Just bought the Ronin SC. I’ve scoured RUclips for video after video before I came to your video. Your video my friend is the best one I’ve seen. Thanks for the in depth yet simple instructions!
This is by far the best SC balancing video. I have balanced 3 lenses using this vid and this last 1, 11-22mm canon EF-M, just took me 2 minutes and was perfectly balanced 1st try. THANK YOU
I was going to return my Ronin-SC because I thought it didn't work with my camera until I stumbled upon your video. You were very helpful, and your instructions were very clear. Thank you so much!

i wanted to thank you for the video. this is my first gimbal and have never set one up. as soon as i followed your steps my gimbal sprung into life. im using a 50mm so i had to adjust slightly. thank you again.
No other video, including the one from DJI, makes any mention of the riser plate for smaller, lighter cameras. I was about to pull all my hair out... wait, I'm friggin bald... but you get me. Thank you a lot.
Thank you so much for putting this one together so quick! Just ordered my SC and now It'll be a breeze to get it set. Much appreciated and glad to have a fellow Canuck providing such great content! Joe
I"ve watched several balancing videos and so far yours is the only one that is straight forward, simple and complete. Thank you. A big question I have is how parallax affects panos done with the Ronin. Is there a way to balance and also have most of the parallax adjusted out? Thanks again.
u really saved my life!! i have been figured like 2hours until saw your video! thanks! so the tips is adjust the 1st axis as face up, n bottom axis face front, then can balanced the position
Spot on video exactly showing how to balance the Canon m50 with the Ronin SC. Thanks for putting this step by step video together it was extremely helpful.
Thank you for a well done demo. What would be helpful would be to include attaching and activating remote cable. It appears not to fit on the gimble with the M50. Can you explain that?

Awesome! I already broke the type c adapter to micro usb trying to connect the thing to the m50. I had to order a replacement. This is definitely a journey so I’m tuned in to learn all that I can.
Hey mate, nice video, one question have you used with the cable? And also have you found the option to use time lapse with the cable? I can't use it. Regards
can u pls make a video of balancing as well as your experience/use of timelapse, motionlapse etc using rss cable as well? i also got g7 but want to confirm if it can be balanced and use all ronin sc features...thanks
I've actually seen many videos for Ronin balance...Trust me this is the best. Thanks a lot for it.. And will it be the same balance process with DJI Ronin S using canon 200 d with 50 mm lens?
I tried and failed many times due to: 1. The input jack on M50 is on the right side meaning the provided by DJI USB-C to Micro-B of the M50 is too long and will hit the motor. 2. even if you somehow manage to solve problem 1 then your camera will tilt to the left since there needs to be a clearance from the motor and then you need to somehow balance it with weight since you can't move it any more. 3. The active track requires a smartphone mounted on top, when you do that, since M50 you have to reduce the height so much that the bottom screw of SC touches the lower motor. So if you do find the solution, please do let me know
@@PouyaLucky I am also having trouble using active track with my cannon M50, you mentioned the smart phone had to be on top of the camera but I do not see if this is possible because of the light at the top. Any input or assistance will be much appreciated.
@@richardxerri598 still doesn't balance though. The weight of the phone tips the rig back and the phone screen hits the gimble. To balance it out the tilt needs to go down so far it hits the pan when doing testing.
Great advice. Thank you so much. Just got mine delivered. If there's a chance for a video showing all auto mobile phone setup /function that would be amazing.
A question that it may decide me buying this gimbal: Can you balance more than one camera/lens and store the setup in the gimbal as a profile 1, profile 2, etc? It will be a pain if you have to doing this balancing act everytime you change a camara or you change a lens in the camera. Thank you for your videos. They are very informative.
Ahh thanks for posting this. Just to clarify, in theory if you always use the same camera and lens, then once you've set it up once, it should basically be good to go (with maybe MINOR adjustments) if you just take it out of the base plate with it marked?
Correct if you were always using the same camera you only have to balance it once. If you add something like a microphone or a lens hood you might have to make a few slight adjustments but sometimes that’s not even necessary
@@AirPhotography So I just got my Ronin-SC, unless I'm being mistaken, I don't think you can use the Sigma 18-35 on the gimbal, I can't do the balancing the plate part. Even with the plate pushed as far back, the camera is too top heavy so falls. I think it only works with a lighter lens
I just bought a Ronin SC and it arrived yesterday. Today it completely stopped working. The app cant find it, the motors do nothing with the joystick. Totally shut out. Anyone have this issue. DJI's customer service is not responding and there is no live chat support for the Ronin, and Amazon is not taking responsibility saying it was purchased from a third party. Any help, anyone???

does the lens moving in and out for different zoom levels affect balance enough to cause problems? or do you need to set the mm to whatever you want first, then balance, then shoot every time?
Have you been able to plug the supplied micro-usb into the M50? My micro-usb does not plug in all the way into the M50. Thoughts? I’d like to be able to start and stop recording using the ronin-sc
Rage Quit Radio I did not try to use the phone holder on the hot shoe of the M50. So with that said, I had issues balancing a Rhode Shotgun mic and the M50, so did without it. Weight-wise the SC should be able to handle it, but got frustrated on trying to get the balancing perfect.
It’s pretty easy to balance the M50 on there by itself, but trying to balance it with the phone mount on top is another thing altogether. I’m having a very difficult time of it!
Which gimbal would u recommend for m50 users like me who likes to start with short film making and music vids. Also lenses, can dji ronin support m50 with long and heavy lenses?
I was having a hard time too, but if you look within the app, at the tutorials for balancing, it says you must balance the camera with the phone holder tilted back at 45 degrees. It made no sense to me, but it worked.
I have 2 questions if you don't mind. I've been looking around for an affordable one, and the other mirrorless ones seem to have problems with the M50. 1. How much clearance is there between the top of the camera and the motor that is normally behind it? Sorry, I don't know the technical names, but the when you hold it straight out in front of you, similar to how you might hold a bat pointing at the outfield, there's the motor that rotates vertically from under behind the camera, to above it. The "mirrorless camera gimbals", like the Zhiyun Crane M2, the top of the M50 it too tall to fit under that motor, thus you can't do shots that require that. Like say, a panning shot up or down, because the motor hits the camera and can't continue to rotate. So I was wondering how much clearance there is there. 2. This kind of goes along with the first question, but I wanted to see about putting a quick release plate on it. If you think that's outright a bad idea, then ignore this question completely. But this also has to do with the clearance. I see this one has 2 plates, the longer sliding plate, and one that connects the camera to the sliding plate. I assume that smaller connection plate would attach no differently than a quick release plate would. So, granted it be a good idea to add one, would it be possible to add a quick release plate on it rather than the small plate that connects the camera to the sliding plate? For reference, the quick release plates I use add 3/4 of an inch onto the bottom of the camera. Thank you.
Great tutorial, thanks! I’m definitely considering buying the DJI Ronin SC. I have a Canon m50 but have heard reports that the control lead coupled with the adapter becomes too long thereby potentially making contact with the motor and/or putting stress on the cameras USB port. I assume this is due to the USB port being on the right of the m50 rather than the left as with the majority of cameras. Is this a real issue and if so are you aware of a work around for it? Thanks.
Eric Pittman Hi. Yes, but it’s tight. I’ve put a cage on the M50 that allows me to mount off centre, which helps, but can make it a little more difficult to balance.
Unfortunately, the supplied cable is directional - to say the right angle connector MUST connect to the Gimbal, not the camera. Anyone found a solution to the connector adapter vs balance issue?

But this also has to do with the clearance. I see this one has 2 plates, the longer sliding plate, and one that connects the camera to the sliding plate. I assume that smaller connection plate would attach no differently than a quick release plate would. Joel Purnell did you get the cable to work with your m50?
Eric Pittman Hi. Yes, but it’s tight. I’ve put a cage on the M50 that allows me to mount off centre, which helps, but can make it a little more difficult to balance.
I can’t get my camera to register the cable being connected. Any settings on the m50 that need to be changed or anything ?
Eric Pittman No, I didn’t have to change any setting. You do have to use the Ronin adapter though, can’t just use any old cable unfortunately.
Unfortunately, the supplied cable is directional - to say the right angle connector MUST connect to the Gimbal, not the camera. Anyone found a solution to the connector adapter vs balance issue?
