- Come & check out Mercado Central in Quito, Ecuador! From the fresh fruit and produce to the various cuts of meat, this market has something for everybody. Jorge will be getting his first spiritual cleanse (LIMPIA) while Kacey searches for her favorite fruta lady. We will also get a chance to try Encebollado, a national dish in Ecuador! The "limpia" is a ritual and it's very interesting because the "curanderos" used to say that when after they used the egg on the body, they open it and put in the glass of water, if the white part of the egg forms like candles in the water, you are "ojeado". Try the chirimoya doused in fresh orange juice, let the fruit marinade in the juice overnight in the fridge, its called chirimoya alegre, it really makes the flavors pop.
