Mr. Allison, it is such a joy to discover your channel. I own and operate a small upscale men's accessories shop in Poulsbo, Washington, just about 30 miles west of Seattle on Puget Sound. Being a purveyor of fine cigars and hand blended pipe tobacco I find your video on proper lighting technique. quite rewarding and entertaining. I was last in Davidoff's spectacular London shop back in 1985 and it is wonderful to see the "how to light a cigar" video and to see you interact with those wonderfully classy gentlemen. I have always tried to emphasize to my cigar clientele that patience is indeed a key ingredient in lighting a fine cigar and, as you experienced that patience will be greatly rewarded when you take that virgin puff.
Another great video and tutorial Kirby. I recently purchased the Donatus “Big Cut” cigar scissors as it allows me greater control over where I cut the cigar for more precision. I find it’s easier to see exactly where I’m cutting than with a guillotine cutter. And as these cigar scissors are made in Solingen, Germany, I know they represent the quality, craftsmanship, and tradition you always speak of. It took a while for me to locate a pair as I’m not sure if these are still being produced, but I’m really glad I was able. Highly recommended.
Good evening Kirby, I can appreciate the multi-use cuter and cigar place holder. I commented on your How to light a cigar video. I think you'll appreciate reading it. Bonjour
Kirby, Would you mind sharing information about your selection on rings. I noticed you have a very nice wedding band and you are also now wearing a pinky ring. Thank You
I have the same cutter by Dupont. Only mine has the Cohiba 5 logo on the blade. What do you think about it? I only use mine on occassions as I find it very heavy. Nice to have the stand however.
Good idea indeed..he's certainly covered far smaller/ less universal tasks, a gentleman's haircut seems very appropriate to everyone in line with his shaving tutorial videos, but not enough to take him into the world of YT men's self care channels "rabbit hole"... Cheers
My boss was gonna throw out a whole box of cigars so I ended up with a bunch of Cohibas and Guantanamera. In perfect condition. New to cigars but I'm enjoying them. Thank you for helping me learn to cut them. It was silly he was just mad because we are cleaning are business for a buyout and didn't wanna deal with it so I got a bunch of free stuff he was just going to toss away.
Mr. Allison, my Cuban mother and grandmother taught me to cut a cigar with their thumbnails, they would go around the base and the tip would pop off. They said if the tip pops off perfectly, that is the sign of a well rolled cigar , I've tried it many times and it has worked ,,,most of the time. What do you think? Cheers
Tysm I hate cigars, but my weed oil thing broke so I'm gonna put it in a cigar that was lying around the house and hope it works. I didn't even know you had to cut cigars until my dad told me 💀💀💀
Never before. See "Holt Cigars" though i hate it when people say you can't do things a certain way with cigars so if that's your way do it just know most people are against it and it can Gunk up your cutter.
Dear Mr. Allison Your new taste in color is very classy, yet your pocket-square game, is still a bit lackluster. I apologize for the blunt truth ! Beautiful tie by the way !
It’s all about the apparatus and technique employed, not to mention location. Snorting a badly chopped ‘line’ off your house key or the toilet cistern in a grotty pub simply won’t do. Invest in some fine gentleman’s sniffing tools and frequent more salubrious, members only establishments.
The multipurpose use of the Dupont cigar cutter is impressive. This is a great example of beauty and function.

Great short video Kirby, keep up the hard work good sir!!
Very straightforward. Thank you very much :)
I love the cigar cutter. 👌👌
Just had a 1910 absolutely loved it
Kirby, have you given much thought about pipes and pipe tobacco? Would be very interesting to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Excellent, instructive and stylish.
The rotating bit is a nice tip, merci Monsieur Allison.
I sincerely really enjoyed watching all your videos all the time. 👍🏻Awesome 👍🏻
Thank you for this guide. Also I love your suit. I really should get a tailored suit made.
Perfect
Thank you

Kirby,
Would you mind sharing information about your selection on rings. I noticed you have a very nice wedding band and you are also now wearing a pinky ring.
Thank You
Now you have to smoke both 😎
Wow thanks soooo much now I can finally sleep at night!! So many things to remember just to get cancer!!
I need this for the 2-3 cigars I enjoy annually. Which tie is that? The gold really jumps nicely.
Great video Kirby, keep it up!
Great video keep up the good work sir

How long will the cigar be good to smoke after cutting?
Kirby, if you would please upload a video of a “gentlemen’s HAIRCUT”; I’ve been waiting for years to see this process on your channel.

Nice signet. Will this be sold on your site? What is the carat and weight of the one you are sporting?

Thanks I'm about to smoke my first cigar and without your advice I probably would've messed it up
Nice 👍👍

With these cutters, are there replacements blades or a way to sharpen them?
Thank you Kirby. The voice still sounds a little crocky- hope it’s on the mend.
Very fine tip about rotating the cigar to get the blade slightly seated into the wrapper! Is this something you started to do yourself Kirby?

I use a cigar punch, about 8 mm in diameter.
Hey Kirby, why don’t you smoke pipes too? Both, cigars and pipes, have tradition, craftmanship and elegance.
I believe the masculine perfecto is more common than the feminine perfecta.
Damn, so me chewing the end off is wrong? 😂
I've always thought real men bite the tip off and spit it out with nice 45 degree turn off the head, you know, like a true gentlemen...
The wrong way to cut a cigar is by using a blunt knife.
Or your teeth
@@FordyHunt yes or your teeth or a car even.
@@FordyHunt there’s a bite technique I thought
I prefer to use a spork

Can you do a video on pinky rings
Personally I prefer a cross-cut with a V cutter.
You should take the cigar to the mouth before cutting so it gets the leave just a bit wet.
Never before. See "Holt Cigars" though i hate it when people say you can't do things a certain way with cigars so if that's your way do it just know most people are against it and it can Gunk up your cutter.

You'll end up cracking many wrappers, enjoy it.

I’ve never heard of anyone even the Sahakians rotating the stick slightly before cutting.
Its called a cap....
What about biting with your teeth 🦷

Kirby I have an issue. Is sniffing cocaine considered decent by gentlemen?
I would like for it to be as I like to partake, but I am unsure

I don’t think videos promote tobacco and alcohol should be allowed on social media. I’m going to complain to RUclips.
