I'd like to know who is making the money and where the debt is. Compared to the $1500+ truck payments we've heard about this sounds pretty tame. If he's an alcoholic then it's a bigger issue but I don't think it's about the Bourbon as much as it is the husband putting his foot down that he at least gets his $75 to spend each week while all the rest is going to the family and what his wife wants.
Even as a millionaire and multimillionaire, I had a budget of $100/week for my collecting hobby (knives, like Dave's example), and on average, I didn't spend even half of that. I do appreciate a good Bourbon, though. I guess I should've spent the other half on collectible whiskeys.
I'm always suspicious when someone comments that they're a millionaire and/or multimillionaire. What's the point of throwing that out there? You could have just started with "I had a budget of $100..." rather than stating how much money you supposedly make.
@@BREEZYM6015 The point being I had no debt and was "wealthy" by most standards and didn't think I should spend that much on a hobby. @@BREEZYM6015 I doubt it’s one a week it just averages out to that. With bourbon it depends on the season when allocated bottles come out.
@@WLJ1287 Buying AND bourbon is evidence of insanity.
@@amireallythatgrumpy6508 yeah you don’t know what you’re talking about
Wait, you can sell guns???? I thought you just keep accumulating them lol. Starts with one, then next thing you know you are buying your second safe, building a gun room in the basement, getting into reloading ........
I don't have a gun but if I did I certainly wouldn't keep buying them. I'm too frugal with my money. 😂
@@BREEZYM6015 LOL I hear ya. I get a new one almost every year. Looking to buy my 7th shotgun next year.
So we're calling shopping a hobby?
Grocery shopping, no. Collecting shoes, hats, purses, bourbon, yes. 😂
@@BREEZYM6015 I should have added a smiling emoji to my comment, because I do understand the lure of collecting! However, I'm a rye man, myself. ☺
@dennischiapello7243, yes, rye is where it's at. Maybe this guy is just collecting 1 bottle of Jack Daniel's barrel proof rye a week. That's around 70 bucks, and well worth it.
If he is DRINKING 75 dollars worth of whiskey a week, THAT is the problem. Thats what i assumed she meant.
No, he's collecting. Probably has over 100 bottles of different bourbons. I know a lot of guys that have huge bourbon collections.
It's amazing how many callers use Dave as a weapon :-)
Having been married, there is a reason we drink.
Bourbon is a hobby? Geez…..
Where’s my bourbon?! Slap!
Alcoholism doesn’t care about your baby steps. 😂
I think it was a good call.
No $75 for anything be it nail hair etc etc or alcohol
Is this where women come to complain about their husbands?
I had no idea this was a thing. Interesting.
Do alcohol collectors ever drink from the collection?
Leave the man alone lady.
i spend more than that on weed, though i'm not in debt, i guess that's a big difference
$300 a month is a lot just on bourbon. For all we know, he also has a $1,500+ truck payment on top of that.
That doesn’t seem like a lot, depending on what they make
Keep buying your bourbon sir
Also, being a millionaire or multi-millionaire is your net worth and not an indication of how much you "make". There are about 23 million millionaires in the US, which is approximately 1 in 12 adults. If you think being a millionaire is a big deal, it's not. It's just an often-referenced point on a measuring stick.
75 bucks a week is nothing. Thats one decent bottle of scotch.

I buy scotch and I am married. I am out of debt though.
Comprise seems like the obvious answer here ok instead of 300$ a month how about 150$
Interesting.. Is collecting bourbon a thing these days?
Do these collectors buy up certain bottles or vintages like wine for occasions, or actively consume contents to keep the bottle? Or both? I'm a very occasional social drinker that does enjoy adult beverages on occasion or at a party or happening. Just never heard of collecting bourbon. When DR said he has a collection I'm like "what .?".. haha
It is similar to wine except bourbon doesn't go bad in a couple days once opened. Not opened and stored properly, it can last longer than us. People collect for different reasons, but most that I know of do enjoy drinking it, usually socially.
