Erin Fitzgerald also voiced Nazz in Ed, Edd and Eddy which is like my favorite cartoon network show growing up. In fact her avatar used to be Chie drawn as Nazz or Nazz drawn as Chie haha. And her current Avatar is dressed as Chie and holding a Nazz plush :D
While I disagree in general about a P4 Remake being an awful idea, there is some merit in some of the points of criticism. P4/P4G is possibly my favorite game of all time. I've done over 30 playthroughs because I enjoy the game and everything that it has to offer that damn much. I personally would love to see a remake mainly because of quality of life changes they can do, among other things. I honestly don't have a problem with them "P5ing" things like they did in P3R. P3 is my least favorite of the series but Reload made me change my mind to where I don't hate it as much and I enjoyed my time with it. There is some issues that would arise if/when a P4 remake comes about. The story has to remain untouched, like they essentially did with P3R. Some of the things you already mentioned. Leaving characters such as Naoto and Kanji alone. Their own personal stories and character arcs and the growth they show throughout the game is something that many people go through to this day. Naoto is and was never trans. Kanji was never gay, however, I do view him to be Bi-sexual, for a few reasons, which I won't get into at this moment. It would be stupid for Atlus to change anything about them that would alter their characters and story. It would ruin the message they were originally conveying. Now, to go back to the topic of "P5ing" things. While I initially don't have a problem walking from place to place, but having the option to fast travel to a social link or to anywhere in general is always nice. I mostly walk to places but sometimes I just wanna fast travel and get it over with. The social link abilities/passives is a nice bonus in my eyes. In P3R, there were no benefits to leveling a SL other then to raise it for stronger fusion bonuses. The passive abilities that come from the dorm activities, while some being completely broken, some were just useless and just not good. Those are optional. Samething with Theurgy. Quite a few things you can just ignore but the option is always there. Whatever they choose to do for P4R, I'm here for it. Bring on the quality of life changes. For gameplay, I'm of the mindset of, "Once you play one persona game, you know how it works." They are all very similar with some changes. I did Merciless for my first playthrough of P3R. There was very little planning, aside from prioritizing certain SL's, because I already knew how it worked. The only thing was to learn what Reload changed. I do agree that some aspects of what Reload changes/brings makes the game easier. I do agree that having a set in stone dungeon/palace with puzzles set in stone and never changes is essentially boring. Its a great time for a first playthrough but some aspects of the palaces in P5 are just a slog to get through because you already know what to do and you just want it to be over. The RNG aspects of P4 is what made me do over 30 playthroughs and still want to do more. One run is never the same but eventually you get similar experiences but never the exact same thing, in my experience. For voice actors, I think if they go the same route like they did with P3R, I see no issue. The only potential problem is finding good to great replacements. In general its just going to be very difficult to find a new cast that can be on par if not better then the originals. As you said, a voice actor can make or break a character. Like, for example, Naoto. Anna Graves as Naoto was just SO GOOD. Especially if you romance her. I'm all for change if they go for quality instead of filling a quota. Also, having everything voiced in P3R was just amazing, aside from the flavor text. Having that for a P4R would be great. I'd just love to see P4 get a remake and get the same kind of love that P3 did. Also just to see what they can do. These are just the thoughts that came to me in the moment so they its not as in depth as I would like but I think this should suffice for now.
I'd much rather have persona 1 and 2 get remakes first then 4 if that's the case like p4 is already good enough as it is and easily accessible now in this age while 1 and 2 have been stuck in limbo most people don't even want to get into p1 and 2 due to it's graphics
@@hasshenjo6416The thing is most people only want to see the games story lines but not the gameplay because it wasn't favorable to many people in the series.
Voice acting replacements will likely stay the same since the game isnt that old. Only Teddie and chie voices have changed but if the remake were to occur then they'll use the same voice actors
My first persona game was Persona 3, and then played both Persona 2 games and then persona 1. I played 4 and five as well. But for me personally, I really like the random generated dungeons more than the Persona 5 palaces.
In my imagination I hope they make big changes to Persona 4 like turning Inaba into a fully explorable world with no loading screens and brand new dungeons. But in my cynical heart I know you're right and Persona 4 Rewind would just be Persona 5 in Inaba. New voice actors would be the nail in the coffin.
I love how you never need to fast travel in P5. I would gladly put 500 hours into a playthrough by sneaking through palaces and walking everyone in the real world. It makes it feel so alive. I love how much detail is in every inch of P5's world, as well as P3 and 4's. P4 has a similar atmosphere to the Raidou games in a way I can't really describe, but I love it all the same. I love looking through windows and doing useless stuff.
Are ya really gonna argue that the palaces in Persona 5 are repetitive but the dungeons in Persona 4 aren’t? The only reason anyone could ever think that is because you don’t expect variety in Persona 4. In reality, you are just repeating the exact same thing forever in 4. Where do the changes lie in 4? Nowhere except shadows, which function almost identically and don’t change on repeat playthroughs. I have no idea what you’re talking about here.
the floor layouts change, and as each floor is randomised finding the stairs to get up each floor while fighting or avoiding shadows in the narrow corridoors is more engaging then the palaces in persona 5, as persona 4’s have corridoors in each dungeon that are random every time although they dont change in appearance and music getting to the next floor is different due to the amount of things that change due to RNG, persona 5 is the same every palace no changes every single time, theres no difficulty, the controller has a button that finds a weakness for an enemy and puts your cursor on it Braindead game that never changes p4 combat based dungeons > persona 5 puzzle based palaces the puzzles dont change in persona 5 persona 4 has puzzles and its 1 or maybe 2 floors in a dungeon its not mind numbing to explore like persona 5
@@ACursedJessie But the randomly generated dungeons don’t actively change the gameplay. Maybe you’ll go left instead of right, but that changes very little. It’s not like there’s no combat in five either, there definitely is, and there’s difficulty modes that make it harder, I know I never used the “find weakness” button (plus in 4 Rise will just tell you the weakness every damn second). It’s not like 5 is just puzzle puzzle puzzle the whole way through, you’re just using that as a word to describe actual layouts in the dungeons. It sort of is the same as the 4 dungeons, except you have an actual motive to get to individual places. For example, shadows will block your route to the completion of a unique activity, which if you already know the answer will be over in 5 seconds anyway but would spice up the gameplay in a way 4 simply can’t. They sort of add an element of puzzles in there but for the most part the actual gameplay is identical, aside from being way more fun because there is an actual layout chose by a human. And this next part is more subjective, but is turning right instead of left really spicing up the gameplay? It isn’t. It’s repetitive. It’s boring. Same with shadow variety. Doesn’t matter if I’m fighting a golem or a tank, they function the same anyway, and 5 has shadow variety anyway. If the battle system the lack of difficulty was your problem with 5, couldn’t that be changed instead? Not to come as pompous and all, but all your arguments can logically be proved wrong, and I have to assume they come from a place of bias rather than consideration.
fundamentally persona 3 and 4's dungeon crawling is combat focused and as a fan of traditional JRPG's with replay ability i like that gameplay style more, i have grievances with persona 5 because im passionate about the franchise and know the games better then i know the faces of my friends family and boyfriend. I posted your comment into my discord server yesterday and a majority of people disagreed with your take if you wanna discuss it with them further, then feel free to do so theres a link to it under a majority of my videos tldr i like games that are focused on the game part of the game not the spectacle
@@ACursedJessie You say that so objectively as if that wasn’t what I was arguing against. The developers considered this change an upgrade, 4 isn’t as it is because an artistic choice, it was way easier to develop. Considering that you just said you know these games more than your own family, I have to assume there is a significant bias here. Sorry for being obnoxious by the way
I think if P4's script got altered, it would be because of ATLUS West if anything. They already altered some of Junpei's "WTF BRO ARE YOU GAAAAAY????" moments.
I do think that it's not neccesary to remake P4 since P4G is aged quite well with improved gameplay, improved narrative with flesh-out character dynamtic and depth.
Ngl out of all the persona games ive played p4 had the worst dungeons. imo and i kinda disagree on some of your points like socail link bonus are fine as long as they can be fixed to make it more fair. Plus you could add when what sl are available and which ones were to rank up in the ui meun And the va thing, im fine with since p3r pulled it off pretty well and people seem to like it. A personal onw for me is for the remake to lean into the horror angel of p4 imo
social link bonuses in p5 where awesome, take a RPG’s skill tree, and put them inside of the persona social link system it worked wonders into making sure social links had more purpose, they were kinda busted on Royal but Royal is ultimately a very poorly balanced game, i would be massively disappointed if atlus scrapped this idea in p6
As long as they get actors that stay true to the “spirit” of the original characters, who cares if they have different actors? For P3R, half the people couldn’t tell if Mitsuru was different or not, and Junpei’s is such a perfect rendition, it might as well be the original. There’s a lot of talent I’ve never heard of with P3R, so it would be sick to discover even more with a P4R.
Honestly I think it does. It would be a wonderful idea especially with how awful the dungeons are in this game. If they can make it like Persona 3 rewind it would be perfect albeit awkward because it already came out on the Vita and PC recently in HD But I really do want a rewind remake of persona 4G. It's too perfect
My biggest worry is the difficulty. It's probably going to be even more easier than Golden already is. The remake is going to add stuff like Almighty Boost & Amp. Making the Megido line more powerful. But almost nobody plays Persona 4 for the difficulty and challenge, so that may not bother most people. I rarely see someone play it on Hard or Very Hard.
@@AdacherTheCabbageEater I wouldn't be seeing people getting killed by bosses on Twitch and needing my help, if Persona 4 was brain dead easy on their first playthrough. Many games are easy once you know how the mechanics work, or how to break them. But that's not what I'm talking about here. It's the fact not many people are going to play on high difficulty setting because they don't want to get stuck on a boss, or get killed by random shadows. In Persona 4 very hard is brutal for most people on their first playthrough, which is why most of them play on normal or lower. (with a few playing on hard) That way they can just enjoy the story and characters. The last person I helped couldn't beat the Heaven boss until I told him to guard the magic attacks, even though he grind 20 levels. I played on very hard on my first playthrough by the way and beat it.
you know i knew i did not want a persona 4 remake but i did not even think about the voice actor changes that would happen the P3 voice actors for the remake even tho i think they did a fine job it still annoyed me that it was different then how they should sound in m head but with P4 thats my favorite persona game so i dont think i could even play a remake that replaced the voice actors it would feel like i was playing a bootleg or something
Persona 4 doesn't need a remake. Like a lot of Atlus games (P3 included) it's timeless in it's own right; obviously a product of it's time in instances like the depiction of TVs, but all the more charming because of it and with a theme explored in a way made unique because of when it was set. The same can be said for many games in SMT. If Atlus wants to make remakes than they reserve them for games that "need" them. Shin Megami Tensei IV literally had two-thirds of cut content in order to fit onto a 3DS cartridge leaving multiple plot beats unexplained and obtuse despite their importance to the plot and Jack Bros has been left for dead on the virtual boy.
Persona 4 deserves a remake, but not in this span of time because P4G still aged good today, P1/P2 deserves a remake first and then P4 after many years from now. I guess, if ATLUS P5'd P3R, they will P6'd P4R
It seems there's a reoccurring sentiment/meme in the community that I feel like should be addressed... Midori (credible leaker and FeMC enjoyer) stated that a P1, 2 and 4 remake are all simultaneously in the works/being heavily planned meaning that no matter what we say ultimately these remakes will eventually arrive. In what order? I think Persona 1 may come first for story reasons and then a Persona 2 duology remake bundle where you can choose which game to play within the title screen and then eventually Persona 4 Rewind. This will most likely come after the inevitable Digital Devil Saga Duology HD remaster and even until after Persona 6 meaning we will not be seeing a P4 remake until well after lot of these issues are made irrelevant (besides the personal nit picks that will never be resolved due to their nature as personal nit picks that everyone has)
I played p4 and i loved it.. but the thing that worries me the most is that they gonna dumb down story themes like the thing with naoto and kanji. I would like the story to remain as faithful as it can be (and maybe they can add story elements but nothing that contradicts the main story and charecters)
The only thing i'd wish from a remake of persona 4 would be more variety in what the bosses do and higher difficulty but we all know that Atlus would probably make the opposite²
Ngl for me a thing i think a persona 4 remake inspired by reload or p5 wouldn't really work, cause inaba is not a stylish place, it's just a cozy little space that has seen better days, you can't put p5 glamour and style on the shops cause inaba just isn't that, the only thing i would want if there would be a p4 remake is the Yosuke romance, cause that one feels needed for me, it's the missing piece that makes everything around yosuke fit so if there needs to be one, please be that
you think tatsumi port island had style? it was like just chopped up small 3d areas if even that i dont think it would work and i dont doubt theyd just make it like p5/reload
@@ACursedJessie I meant it more as a modern place, a place that's always rushing if it makes any sense, like both p3 and p5 have a bit of that always moving city thing, while p4 is a lot slower, it's a city where not a lot happens every day, if it makes any sense, so if they made the remake it wouldn't be able to have the same vibe inaba had if it was made like p5.
@@ACursedJessiefigured that it released the next year. But anyways, I didnt play og p4, since we never owned a ps2. Also, back then, I was lvery young back then, and I didnt know a lot of video games. Also, they definitely didn't know about Persona back then, so they wouldn't know
@@Hyp3rSonic search for Persona 4 Opening. User is Jabaxaro, uploaded 14 years ago. The Square Enix logo shows up before the Atlus and Criware logo then Pursuing My True Self plays.
:3 I agree that the random dungeons are better especially on a repeat run While my favourite dungeons in the series are actually persona 1's i think the random generated stuff isn't awful like some people make it out to be, however i actually prefer the p3fes style of Tartarus as opposed to the TV world, i think it might be just that i prefer FES's with its knockdown rules, while stunlocking is certainly a bit of an issue is especially late game Fes it is a pain to draw out an entire fight like that. Still prefer p4 dungeons to p5 tho. I also don't think atlus should make persona dungeons closer to nocturne or DDS, while nocturne dungeons can be quite fun i can't imagine a casual player would want to solve kabukicho prision from nocturne in the middle of their life sim/rpg game, although i could see maybe persona 6 taking the SMT V approach in having bigger more open areas to explore but not an actual open world.
in other words i want this to be remade as i dont like it how its currently presented idek if its the original story i just wanna be able to say i played them
with 1 and 2, they did do an attempt back in the psp and other then Eternal punishment psp which is actually pretty good for what it is, p1 and p2IS makes reload look like a masterpiece of a remake, so it can feel a bit...weird very few have noticed a similar divide on an updated release when more or less we've had this song and dance happen before
Tbh, I like P5's dungeons and I think the puzzles make them more interesting to go through, but at the same time, I'm a Zelda fan so I'm used to doing similar puzzles in dungeons. But I also see the benefits in the randomly generated dungeons as well because I play mystery dungeon games too. So between the palaces and mementos, I'm satisfied with P5's gameplay. And I guess that's why I enjoy P3 reload so much. I did play FES back in the day but reload just blows FES out of the water for me and I don't see it being similar to P5 as a bad thing. I know all of it is subjective and I mean hey, people bought P5 more than any of the other games in the franchise so of course Atlus wants to appeal to P5 fans. It's just a sensible business move. But yeah, those are my thoughts that I decided to share to boost the engagement stats on this video or whatever. Lol. It is an interesting discussion to have.
I don't want another rewind. I want Persona 6. It's been almost 8 years. If GTA 6 comes out before Persona 6, someone at Atlus is getting slammed with a steel chair.
Yall mfs that are desprate for persona 6 is like the same annoying mfs that desperately want gta 6 back in the day. Relax fam, Hashino-san just finished metaphor re-fantazio give him time to make persona 6. Yeah atlus could hire another person to direct persona 6 but considering Hashino-san already did persona 3,4 and 5 I think atlus will just want Hashino-san to direct persona 6. Even if they start persona 6 project after metaphor re-fantazio, it’ll take at least 7 years to complete persona 6.
At this point people should just make their own Imagining Projects. Like what you said my dream Persona game isn't the same as yours nor what Atlus wishes.
I think P4G was the first Persona game to feel "modern". I'm a huge fan of Fes but P4G had a ton of events, a more alive world, better and more varied animations, and just more stuff. I don't know how to put it. P4G just feels complete. I love P3F a lot, but I always felt it was a bit lacking in events compared to 4 and 5. It felt a lot emptier.
I read the thing about Karen Strassman and it's really really gross how it'll start as a conservative leaning opinion, and people will twist that into her being a slur-slinging racist. I hate the right wing a more than the left wing, but it's disgusting how often voice actors with right leaning opinions will get dragged through the mud and horribly slandered.
I mean, to be fair I don't give two shits about the English voice cast so that's a non-issue to me (I just think it makes more sense for Japanese characters to speak Japanese in Japan lol). I feel bad for the people who enjoy the English VC and have different voices for the same characters between games though.
I can definitely see why they don't need a remake persona 4 but let's be honest this is atlas here they'll do it given how well persona 3 reload hopefully this happens after persona 6 if they're going to do it
Tbh idc if persona4 got remade and it became too easy. All I care about is characters and story. Making the game easy makes me enjoy it more. So shift or baton pass away💅🏻
Agree I really don’t mind having a easier gameplay besides p4g gameplay was already easy. VA wise I really don’t mind I’ll get used to them soon if all the cast got new VA’s.
I'd love a remake of P4. They don't need to do it immediately, probably after P6 and whatever it's deluxe version is. Remaking P4 so it's more manageable and not outdated is definitely a necessity, just not something we need yet.
I for one am not a person that likes RPG's but persona 5 made a nice way for me to have fun on rpg's. This is also the reason why I want to play persona 3 reload and if there is a persona 4 rewind, I think it wouldn't hurt anyone becuase, y'know, you CAN play persona 4 golden, if they make a re-master, you can still play persona 4 golden if you want to, nothing's stopping you
you will slowly get better at the games and the simplified easier gameplay will mean the games have even less replayability to you even if the hardest difficulty is the easiest sure your a new fan to these games but you will eventually find yourself getting bored at the lack of gameplay when theres a suggestion button that tells you what hits the enemies weakness etc etc as ive said enjoy it while you can but you will end up wanting a game that has gameplay and not what current persona is
yall are mad if you enjoy P3 and P4s dungeons, extremely dull and repetitive, especially considering the length of these games P5s palaces where universally praised for a reason, they were much more fun to explore since they were actual places, with themes, and puzzles not randomly generated but ultimately identical grids sorry about that ”replaybility” but P4 just plain old sucks in the dungeon department, its the same dozen floors repeated throughout the game with a boss at the end and different music
I want a remake just to enjoy new versions of the soundtrack... maybe even new tracks. Full Moon Full Life and It's Going Down Now were absolute bangers! 🎉
I love how the NPCs evolve over time as well. They feel like "school friends". People you only interact with at school and you act friendly towards and your bond with them will somewhat grow as they get to know you. I'm talking about the faceless NPCs too. P5 has the most by far. I love how their dialogue changes like every two weeks. ATLUS NPCs are top tier easily. They're so fun and make me push back against "ai written NPCs" all the more because ATLUS's have such a soul to them.
p3 still doesnt have a best way to play it as reload lacks combat features from the original and fes such as multiple weapon types, the old knockdown system, accuracy differences between single hit and multi hit skills, good tactics menu, portrait cut ins during overworld interactions any style/flaire/personality the Og p3 and fes had is missing in reload reload is missing the femc route meaning you would still have to play portable a compromised demake of p3 as its social links are somewhat necessary to get a far deeper understanding of the male party members and awesome slinks like saori, portable also has some cool cameos like p4’s inaba and vincent from catherine which is also missing in reload reload is also to experience every single bit of content an over 130 purchase while fes remains $20 on the playstation store and the p3p port is also similarly priced you may sail the 7 seas for them as they’re both older then 10 years at this point but thats a discussion for another day
@@ACursedJessie Those arguments are all valid, but I still loved reload. I can't recommend anyone get it at full price though, especially now with the dlc on top. My hot take is that at the end of the day, reload was actually fun for me to play unlike the original versions of p3.
I'm finishing P4G, I can already feel the emptiness, I'm in Feb. I'm already thinking about what game to play next, any recommendations? I'm between P3 Reload and P5 Royal (btw, I'm someone who started p3p but never finished it, out of discouragement and because p4g is more fun, less depressing, but I'm willing to play it because I liked the story, only the gameplay doesn't tell me much).
I don't think P4 needs a remake because Golden is the definitive version. And pretty much everyone agrees with that sentiment. Unlike with P3R people still don't agree it's the definitive version.
Really like what you had to say about Naoto- her story is her OWN story, it isn’t a story meant to satisfy a current day social issue. And it is a real issue many women face, which isn’t necessarily related to the LGBTQ+ community. I’m happy to see LGBTQ characters, but I’d rather not see them get relegated to remake replacements, as that kinda ruins things rather than promoting acceptance. 🤷♂️
bleh period peice art is very much so a lost concept as its usually made for shit like 100 years ago, talking about a time where people were less socially conscious or accepting of the LGBT community it was a time we can accept it
Coming off of 3, I really liked Persona 4. However, I personally would find a Persona 4 Reimagining (NOT A REMAKE) to be a charming idea. At least to me, there were parts of Persona 4's story that felt weak, hampered in, or not built up enough. Izanami specifically would have a huge benefit given how to me, Ameno Sagiri was the perfect final boss, and Izanami just had me staring at the screen like 😐. Personally, I think she should've had a better build up, something foreshadowing her, more hints and clues, but just enough to keep it subtle. Persona 4's story could be rearranged better to fit, you know, an actual investigation team, instead of a rescue one. Sure, each time a culprit is found, you ask random people for different hints and clues. However it eventually became incredibly repetitive and boring to me, I would love to see some kinda of evolution of the investigation side. Also Give the story some progression instead of just waiting periodically for the next Culprit. The only time the team is really digging into the narrative is when Naoto is with them. And if anything, give Persona 4 some mechanical (in the midnight channel) identity beyond the fusion calendar. Sure, you could argue Reload didn't have the exact mechanics of FES, but what it brought from later entries at least contributed to the games themes and messages. Persona 4 (out of the hashino trilogy) is the most basic on an RPG scale, but very interesting aesthetically. Which is why I would love to see something like this reimagined. Don't worry, I'm in no way saying P4's story is bad, (besides Izanami) but it could definitely be executed a LOT better. I think new story beats alluding to the factors of each culprit would be greatly appreciated. There's so many genuine ideas that it could really work for the best. But yeah definitely keep that voice cast it's too iconic.
I’ll be honest I wouldn’t mind them implementing some kind of romance route with Kanji but damn would they have to be delicate with it and I kinda don’t trust Atlas with that lmao. Granted, saying that, they handled Naoto pretty damn well in her romance route with her feeling comfortable in her gender and such. In my, admittedly bias opinion lmao, I think that Kanji shouldn’t get a direct confirmation of his sexuality as that spits in the face of his whole social link. I think it would just be a smaller kind of relationship without a big fanfare both because of the times and because it feels more realistic that it wouldn’t be like fucking streamers and so on lol. Plus I just think it would be nice to see this slight awkwardness between the mc and Kanji in a romance route in a way that can show off the period it was set in (Admittedly this should also be true in a Yosuke romance route and would 100% be a lot less difficult to work with than Kanji due to how particular you have to be with Kanji’s development compared to the fact that Yosuke was kinda written to be able to have a romance route but was pussied out at the last second). Another small thing with it is that I think they should still keep in Kanji being flustered over Naoto even in a romance route, not because of a cheating aspect fuck no, but just because it’s genuinely adorable for one and second I also kinda don’t want to lose the dynamic of Kanji and Naoto cause they work so damn well with eachother. Then again, I’ll also just settle for Yosuke lol but I will just be happy to have more content of one of my favourite characters in the series. Also they shouldn’t have an implied sex scene with Kanji in my opinion just because that feels way too damn forward as I want to route to be more like the fan made Ryuji one in Royal with Ryuji exploring himself and being visibly taken aback and initially walks out on the mc’s confession. For both Yosuke and Kanji (and for any male romance routes actually) they should really make sure it shows as a product of the times. Unrelated notes. The fog ( in dungeons in particular, it kinda give the same atmosphere as the flowers in Kamoshida’s or the confetti in Shido’s palace) and dinginess of the game really should stay. The voice cast changing is terrifying but I’m just gonna hope and pray that the new va’s manage to pull off the characters as well as golden’s cast. Dungeons, I think, could do with some smaller changes. One is having maybe more set floor designs at certain floors or have those set floors that can appear randomly (like some kind of smaller floor to play into the whole idea of old Japanese tv like having a game show segment in Yukiko’s dungeon or something or just a smaller room with a stronger enemy). Another smaller thing is maybe increasing the length of the dungeons to balance the introduction of set floors so that there is more randomly generated ones to break up any puzzles. Another small thing is new variants of overworld shadows in dungeon, small but it could just add even more spice to the overworld in dungeons. Also, not a change but just a note, the dungeon music in 4 was fucking banging. For the baton pass like thing, maybe just lock it at one pass per allies turn (idk tho I don’t balance games lol). Speaking of balancing, Rise the motherfucking god of hyperdeath. I think that they should restrict her at only being able to show up on the mc’s turn and get rid of the revive and she would end up being decent I think maybe lol. Also Yukiko should most definitely be nerfed and everyone should be brought to the same level (dunno how, dunno how to balance stuff lol). Another small thing I want to see is all the midnight channel segments being proper cutscenes cause the anime is a million times funnier for me (aside from Naoto’s, I just like how ominous the game one is so maybe just trying recreate that but I honestly dunno). Also I would love them to put just little day out things like in Reload outside of the social link just because it’s just more of my overall favourite cast of social links. Finally, those three bizzare extra attacks (twin dragons, dunno what they’re called). Fuck ultra op attacks, I just want them to buff these attacks and add some more then boom, I think it would add and extra bit of flair to battles Anyway that’s the end of my autism fueled rant about a remake. Also from what I’ve seen of the first game of P2 they definitely deserve a remaster or full blown ground up remake
P1 should get a remake before 4. I don't want a remake of 4. I think the game is great as it is. Knowing Atlus Marie's dungeon might get cut out and we have to buy the dlc to experience that. No thanks. Also I hope future persona games let's enemies use shift/baton pass.
honestly getting swept by a bunch of shadows baton passing to eachother is the wakeup call modern fans need to see to understand why it is typically a very unbalanced mechanic
Persona 4 may not need a remake, but it definitely DESERVES one. No, not right now. Something for after Persona 6, at the very least. But I think it's unlikely and unfair that Persona 4 will be left without a modernized version along the lines of Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal. It was the first game in the Persona franchise that took off (and was responsible for the emergence of spin-offs), it's the game with the best characters and social links, and it's one of the games that the Persona community is most fond of because of the memes, music, anime, etc. Persona 1 and 2 are more like SMT than what people know as "Persona" (calendar mechanics, social links, relationships, and so on), and putting these mechanics in the first two games without changing the story is unfeasible. It's much more logical to make a good remaster of the first two games, with ports for consoles and PC, and make a remake of 4.
The problem with homophobia in Persona 4 mostly boils down to Yosuke. He spends the entire game making fun of Kanji, who is supposed to be his friend and teammate, yet Yosuke enjoys making him angry and uncomfortable. I don't think it's unreasonable to say that he should have had some sort of "redemption" scene, where he apologises to Kanji for belittling him. It's not like people in 2011 didn't know how not to be assholes towards their friends. It feels like Atlus learned their lesson too. In P5 Ryuji does apologise to the player for his selfish and rude behaviour, he actually grows and changes as a character. If there ever is a P4 remake it would be disappointing if Yosuke did not reflect on his actions, despite the writing team's improvement.
Honestly, Persona 4 needs a remake more than Persona 3 did. The gameplay in P4 is much more bare-bones and boring and most of the story events just haven't aged well. Sure the voice cast will likely get changed, but most of the original voice actors may return to play other characters like they did in Reload.
Nah 3 needed it more it wasn't as accessible as 4 and there was no party control unless you were playing portable but it lacked any cutscenes and the answer so you were basically missing a lot with portable
i actually made a point of that in one of my videos discussing my time with reload after watching the movies moving to the japanese vas rather then the new english ones were worth it
I would say that at some point we should get a Persona 4 remake. The game is now 12 (going to 13) years old and at some point will show its age and being honest I would love to see the new HD models and quality of life feature for Persona 4. Me personally, I think when it comes to Remakes there should be a long enough time where the original is still great to play but be remade for the sake of introducing it into a new audience so the IP/Franchise doesn’t remain stagnate. I believe at some point Persona 4 would be a great edition to be remade considering the era of games it came from and the improvements it can get in the modern age.
Pls if dont make the opening song a big spoiler, like in golden. PLS. I know most of us already played the game, but if you try to make a friend play the game, this just mess the plot of the game.
Even as someone who has p4 as their least fav neosona im like, god atlus do not touch this game. i still like p4 bc the special elements that make it stand out so dont make it not stand out by making it persona 5!!!!
i just dont want something that feels as souless as reload did, it has been so long with so much stuff they could have done but it was a cut and dry remake without any innovation to the point it was just depressing. A Persona 4 remake would most likely do the same thing unfortunately, unless Atlus is willing to reimagine the game without being as souless as reload without making the game lose it's identity then I hope we never get a remake
I don't care if predesigned dungeons are worse on a second playthrough, they are infinitely better designed than any roguelite crap comes up with. God I hate auto generated shit it's so boring
I remember this debacle in Soul Hackers 2. That game had predesigned dungeons and the players weren't having it. Well sure, it had more problems but like samey environments and themed levels back to back, but I don't hear complaints about those in other games.
I think the main problem with Persona 4 is that as time goes on, it'll become more problematic than any other Persona game purely because of the subjects the characters talk about. Yosuke's homophobia, the discourse around Kanji and Naoto, the camping trip - with time, all the worst aspects of Persona 4 will be made even worse. Persona 2 Innocent Sin is still a really fun game for me to play through, because it handles topics really progressively, even if on accident (BL for the win I guess?), whereas Persona 4s age will continue to show years into the future. I think on every other standpoint - No, Persona 4 doesn't need a remake. The gameplay is still fun, if easy towards the endgame. The Social links are still some of the better ones in the series and Inaba is by far and away the best location. In conclusion, I will go play modded p4 where they remove the Yosuke homophobia and add back in his romance option.
It's "homophobia" that blossoms into true bromance, even if isn't explicitly highlighted (which is for the better: show, don't tell and all that). I think that shows growth and knowing more about who you are as a person.
Personally I don't want a 4 remake specifically because reload to me felt like it lost what made persona 3 unique. Reload clearly took far more influence from 5 than it did 3 when to comes to visuals and style. Like I love the theurgy attacks as they're basically just Showtime's but that's just it, they're just showtimes. Which fit with the mood and style of 5 but I don't think they fit with the mood and style of 3 and I fear that a 4 remake will follow in the same footsteps. Hopefully I was able to articulate this well.
you did, if they were able to improve the graphics and world of inaba without getting rid of what made persona 4 unique with its atmosphere and gameplay id be more then happy to but since it looks like atlus want to make all their persona remakes reflective of their most current popular game its concerning similarly to how pokemon fans dont want a black and white remake
why do people like yourself comment on videos saying I don’t like this thing as it is fact, if its not for you cool have fun with midsona 5 and persona 3 cumload but what makes p4 the weakest? why, what makes its writing objectively bad? other then i don’t like it lets have an actual discussion on its writing
i dread a P4 remake purely because it would probably just be reload 2. the gameplay will just be dumbed down, the atmosphere and presentation will be butchered, and there wont be any interesting new directions taken with the writing or plot. itll just be persona 4 again, but with a new voice cast, and royal's piss-easy gameplay. im fine just playing golden.
I hate to be that guy, but persona 4 has some of the most bare bones gameplay in the entire megaten franchise, not to mention the game is already stupidly easy until you get to the parts where shadows are levels ahead of you and wreck your shit because you didn’t pass the level check
@@donaldtrump2728that's not exactly a bad thing in and of itself. Maybe we don't need another way of getting one mores, maybe it's better to understand light and dark resistance when it's instakill only, so you don't get confused if you should use that Eiha or Kouha skill, etc.
No the game definitely needs a remake 1. because itd be fucking awesome 2. its old as shit now and could use some less outdated and i guess less boring gameplay
I feel like p1 and p2 need the remake treatment more than p4, but I not against a p4 remake.
yeah, but what if they added mario as a party member? 🧐🤔

@@OniGama567yes but they could improve the gameplay with remakes
My first persona game was Persona 3, and then played both Persona 2 games and then persona 1. I played 4 and five as well. But for me personally, I really like the random generated dungeons more than the Persona 5 palaces.
thank you, a sane person has finally entered the comments section
I completely agree
It warms my heart seeing a fellow creator inspired from our work! Keep it up!
I have no idea what you’re talking about here.
the floor layouts change, and as each floor is randomised finding the stairs to get up each floor while fighting or avoiding shadows in the narrow corridoors is more engaging then the palaces in persona 5, as persona 4’s have corridoors in each dungeon that are random every time although they dont change in appearance and music getting to the next floor is different due to the amount of things that change due to RNG, persona 5 is the same every palace no changes every single time, theres no difficulty, the controller has a button that finds a weakness for an enemy and puts your cursor on it Braindead game that never changes
p4 combat based dungeons > persona 5 puzzle based palaces
the puzzles dont change in persona 5 persona 4 has puzzles and its 1 or maybe 2 floors in a dungeon its not mind numbing to explore like persona 5
I posted your comment into my discord server yesterday and a majority of people disagreed with your take if you wanna discuss it with them further, then feel free to do so theres a link to it under a majority of my videos
tldr i like games that are focused on the game part of the game not the spectacle
Plus you could add when what sl are available and which ones were to rank up in the ui meun
And the va thing, im fine with since p3r pulled it off pretty well and people seem to like it.
A personal onw for me is for the remake to lean into the horror angel of p4 imo
social link bonuses in p5 where awesome, take a RPG’s skill tree, and put them inside of the persona social link system
it worked wonders into making sure social links had more purpose, they were kinda busted on Royal but Royal is ultimately a very poorly balanced game, i would be massively disappointed if atlus scrapped this idea in p6
If they can make it like Persona 3 rewind it would be perfect albeit awkward because it already came out on the Vita and PC recently in HD
But I really do want a rewind remake of persona 4G.
It's too perfect
how are the dungeons awful
Imo the dungeons were just ok at best, they were quite basic and the gimmicks sucked besides Goldens new dungeon
@@snickerdoodle2828 first human to ever say that
I agree... somewhat. I think that half of the og dungeons range from mediocre to trash. I think that the new one in Golden was very good, imo
@@ACursedJessie And here I thought that this was the most widely recognized view on p4's dungeons
Nobody plays any modern Persona game for challenging gameplay tbh, they are easy once you are used to mechanics
This will most likely come after the inevitable Digital Devil Saga Duology HD remaster and even until after Persona 6 meaning we will not be seeing a P4 remake until well after lot of these issues are made irrelevant (besides the personal nit picks that will never be resolved due to their nature as personal nit picks that everyone has)
ATLUS!!! GIVE ME PERSONA 4 RERUN, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS 🔊 🗣
I played p4 and i loved it.. but the thing that worries me the most is that they gonna dumb down story themes like the thing with naoto and kanji. I would like the story to remain as faithful as it can be (and maybe they can add story elements but nothing that contradicts the main story and charecters)
Man, I remembered when i first played Persona on Nintendo Squid, it was amazing!
The only thing i'd wish from a remake of persona 4 would be more variety in what the bosses do and higher difficulty but we all know that Atlus would probably make the opposite²

Ngl for me a thing i think a persona 4 remake inspired by reload or p5 wouldn't really work, cause inaba is not a stylish place, it's just a cozy little space that has seen better days, you can't put p5 glamour and style on the shops cause inaba just isn't that, the only thing i would want if there would be a p4 remake is the Yosuke romance, cause that one feels needed for me, it's the missing piece that makes everything around yosuke fit so if there needs to be one, please be that
you think tatsumi port island had style? it was like just chopped up small 3d areas if even that
i dont think it would work and i dont doubt theyd just make it like p5/reload
@@ACursedJessie I meant it more as a modern place, a place that's always rushing if it makes any sense, like both p3 and p5 have a bit of that always moving city thing, while p4 is a lot slower, it's a city where not a lot happens every day, if it makes any sense, so if they made the remake it wouldn't be able to have the same vibe inaba had if it was made like p5.

I agree that the random dungeons are better especially on a repeat run
While my favourite dungeons in the series are actually persona 1's i think the random generated stuff isn't awful like some people make it out to be, however i actually prefer the p3fes style of Tartarus as opposed to the TV world, i think it might be just that i prefer FES's with its knockdown rules, while stunlocking is certainly a bit of an issue is especially late game Fes it is a pain to draw out an entire fight like that. Still prefer p4 dungeons to p5 tho.
I also don't think atlus should make persona dungeons closer to nocturne or DDS, while nocturne dungeons can be quite fun i can't imagine a casual player would want to solve kabukicho prision from nocturne in the middle of their life sim/rpg game, although i could see maybe persona 6 taking the SMT V approach in having bigger more open areas to explore but not an actual open world.
yeah i think persona is for casuals and i hope they go back to dungeons that arent setpeices and are rather more random like tartarus or tv world
I would prefer Persona 1 and 2 to get remakes instead. I wouldn’t care if they had the same stories, just an updated look and gameplay
in other words
i want this to be remade as i dont like it how its currently presented idek if its the original story i just wanna be able to say i played them
with 1 and 2, they did do an attempt back in the psp and other then Eternal punishment psp which is actually pretty good for what it is, p1 and p2IS makes reload look like a masterpiece of a remake, so it can feel a bit...weird very few have noticed a similar divide on an updated release when more or less we've had this song and dance happen before
Tbh, I like P5's dungeons and I think the puzzles make them more interesting to go through, but at the same time, I'm a Zelda fan so I'm used to doing similar puzzles in dungeons. Lol. It is an interesting discussion to have.
im a part of the problem ive bought p5 4 times despite it being a game i dont like all too much lol
I don't want another rewind.
I want Persona 6. It's been almost 8 years. If GTA 6 comes out before Persona 6, someone at Atlus is getting slammed with a steel chair.
Tbf GTA 5 came out like 4 years before persona 5 did
your comment… its giving WWE wrestler vibes
People will want Persona 7 the day after P6 releases... quality needs time, especially if they will base another 10 spinn-off titles on it 😵💫
All the rumors and credible leakers including Midori herself claim Persona 6 is next
We don't "need" a Persona 4 remake, but with how good P3 Reload was I want one now
I read the thing about Karen Strassman and it's really really gross how it'll start as a conservative leaning opinion, and people will twist that into her being a slur-slinging racist.
I feel bad for the people who enjoy the English VC and have different voices for the same characters between games though.
the localisation is too good tho
Agreed, they even translated words on some textures which is not what most japanese games do when localizing their games.
I can definitely see why they don't need a remake persona 4 but let's be honest this is atlas here they'll do it given how well persona 3 reload hopefully this happens after persona 6 if they're going to do it
yup :(
I love persona but your criticism is spot on now I’m scared 😂
Tbh idc if persona4 got remade and it became too easy.
All I care about is characters and story.

if the gameplay is so easy you dont have to think while playing you might as well just watch a lets play
Remaking P4 so it's more manageable and not outdated is definitely a necessity, just not something we need yet.
itd be funny if they just used the reload engine

I for one am not a person that likes RPG's but persona 5 made a nice way for me to have fun on rpg's. This is also the reason why I want to play persona 3 reload and if there is a persona 4 rewind, I think it wouldn't hurt anyone becuase, y'know, you CAN play persona 4 golden, if they make a re-master, you can still play persona 4 golden if you want to, nothing's stopping you
you will slowly get better at the games and the simplified easier gameplay will mean the games have even less replayability to you even if the hardest difficulty is the easiest
sure your a new fan to these games but you will eventually find yourself getting bored at the lack of gameplay when theres a suggestion button that tells you what hits the enemies weakness etc etc
as ive said enjoy it while you can but you will end up wanting a game that has gameplay and not what current persona is
yall are mad if you enjoy P3 and P4s dungeons, extremely dull and repetitive, especially considering the length of these games
P5s palaces where universally praised for a reason, they were much more fun to explore since they were actual places, with themes, and puzzles not randomly generated but ultimately identical grids
sorry about that ”replaybility” but P4 just plain old sucks in the dungeon department, its the same dozen floors repeated throughout the game with a boss at the end and different music
I don't think its an awful idea outright, but I don't think its needed like it was for p3 (in my opinion).
p3 still doesnt have a best way to play it as reload lacks combat features from the original and fes such as multiple weapon types, the old knockdown system, accuracy differences between single hit and multi hit skills, good tactics menu, portrait cut ins during overworld interactions
any style/flaire/personality the Og p3 and fes had is missing in reload
reload is missing the femc route meaning you would still have to play portable a compromised demake of p3 as its social links are somewhat necessary to get a far deeper understanding of the male party members and awesome slinks like saori, portable also has some cool cameos like p4’s inaba and vincent from catherine which is also missing in reload
reload is also to experience every single bit of content an over 130 purchase while fes remains $20 on the playstation store and the p3p port is also similarly priced
you may sail the 7 seas for them as they’re both older then 10 years at this point but thats a discussion for another day
@@ACursedJessie Those arguments are all valid, but I still loved reload.
Unlike with P3R people still don't agree it's the definitive version.
i think persona 4 as it is with hd models would be nice if they were to remake the game but i think modders are capable of that
Really like what you had to say about Naoto- her story is her OWN story, it isn’t a story meant to satisfy a current day social issue.
But if we don't get a remade/reload how am i gonna get my yosuke romance route? 😔
mods
I don't want to see the characters of kanji and naoto disrespected. You know they are going to if they do make a remake.
many such cases
Fuck ultra op attacks, I just want them to buff these attacks and add some more then boom, I think it would add and extra bit of flair to battles
Anyway that’s the end of my autism fueled rant about a remake.
Fun fact: P3 reload has the same voice actors in japanese
i actually made a point of that in one of my videos discussing my time with reload after watching the movies moving to the japanese vas rather then the new english ones were worth it
I would like P4 remake but just update to the graphics

I was going to brush after I finished watching...
I believe at some point Persona 4 would be a great edition to be remade considering the era of games it came from and the improvements it can get in the modern age.
more like stupei ace defecti
Ive never played a persona game before I just enjoy watching the vids lmao
thats pretty cool
Cry about it.
Edit: I would cry about the cast changing 😭
perhaps you should consider waiting until the end before you comment in the future, silly
@@ACursedJessie hell no I am silly like that
Vegetables won't be as great in the remake as they were in the OG anyway.
great vegetables was a golden addition
I completely agree
Pls if dont make the opening song a big spoiler, like in golden. PLS. I know most of us already played the game, but if you try to make a friend play the game, this just mess the plot of the game.
how its not like the endgame is referenced like marie or namatame or izanami
Even as someone who has p4 as their least fav neosona im like, god atlus do not touch this game. i still like p4 bc the special elements that make it stand out so dont make it not stand out by making it persona 5!!!!
this is the fear persona fans with a cranium betwixt their shoulders have to go through unfortunately good chap
i just dont want something that feels as souless as reload did, it has been so long with so much stuff they could have done but it was a cut and dry remake without any innovation to the point it was just depressing.
YES BUT IT WILL BE P4 REMAKE THE NEXT REMAKE
Doesn't p2 have Hitler in it?
dont remove yosukes projection its important to his character
It's "homophobia" that blossoms into true bromance, even if isn't explicitly highlighted (which is for the better: show, don't tell and all that).
I think that shows growth and knowing more about who you are as a person.
Youre super charismatic. Great vid
Nah , day one buy for me 😂
One more comment to boost the algorithm
Cancel culture is so stupid. All she apparently did was like a few of Trumps tweets one point in time. Big deal.
Karen strassmen did more then like someones tweets, shes anti vax, anti blm and supported nfts
shes overall a controversial figure
It already had a remake with golden. Make new games instead of repeatedly whoring out the old one like it's Skyrim.
i think theres better examples then skyrim for a game thats endlessly been remade like the last of us or minecraft even
Yeah but...
no
Personally I don't want a 4 remake specifically because reload to me felt like it lost what made persona 3 unique.
It is the weakest of the modern three, so whatever, but It will be fun to see how the new pubic will react to the bad writing on this one
why do people like yourself comment on videos saying I don’t like this thing as it is fact, if its not for you cool have fun with midsona 5 and persona 3 cumload
but what makes p4 the weakest?
why, what makes its writing objectively bad?
other then i don’t like it lets have an actual discussion on its writing
Wrong.
good job on reading the title and thumbnail and not watching the video 👍

You're welcome
i dread a P4 remake purely because it would probably just be reload 2. the gameplay will just be dumbed down, the atmosphere and presentation will be butchered, and there wont be any interesting new directions taken with the writing or plot. itll just be persona 4 again, but with a new voice cast, and royal's piss-easy gameplay. im fine just playing golden.
No the game definitely needs a remake
1. because itd be fucking awesome
2. its old as shit now and could use some less outdated and i guess less boring gameplay
I subbed btw
Honestly, I don't think Persona 4 needs a remake because it's just not that great of a game imo.
