  • Welcome to MITAD DEL MISKE! If you are planning a day trip to Mitad Del Mundo, make sure to also stop by Casa Agave! Casa Agave specializes in the recovery of knowledge and enhancement of one of the oldest heritages of the equatorial valleys, the "Agave"! We took a tour of the Botanical Gardens, the Museum, and the Distillery. A tasting of the many different Agave derivatives such as Chawarmishki, Agave Honey and Agave Chocolate, is provided along with the tour. During this time, we had the chance to taste their award winning MISKE! In 2021, MISKE was awarded 2 gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for their Reposado and Silver! Casa Agave is also kid friendly and made sure our children felt a part of the whole experience. If you are looking for a day trip in the Quito area, make sure to add Casa Agave to your list! I'm loving your channel!! Im from Ecuador and now living in the States, and I appreciate how much you guys are open minded into our culture. It also makes me proud to see how hard working our people are and how they wish to give you a good experience. We are very welcoming in Ecuador. I'm very sorry you had to cut your stay due to gang violence, it's a shame for all of us Ecuadorians. We just want peace and want to be productive, but corruption seems the norm sometimes... Hopefully it changes.
Anyways, thank you for visiting and appreciating Ecuador!! Hope your next destination is as fun and rich for you guys!!

Think about this. Every time there is an earthquake, the plates of the earth move, as does everything else, including the Equator. A few years back they considered creating a new park, but changed their minds. The park is not on the Equator and there is a second "equator" down the road. Truth is that your GPS will tell you the truth and for people living here it is not a big concern because the earth moves a lot. The Andes mountains also grow with the moving tectonic plates. And the sun does not come south to the Equator as it stops right across from my balony, which is 21 miles north of where the Equator is located at this time. The Norte Sierra has the largest amount of indigenous at 72%. My town is surrounded by 42 indigenous farming communities, so you have fresh food daily. I have found the northern communities to be much more family oriented but the huge immigration from the U.S. is changing a lot of the normal life. In our town children can play anywhere any time without anyone worrying. Towns are like one big family, even during pandemics.
