I am torn if a $75 amount is even worth the headache to sue for. In addition, it says my first delinquency was 5 years ago. So I'm not sure if I should just wait until it drops off on it's own. My understanding is that collection accounts are deleted seven years from the original delinquency date of the original account. The thing that angers me most is that I have very good credit, and I took a major hit thanks to this mystery collection account popping up out of nowhere.
wrong account on my credit report from the creditor ( Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion); I have 2 accounts that are been reported by the creditor's wrong account number.
I filed a dispute. The company didnt credit what I was paying to the amount owed. I uploaded proof I was paying and disputed with transunion and equifax. they still didnt fix it. wtf man?
If the debt collector is reporting a false amount, you can sue them and maybe sue the credit bureaus for failing to investigate. Contact us and we can help you figure out a way to fix the false debt collection.
Can a consumer take a Credit Bureau to court by themselves? Or is an attorney needed? I have a 30-day past due on my report that I have credit card statements and bank statements that PROVE I was not over 30 days late. Neither the Creditor nor the Bureaus will do anything but deny help and continue to verify this falsehood.
Why would you want to do this without an attorney? If you have a valid case, your attorney will probably handle this on a contingent fee basis, meaning you don’t pay anything, unless you win.

In Florida, judgments can follow you around for 20 years while they try to collect from you. The credit reporting is the least of your worries. If those judgments are still part of the public record, the debt collector can pop up at almost any time and start garnishing wages, etc. It’s a good idea to find out if they’re still there, and deal with them if they are.

Hey Mike, I have some questions specifically regarding suing the bureaus. So I’ve been disputing since November 2021, and a couple accounts keep coming back verified as accurate, it’s as if they refuse to remove the inaccurate/incomplete accounts for whatever reason. How do I start the process of suing? What am I going to need? If and when I do sue, will they review my entire credit profile and make a judgement based on my past credit history or will the focus be solely on the specifics of what or why I’m suing? I’ve never sued anyone before so I don’t know what to expect or what to even ask. I’m in Tennessee.
