Very nice work! Just hope you don't have to do it on the S4 with the 4.2. I had to do the high pressure and return line a few weeks ago. (not fun for driveway work)
Good stuff! I would have maybe replaced the motor mount “while you were in there” if they are still original. Good info/research on the ps fluid types!
hey, could you tell me more about this steering judder you are refering to. im trying to diagnose my girlfriends b8 a4 2.0 tdi cag. when steering lock to lock, it whines quite bad from the engine. it sounds like the accessory belt slipping on the servo pump, the sound was worse before, so we replaced belt and tensioner, this helped a bit, but my therory is that the servo pump needs to work to hard that the belt slips creating the whining noice. could this maybe be a faulty pump, or the steering line you just replaced, we havent noticed any leak, or tight steering. the reservoars is full with fluid. i will say, me coming from other car brands like bmw, find it strange that her steering feels a bit heavy while making tighter turns, never experienced that in any car. maybe she bought it like that? sorry for alot of text, but could you explain what u mean with judder? and if you experienced belt slippage, atleast that is what it sounds like. worst on lock, but is audible during regular slow speed turning.
Hey Simon - In my case (and I think most examples of the low speed steering issues) it isn't related to the belt, nor is it typically the pump. In the "judder" that most people describe, there's really no noise associated to it; it's felt in your hands through the steering wheel. It feels like a moderate pulsing when you're at or near full lock, rolling at idle power speed like when you're reversing or moving forward while parking. Have you removed the transmission belly pan? You may not see any leaking around the pump or anywhere in sight from the engine bay, but the lines tend to weep from a few connections and the fluid can travel around.
Ive a 2.7 A6 2007 , it feels like it doesnt accelerate and in uphill when i start it goes a little back and ive to press gas . Ive done all maintaince right , only 3 things i have in my mind , Egr , spark plugs or smth bad with brakes , which will it be , ive even too much fuel consume in city , 15 lit for 50 km with brakes , which will it be , ive even too much fuel consume in city , 15 lit for 50 km
In progress! As much as I'd like to be a full time RUclipsr and spend my days in the garage, summer gets super busy (when there's only 4 months of proper whether to be productive) with all sort of projects around the house. Not that anyone cares what's happening outside of the garage, much of my time has gone towards landscaping since spring. You should see the part stash growing though...it's gonna be good.
Great video. Explained it very well in detail. Precise and Concise. Two thumbs up for you, Sir.
The sunsong power steering hose comes in two pieces, no need to mess with motor mounts or subframe. Made this a 1 hour job!
You have a part number? Rock auto number SUNSONG 3402887 don't see the 2 piece - car has dynamic steering thou.-

10 months later how has this Meyle hose worked out for your Audi? Is the steering judder there and/or is the steering “heavy”?
Peachy. No leaks anywhere and the steering feels light and responsive.
Do u have to drop frame or what not on a 08 Audi 3.2? Awd??? Plz help
Great video man. I'm assuming the new line came supplied with the o- rings?
Correct - pre-lubed and installed on the hose. 👍
