    There will be many people that will discriminate you for your color & religion. Don't let them get ahold of you. The sikhs that say you cant be a sikh due to you being black, know that they are not truly sikhs of the guru.
    "Who is the acknowledged Sikh ? He is true Sikh who surrenders before the Guru and bows his head; Who puts his mind and forehead on the feet of Guru; Who holding dear to his heart the teachings of the Guru expels ego from his self; Who loves the will of Lord and has attained equipoise by becoming Guru-oriented, gurmukh; Who by merging his consciousness in the Word has acted according to the divine Will (hukam). He (the true Sikh) as the result of his love and fear of holy congregation attains his own self (atma)." Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

      y'all should stop trying to tell other Sikhs what to do, how to practice Sikhi, or how to live their lives. you should also ask more questions or be more curious + do more learning.

    Wearing a turban shaped cap doesn't mean you have that crown on you. Turban is something Guru Sahib gave us and you can't just wear it like it's a cap. Learn to tie a turban. Took me like a day to learn it.

    • @BLACKxSIKH
      @BLACKxSIKH  Месяц назад +1

      no thanks. we all wear + tie our own turbans whenever we want to wear a turban [we're wearing turbans in the thumbnail of the video for godsake. 🙄🤦🏾].
      more often, i prefer a cap or durag. that won't change.
      this comment is presumptuous, uninformed, + culturally incompetent. had you taken a few moments to check out other content//images (or even _actually_ watched this video), you would've known this.
      piece or advice: stop telling other people want to do; worry about your own journey w| Sikhi, if it's not causing harm, let others live + practice as they wish.

      Giving up one's identity in the spiritual sense is one thing. in reality, none of us can will away any aspects of our real-life identities.
      Even if we could-no, we won't be giving up our Blackness (our culture) for anything or anybody. luckily our Guru would never demand such a thing.

    • @BLACKxSIKH
      @BLACKxSIKH  6 месяцев назад +5

      The only reason you'd think that is because homophobic Sikhs exist. but SIKHI is clear, all people are equal. All means all.
      Our gurus interacted with all sorts of people including Queer people, one he even encouraged + gave advice to re: his quest to find a husband.
      also, Queer ≠ homosexual. Queer is an umbrella term.

      @@BLACKxSIKH yes, all people are equal, including queers, our gurus considered koosreh (trans) equal, but Sikhism is a philosophy which advocates family values and the "nuclear family" therefore practicing and promoting homosexuality is against Sikhism.
