I am getting such a kick out of you. There are 3 things of utmost importance in Ecuador. RESPECT, FAMILY and HAPPINESS. They live by that and it is planned into just about everything. In 12 years here I have found NO unfriendly people, with the exception of a few U.S. expats. Everyone gets what I call tourist treatment for about 3 years until they realize you are not leaving. You then becomes family. In my 68 years in the U.S. and my World travels, I never found the friendliness of Ecuadorians. To me Quito is New York City. If you like the big city people who live in Quito, you will love the more down to earth peopled outside of Quito. Many people in Quito also keep second homes elsewhere in Ecuador, mostly on the coast. And color is rarely noticed in Ecuador, as we are all a mixed bunch. I live within doors of two schools. I love to watch the kids coming and going to school. In all the kids with jet black hair, you are going to see a light blond. We have many mixed race families here. Ecuadorians are a mixture of the World. I think you and your Family will do well here and your children will definitely be safer here than in the U.S. Love the haircut. A popular cut for Ecuador.

Quito is amazing to walk, safe and fun ... best thing is to find a barbershop with a Colombian or Venezuelan barber ... nothing against Ecuadorians but Colombians and Venezuelans cut better
