I have often wondered if she stated she wanted to live in the woods OR if via text, was it Sterns using her phone?
Why is it domestic violence and not child abuse?
Her comment. Think about it. Where was she found right after her 13th birthday?
I think he either threatened he would kill her & put her in the woods, or he fed her some fairytale of them running away to live in the woods, or he heard her make that comment & killed her & put her there. Her comment about living in the woods after her 13th birthday is just too close to be coincidental.
This man makes me sick. I would pay to have just 5 minutes alone with him.

@@heather4089all of us go through trauma & our spirit can never be broken, we’re survivors & then we spend our lives trying to be the change in someone’s life, when we come upon that person. She would have risen above the abuse and fought against it as an adult. He stole her life & we will never know her full potential.

I babysat a girl that her mother and her boyfriend were both SA ing her in the Mom's bed! I called LE and she was removed from the home. That was after a doctor examined her and verified that it was true.

It tore my heart up when they described that POS throwing little Maddie's book bag and laptop into the dumpster. He made her life hell on earth. Poor little baby😢

She also said she saw Maddie at 8am getting dressed . The only people who could of dressed Maddie was her mother and the monster

I find that very strange.
Domestic violence includes the violence that the child witnesses while in the home.
He's got sixty charges so far I think, related to the abuse, domestic violence I believe is related to her death (from the pathologists report) , although obviously he hasn't been charged with that...yet.
Maybe they have no evidence of the mother abusing Maddie, she just enabled it. The mother said she called the monster to come and take Maddie to school, which means the mother was the only adult living in the house with Maddie at the time of her murder ..
Semantics at this point make no sense. Fighting for absolute justice is all that matters.
I think that the officer was very professional, it must be hard to maintain composure and not let your personal feelings about the allegations against this man effect you. Very impressed with the officer.

If Jenn's mom knew that Madeline had many fears and that she was afraid to sleep alone and grandma didn't live with them, Jenn had to know that something was going on with Madeline.

You would be surprised the kind of manipulation these psychopaths use, it is possible her mother truly didn't know. I was the victim of something very similar I'm lucky to be here now.. my mother was so distracted by school and her addiction, you couple that with master manipulation and BAM she was totally blind to it all.

Could it be a state thing? The Idaho judge wouldn’t allow Lori Vallow Daybell a day off from her trial when she claimed to be traumatized by pictures of her murdered, dismembered, burned children.
This is pretty universal in North America. You only need to appear to make your plea, trial and sentencing. All other court dates are formalities such as scheduling or things pertaining to the attorneys, judge or courts.

People have to realize that this monster filmed this child. It is possible he sent those videos and photos to other pedophiles. They may be working those angles to arrest other predators and possible victims. I’d rather the police take their time and get it right. We want everyone involved if it’s more than him to be held accountable too.
Absolutely. Unfortunately she’s passed on and we can’t change that, but we can make sure as many people accountable go down for her murder as need be. Whoever saw those videos and photos needs to be arrested. The mother needs to be deeply investigated, the grandmother that lived there as well. Family members need to all be questioned to form a background, did anyone ever have suspicions, if so why in detail. I hope she gets justice and can rest in peace knowing he’s rotting, poor girl didn’t even have her mother to protect her.

I spent yesterday with my family. A yard full of beautiful children that have blessed our lives so much. I cannot imagine anyone hurting our babies, they would surely die.😢

its fairly common behavior in poor broken families sadly. 1/4 girls are sexually abused before the age of 18. Children are biproducts and checks for these women and the men are used to doing whatever they want

No, it's prevalent in two parent families and childhood SA occurs in every socio-economic group. Sexual abuse of children is not reserved for one particular race, culture or tax bracket. I can attest to that because it happened to me and we were well off financially and my parents were married for 67 years.

As a mom of an adult ASD son, I took full responsibility for his actions therefore we "safe proofed" the home and kept his mental health #1 priority.

It's no different than baby proofing your home. Anything that can be used as a weapon gets eliminated, I made sure his mental health issues were addressed with professionals. I had intimate knowledge of my son's behaviors, and that is why I took the responsibility as his parent to keep him AND society safe. I've had to TDO him as a teen. We do what we have to do. These parents clearly DID NOT. The bio dad is the only one I see in tune with his child.
We also have an autistic son. We child proofed it. As a child
Once he ran out of the house to the road because a leaf fell out of a tree and he had to get it. It frightened me as he ran to the street. He fortunately didn’t step on the street. Right after that we put indoor dead bolts and that never happened again.
@@jaguar5455 From one ASD mom to another, it's heart wrenching. Mine would take walks without letting me know he'd left. He was about 15-16 like Sebastian Rogers. I had to put a safety plan in place. It just comes down to knowing what your child's needs are. He has since been diagnosed with Bipolar, Schizophrenia, and Auditory Deficit Disorder. But that took ME staying on top of his mental health. He drew crazy pics like that and I didn't ignore them. We took action. Which helped keep himself safe and others. We fought hard to get the services but thank God we did.

This is my opinion when they interviewed at first.
Yeah something is off about that woman. She doesn't act right, changes her story, i think she knew she was d*ead. I think she knew she was being abused. I think the truth is far worse than what we know now
The mother and the boyfriend had separate bedrooms and Madeline's clothes were in the boyfriend's bedroom. Her grandmother provided that information and said it seemed strange to her

When he was initially interviewed before he was arrested, he kept referring to Madeline in the past tense...saying she was, she was.... that's because he knew she wasn't missing, she was dead and dumped!
I’m glad the police are keeping it private. I have seen case after case completely fall apart because of RUclipsrs causing so much chaos the offender gets by and the case gets closed. Look at Summer Wells case.

As your guests were discussing the 911 calls it made me think of when Cindy Anthony had to make the call regarding Caylee. The 911 operator asked to speak with Casey who sounded very annoyed talking to the operator.
She was annoyed because she knew where her baby was. Her mother calling police just complicated things for little Casey and her new found carefree life. I can’t believe she walks freely

If you look at her progression in age and know what was happening you can assess that she’s looking older bc she was forced to endure years of intense violence in silence. She was probably so mentally run down that she appears like she’s 24 when she’s barely 13 bc she’s suffered more in her young years than many will ever suffer in a lifetime. And I think the photos taken of her and used make her appear more grown up than she is. Kids at 13 flip flop between kids and maturing but look at the video of her with her friend at her party or her other photos and see she’s just a little tween turning into a young teen. That she was put thru so much from age 8 means she endured years and god knows what all happened to her. Her story will never be fully told but I hope they can at least use as much as they can to make a really airtight case in court.

I hope the mother is charged because there is no way she didn’t know her minor daughter was being SA’d for many years and that there was something off about her boyfriend. I was victim to something very similar and my mother didn't know she was busy with school her addiction and mental illness you couple that with master manipulation and you get the perfect storm for a predator to continue being a predator while going unnoticed. I garentee her mother was seeing signs of depression and so on but that could be a million different teenage issues in her eyes.. was ger mother neglectful? Probably, however this happens far more than you know.

My mother then called the police she didn't know and I understand the human brain wants the believe no one could be so close to something so horrible while being completely unaware but it's possible.

This is so infuriating! I hope the mother goes to jail too. Something isn’t right. There is no reason for her to lie and say that there is surveillance of Madeline by the school then leaving. The 911 calls are strange too. I get that she may have been nervous but the person that made the phone call didn’t know important information. I would have pulled the phone from her and answered those questions. I can’t believe she didn’t make any phone calls to 911. At the very least, she should have made a call, losing her $hit when they made her wait. She screams guilty!

It's typical for the Sheriff department to respond slowly, they aren't as prepared as a 911 operator would be. They cover the entire county, not just a town.
The mother's statement @ 21:28 saying Maddy was seen on camera by the church and school is a confirmed lie.

They did see a child in the church parking lot. However, the mom didn't see the footage her sister did and said it could have been Maddy. L.E. could not determine it was her because the video was grainy, and if I remember correctly, the girl had her back turned to the camera and was walking away. Not a false statement, just wrong information.

I believe it was the first caller that responded after the 911 operator asked if Madeline had a phone and she said she “conveniently” left it at home that day… Did this caller think something was amiss with mother’s story?
Did she really send that text message to her friend, or did someone else send it pretending to be her? As a way to get away with the crime. A storyline
I tried to track down where that came from, and I think it came from a RUclipsr that was covering this case. he never said the source. i'm assuming it was made up.
Why did it take so long for the cops to show up?
Bc a missing person is not considered an emergency...not until a certain amount of time. It takes a back seat to life threatening emergencies and violence...its really too bad bc after an hour -or several hours abducted children may have only a few hours to live. The sooner they find them, the more likely they are alive.
Because the mother waited as long as possible before getting her family to report Maddie missing. Had she gone into the school at pick up time , they would have called police and had a faster response time.

@punkyspray maybe she was worried the police would know she was faking? Easier to get someone else to call. I wondered if she had the calls from her mothers home to give lover boy more time to clean up any evidence at home.
It’s a shame that there was such a delay to send an officer when there was a child missing which should have been a priority for a police department
That 911 phone call tells me everything I need to know. That mother is guilty as hell. That's why she asked a colleague to phone 911 and then answers the questions relayed to her, instead of directly, without any emotion. I won't be surprised if she is 100% involved. Did she kill her daughter in a fit of jealousy? She seems utterly smitten with that piece of garbage.
What kind of police don't respond to a missing child report right away?

Stephens didn't live in the home. I think Jen caught him assaulting her and she took her anger out on her daughter. Domestic violence means someone who lived in the home committed violence against her. Has to be Jen.

FL state law asserts that anyone who had been living in the family unit could be charged with DV. Doesn't dictate current household members. May be one person who had ever resided with the Sotos whether temporary or not.
