Just my iPhone XS right now. Honestly, I love the versatility and because I’m small time, not worried toooo much about quality just yet. Also, good to know about AVL
I grow from 1000 to 152k subscribers in 1 year..your channel helped me a lot..Still watching your videos regularly and learn a lot from you.. Thanks a lot and hope to meet you.. Happy Aujla from Los Angeles
Two enthusiastic thumbs up for suggesting camera equipment setups that have the most bang for the buck. Many of us just want to know what is available with today's technology that will take our hobby photography and videos to a higher level without breaking the bank. I recently bought a Panasonic G9, but as I rapidly approach retirement, that might be the last camera at that price point I will be able to afford. This subject matter will become increasingly relevant for me.
A year old in a field that is changing daily, but still a very good and informative video. Just ordered a Sony a6400 to up my game on YT. Thanks for all the tips in this and your other videos!
I just got the Canon M50 and its a great upgrade that didn't break the bank. plus it is so compact and portable that i can bring it anywhere and not feel weighed down.
I'm a professional still photographer and just now getting into video. Using my Canon 5Ds, finding that battery life stinks and need to get an external mic ASAP. But I'm finding that instead of trying to make it perfect right now, I'm working to tell good stories and make it as great on the production side as I can until I get some more tools. NOT using the fact that I "need" more equipment as an excuse to not produce content. It's a fun journey that I hope to entertain and inform others! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience brother!!!
Thanks you for all you advice and guidance. I am starting a getting into RUclips and I've been using your tips and tricks to make sure I am doing my best. Keep doing what you do.
I can see why you are so successful on RUclips. Best informative video I have seen on this topic. Very comprehensive. Just what I was looking for. Great job.
THANK YOU so much for making this video! I feel like there’s so much pressure to buy a £2k camera and this shows that you can do it without spending ££££ 🙌🏽
Thanks so much for this video and for all of your videos. I’ve been watching your videos all day today on the M50. I finally ordered it a second ago. I ordered the camera and 3 other items from your amazon recommendations. I used your links. Thanks again! Now I better love the camera! 😂 I’m upgrading from using my iPhone for the past 6 years on RUclips, so I think I should be pleased. 👍🏾
Currently using what I have. Samsung Galaxy S8, Olympis Stylus TG-2 Tough, GoPro Hero 5 Session,. I also use Logitech C922X Webcam for live streaming. The goal is to up the camera this year. I am looking at Canon.
I originally had the Canon 550D with a 50mm Yongnuo prime lens but it was washed away by flood last year. All that I have right now is the GoPro Hero 5 Black but is currently backed with a ring light for key, $20 gopro light for fill / edge light and my smartphone with an external mic for good audio. This Christmas, I'm planning to get either the Canon M50 + 16 - 55mm Kit Lens / Canon M6 with Kit along with a Rode Video Micro and the Zhiyun Crane M2 for cinematic B rolls for future proof setup and will add my old Gopro in the arsenal for a very travel ready setup.
Right now, I am and have been using the Canon 80D with 2 lenses 10-18 EFS and the 50mm EF, with a RODE VideoMic Pro, 3 LED Flex Lights. I am happy with this setup, but, after 130+ videos between my 2 channels, and now I am starting to do Real Estate video and photo. I am ready to take my Video and Photo game to the next level...so I am upgrading my LENSES to the Canon 16-35 f2.8 L wide angle and the Canon 100mm f2.8 L for close-ups.
I have not been compelled to buy high dollar camera equipment or high dollar anything for filming my girlfriends channel. I have lights from Limostudio, a shotgun mic (that Sean recommended a while back) from VideoMicMe, and the cameras we are using are either an iphone 8, iphone XR or a 6th Gen ipad along with associative basic tripods. From what I have seen so far, the videos look and sound great as long as you always make sure your AVL is straight. Thank you Sean!😁
I am only using my pc camera (and microphone) to film, I had this mentality that I could not afford any extra equipment because it was expensive. You have made me actually look at some things (tripods, lights and microphones) that might really help me (for a very low price). Thank you very much :)
Yea, learning to use it but omg! It's such a beautiful piece of equipment! I got the 1.8 50mm lens as well. Takes beautiful, buttery melty pictures. Amazing video and I just love love it. Little more money than I wanted to spend, but you sold me and I couldn't be happier!
Right now i am filming with a Canon G7X mark ii and i have been looking to upgrade to the Canon G7X mark iii. I watched multiple videos including the one you did on it and I think it is perfect for me.
I started my RUclips channel with an inexpensive Sony NEX-5n with the kit lens, some lights I had in the basement and for audio I use my phone with a cheap $10 lav mic.
i'm literally just using the iSight camera on my 8 yr old iMac. video isn't really crisp but the sound via the built in mic is great, hoping to upgrade to a stand alone cam in the next couple of months
Currently shooting all my videos on my iphone. At this point I am focused on producing quality content at scale but in the near future i would like to upgrade the the M50!
Awesome Value video. Again I took your advice and built a beginner film maker rig. Came out great and have you And other RUclips filmmakers for advice and great tips. You’ll be hearing from me. Thanks again
Excellent presentation by professional youtubers! The best content was the actual demonstration of video and audio shot by four different camera/microphone/lighting setups! Highly recommended for prospective youtubers.
Hi Thanks for all the info and help , Thanks to you i just got the canon SL2 and love it . I am looking for a hood for the wide angle lens and have had no luck . I was hoping you could help out with this . Thanks for every thing you do . We are going to be outdoors 90% of video and photos .
I got the Panasonic g7 at first sent it back, not intuitive and just couldn't get good shots as a beginner. Had the canon g7 point and shoot which I loved so went with the m50 loved it from day one now learning more thanks to you and other RUclipsrs so I can take my video game up a notch. Also got the Vasar smartphone mount from your video was hesitant to try the Mefoto one since I don't like to take my phone out of the case all the time and it looked like it might not hold it. Saw it in another video so gonna try it and see. Thanks for all the value you provide.
Always great videos - I have Sony a7iii, tamron 28-75 lens, manfrotto adjustable tripod, Rhode pro shotgun mic and iPhone 7. Looking at several lights - one for in front of computer, one or two for side and some live acoustic videos, and a rear light for background.
I picked up a Canon M50 and a Shure VP83 with a Joby Gorrila pod at your recommendation. Very happy with it so far as it delivers great quality for the price (just like you said). I just need to jump into the editing and work on the quality of my video shots. I definitely think a gimbal for the the M50 (or whatever I get next) is going to be helpful. I've had fun with the DJI Osmo Pocket, but it doesn't adjust to the lighting as well as the Hero7 for outdoor actions shots. Just picked up a Insta360 which should be arriving tomorrow. Can't wait to play with this as well. Thanks for the great content.
Nice presentation, thanks for uploading! Great tips, again interesting concept with smartphone shooting.Great tips on audio as well - will have to apply. Thanks for your help!
currently shooting with the Sony A6500 and the 18-105 F4 lens from Sony + the 50mm F1.8 from Sony aswell. I´m more then happy because it´s a small footprint and with the cage i can rig it out how i want. I´m mostly shooting for other people so the not Flip out screen doesn´t bother me that much.
Great video. Currently shooting on a Canon T2i and my cell phone. I would like to pick up a dedicated webcam this year but I think I am going to save up and keep pushing out videos.
I love your videos man, your strategies are on point! But the hardest part is in real life, audio and lighting can be the worst.. and if it’s a shoot and go type of vlog, things can be so unavoidable. But it’s always best to prepare I guess for a video
Very good video. I'm learning more everyday. I shoot with a Logitech Brio Webcam, use a Neewer 176 LED Panel light along with a desk lamp, and Blue Yeti Nano on a Blue Compass boom arm as well as a webaround green screen. That's my setup. Though I would like to switch to a good DLSR this year. I'm sort of middle budget. Between 500-800.
Very informative video. My video quality is great but the rode mic go microphone makes my audio bad that I have to always film voice over videos with audio recorded on my iPhone. Do you have any tips on how to fix the video mic go. Thank you
Looking for some help... I have a canon sl2, and a rode go mic, I also use a htc-100 hdmi cable to use a monitor and have a horrible hiss/hum from the hdmi cable. How do I get rid of it? It’s not from the mic.
I have been looking for a camera to upgrade my channel and I am going to get M50 and I have been saving up, thanks for your review. Ready to upgrade from my Fujifilm XP 120™ Underwater Point and Shoot Camera, 👍1.9K
