    Tom Brady had 7 more interceptions than Allen has Rt now, at the same point in their careers, yet nobody called Brady a turnover machine. Peyton Manning also had more too. Josh is so good he is given less grace than any other QB when it comes to mistakes. He was robbed by the Pro Bowl and was better this year than both other selections. It seems like it's "cool to hate" Josh Allen.

      Mahomes had 22 interceptions in his MVP season, more than Allen has now, nobody criticized him that way. I disagree, he is def in the same category as those QBs, just like I think Elway, Montana, Young, Kelly, Marino, and a lot of other HOF caliber QBs are. I think Marino was more talented than Manning or Brady but was in a worse situation. All these guys are elite talent. 4 years of 40+ TDs is elite. Allen already has a ton of records.

    • @hairpunut
      @hairpunut 7 месяцев назад

      @@omeeawakened2371First off no, just no the bills beat the snot of Miami early in the year. Lost three major defensive players in two games, came back from a 6-6 to win second seed. While Lamar while playing great, hasn't done a ton. The ravens defense did alot more for him then he's done for the team. When your defense generates alot of turnovers it allows you to have an easier time to not only score more. But make you look better when you get ints and such half way down the field. It's a lot easier to get a TD off 50 the yardline. The starting from the 25 or so. That's the misconception here, by a large margin. Lamar didn't run 13-15 yards throw linebackers to get a first down on 4th down to keep the chains moving etc. To help lead their team to a victory. Josh Allen is 80% or more of his offense. Without him the bills are nothing. Lamars offense is maybe 50-60 % at least of this year anyway. He's had to do less to achieve more. Up till recently there was only 1-2 games where Josh didn't have to do everything. So with using facts and logic. This clearly points to Allen being the clear cut MVP. But again votes count instead of facts. Everyone wants to keep just throwing Lamar out there like he wasn't considered anything. When he won a MVP already and only won a single playoff game. So I'm not sure how you can sit here dead ass and go well Lamar is great but folds in the playoffs all the time. Dude has more ints then TDs in the playoffs. But has one of the best coaches in the game as well. So yeah idk all I'm saying is there is a lot of random stats to take into consideration before trying to justify one guy.

      @hairpunut 7 месяцев назад +12

      @@lsjmartin6220 So it's Allen's fault the coaches missing 12 men on the field or how the defense gave up big plays for TDs when Allen got them ahead in the game ? What sense are you trying to make. The whole video shows how even Mahomes does the same crap and is considered of the best QBs of all time. So stop pretending like josh Allen isn't. He's the only QB that can flick a football 50 yards across his chest. And do some crazy crap. You ain't seeing Lamar or Patty do the the things this man does. People keep trying to compare him to Philip rivers or big Ben or even Brett farve. But he's way better then those guys and is alot more athletic. He should've gotten the MVP in 2020 by a mile and got it taken from him. But even then this year his stats are even more crazy and he is still not and MVP because of games that were lost of not his fault. The dude just helped dig the team out of a playoff loss. And brought them back. Again the whole point of the video is to show that ints and turnovers aren't the whole story. And every QB is going to have them.

    It isn't the fact that he isn't being called the mvp that's strange. It's the fact that it isn't even a debate. And that's why you have to believe there's always something going on behind scenes.
    Edit: thanks for the likes and responses but another thing just dawned on me. If Allen beats the Chiefs this weekend and Lamar loses to the Texans, both a big, "if," but if that happens and Lamar is still frontrunner, then that's all the proof you need and it sucks that if the opposite happens, Allen has no case at all.

The problem being that those who vote, and those on most of the NFL shows who like to yell about stuff, don't care about all the nuance in the stats, and gravitate to turnovers, and turnovers only, which then defines or influences most peoples views. This will never change b/c that is not how the NFL shows create viewership (revenue), so I would never expect them to get to a true statistical analysis (and likely most aren't equiped to do so anyhow) save for PFF.

Talk about not having great receivers but his receivers get more separation than any other in the entire league. JA has the best postseason QBR out of any active QB with more than 1 game played in the postseason. JA's play can be directly attributed to 8 of the teams 11 wins. He account for 86% of the teams total TDs whereas Lamar accounted for just 54%, and the Ravens scored more points than the Bills. Lamar was only barely valuable to the Ravens in 2023. JA was essential. JA is only the second QB in history to lead the league in TDs and yards and not win the MVP. And he's done it twice now.

    This is a great video, but for no one that asked here’s my short opinion if you’re willing to read it:
    Josh Allen had a great season! Definitely the runner up to the MVP in my mind. He was on my fantasy team and was the #1 overall fantasy QB
    That being said, it’s about the win record and eye test.
    Lots of these graphs and data shared in this video have stats presented in a miss leading way. The biggest example that pops up is the “open receiver” stat around the 5min mark. What wasn’t mentioned is Lamars ability to extend plays to 7-12 seconds long to find the open receiver who broke from coverage as almost any NFL WR would do with that much time allotted.
    I’m definitely bias as my favorite team is the Ravens, but Lamar is just special and performs in that eye test that makes it hard not to vote for him as the league MVP!

      hey @ntgams1902 read the fine print on the chart you're questioning... it says "Scrambles excluded".
      I think Lamar played really well this year and I think he's a great QB. But anyone that watched the Bills this year could see that the Bills WRs and scheme are bottom tier, and Josh has been making up for them-providing more incremental value than any player for their team. Which is what an MVP is.
      Diggs had such a down year that PFF had him rated lower than Skyy Moore. Yes PFF is not great, but it's better than telling you to just take my word for what I saw in the All-22. Yes I watch the All-22.

      This is the first year Lamar Jackson has had anything close to elite star power receiver support outside of Andrews and he's a tight end. And Josh still had better receivers. Josh Allen has had Diggs and Gabe Davis the past few years which makes him have better targets to rack up stats with.@@JBeremy

    The MVP award is more about spectacle than stats. The way the end of this season was scheduled gave Lamar the spotlight and he performed better than he had all season while everyone was watching. Primetime game against the Jags (who at that point were one win away from owning the 1 seed) Collinsworth gushes all over Lamar when he spins away from pressure and throws a prayer up to his TE who makes a great catch between 2 defenders. The next week Christmas night against SF 49ers, Lamar has a solid game and gets the win. Then the Ravens play the #2 seed dolphins for a chance to clinch the AFC 1 seed and he goes off 5 TDs no picks. Over this stretch he only threw 1 int. Not saying its right (This whole award is subjective anyway), but when the NFL put Lamar in primetime and in the biggest moments against the perceived best teams in the league, he looked like the best player.

    Y’all don’t understand how often Lamar led the ravens down the field, got them to the 5 yard line, & then 1 of the 10 different RBs got to run in it for a TD & get all the credit, because their short yardage inside run game is so dominant.
    Meanwhile, these other QBs didn’t have to fight for their stats as hard as Lamar because they didn’t have an unstoppable run game stealing scores away from them.

    This whole video mis-represents the facts. It makes it out that Josh Allen has been so superior and overcome this terrible team, but Lamar has a great team.
    The Bills have 22 rushing TDs this year, Allen has 15 of them, 8 of them inside 3 yards. The Ravens have 26 rushing TDs, and Jackson has 5. James Cook only has 2 rushing TDs. Gus Edwards has 13 rushing TDs, 11 of which are within 3 yards, and none of which are longer than 7 yards. James Cook is a much better back than Gus Edwards, they just don't give him the goal line carries. Lamar doesn't have a better roster and team around him. The Bills clearly have better offensive weapons, better running backs (Ravens top 2 injured), 2 really good TEs (Andrews has been hurt half of this year), Diggs is much better than any receiver the Ravens have. Half of these comments are talking about what an elite running game the Ravens have, but they don't have any elite running backs, their starter (JK Dobbins) was hurt week 1, their 2nd best running back (Keaton Mitchell) is also out for the year. I wonder why guys at the end of their career like Melvin Gordon, Kenyan Drake, Le'Veon Bell, etc, all come to the Ravens and have a measure of success.....it's because of Lamar. You think all that extra separation that Ravens receivers have is because they're such elite receivers? No, it's because the defense doesn't want to play man coverage because of the threat of Lamar running.
    And the defenses are really not that different. The Ravens give up the 6th most YPG at 301.4, the Bills give up 9th most at 307.2, Ravens are 1st in PPG at 16.5 and the Bills are 4th at 18.3. Allen has had to SAVE the Bills late game because he hasn't gotten it done early in the games.

    Good video, but if you watched the NFL this year Lamar is absolutely the MVP. His stats aren't super crazy because he's played so well in the first half that they can basically just run the ball in the second half. Lamar is the most dominant player we've seen play the quarterback position in a long time and he's definitely the most efficient. Most of the time when he's QB the game is over by halftime. Josh Allen plays from behind alot and in close games so naturally his stats are going to be inflated. At the end of the day whether you agree or not it's his turnover issues that have kept him out of the MVP conversation this year.

    • @STEALTTH7
      @STEALTTH7 7 месяцев назад

      I'm sorry, but Lamar has not been more dominating than Allen. Especially when you look over the past 4 seasons. Since 2020, Allen is #1 in Total Touchdowns, #2 in total yards, has the highest scoring offense, 2nd most wins and has done better in the playoffs. THIS season for Lamar has been good and I think with the success of the team, he deserves consideration, but from a statistical standpoint, he is middle of the road in most QB stats and by MVP standards he is not on par with MVPs. His touchdowns are low and when you consider that Allen is 86% of his teams scores (which is INSANE) to Lamar who was in the 55% range, that is significant. Historically, Allen has been in the MVP conversation for 4 straight years and his last 4 seasons were more impressive than Lamar's and the Bills often sat him in a lot of games. When it came to total stats, he was still more productive and the voters never took that into consideration for him.

    I think that something you are overlooking here is the difference between how the ravens and bills offense operate in the red zone. When the ravens get there, most of the time they are handing it off to one of their running backs. On the other hand, the bills will get close to the goal line and use allen to sneak into the endzone. This season, 7 of Allen's rushing tds came from within 2 yards, and an additional 3 rushing tds came from within 6 yards. So while he is scoring more, it isn't because he is a better player, it's because their offenses are designed differently. It shouldn't be a knock against lamar that he is being smart with playcalling and doing what is most beneficial for his offense.

    • @lexross1465

      Most of allens rushing touchdowns are him making a play when there is nothing there not designed plays. So you say we shouldnt hold it against lamar but are holding it against josh allen. And your agrument cluld be overlooked if there was like a 5 touchdown difference but its a 15 touchdown difference.

    I agree 100% with this. I love Lamar and he is deserving but Josh outperformed him this year. The injuries to the defense, the drops, the offensive coordinator change, but most importantly the clutch moments put him over the top. In fact, it’s not just this year that the Bills have blown 4th quarter go ahead scores. He’s been doing this for several years. The Hail Murray game, the 13 seconds against the chiefs, and others are examples of the Bills defense being the worst enemy.

    Down the stretch of the season lamar faced some the best teams in the league and utterly dominated them, to the point where they wrapped up the #1 seed early and rested starters the final game. And before that there was a consistent string of 4 games where lamar would get the ravens a few yds from the goaline and make a deliberate effort to hand it off to a rb for the score so he easily couldve added about 8 more tds. The eye test is hard to beat and what he did the end of the season was the only thing brought him back from behind in the race

    1st of, great vid.. i watched it 'til the end.
    2nd i am a raven fan, and most certainly a lamar jackson fan that wishes he gets the mvp.
    3rd i would assume that the data you've presented is well researched for you to make an argument for josh allen's case for mvp
    but i would like to counter you're argument,
    1st the turnovers,
    you've compared him 1st to mahomes mvp season last year. yes their turnovers are close but you've missed the point that the chiefs are tied with the top record in the league (with eagles). yes they are 2nd in the afc but with the same records with 3 more teams.
    then you've compared him (josh allen's turnovers) to the last 3 qb's who won the superbowl. you've lost you're argument there because the nfl mvp is a regular season award. nobody is questioning josh allen's caliber in the playoffs, in fact it is the complete opposite of lamar jackson where his critics are more concerned of his performances in the playoffs.. so your argument in this aspect is flawed to down right wrong.
    then you've brought up EPA stat, to which i am not very familiar yet. so i will not make a statement for this.
    but then you've proceeded to his supposed GWD and Comebacks (Clutch),
    Before i proceed, i have a vid somewhere discussing (clutch). the vid states that ( i am parapharasing here) what led to you being in that situation. if you are a good team/player, you shouldn't be in this types of situations, And then you've brought up this season's Broncos and Patriots.. like come on now.
    The next comparison, made me comment on this video.. you've compared josh allen's total td's in his team's 6 losses vs lamar's td's in his team's 3 losses.. (like this is the very definition of you are valuable) allen plays great, his team still losses, lamar didn't had a great game his team losses.. (and i know there's more to this, but i'll save that for now)
    You've then presented josh allen's stats this season compared it to the league particulary lamar. (yeah josh allen's numbers are great)
    Another stat you've shown is the separation (openness) of the WR's. for me, it's more about the system in which you are playing.. it's more of a OC thing. which team/player has better OC..
    all this just to go back to stats argument. and then pressing the brakes, stating that numbers aren't everything (i agree)
    you then proceeded to stating the bills initial record (6-6) to winning 5-1.. inspite of having injuries (the entire league deals with this), drop of from your main guys ( for this purpose, i will adress that this is double whammy for baltimore when mark andrews went down) and a change of "OC".. see this? this is probably the turning point, i.have mentioned earlier when you discussed the (separation/openness of receivers). i said that it's more of a scheme rather than the players talent (ofcourse talent helps), but what's more important is how you utilize that talent..
    so just a recap,
    1.this season is particularly different than ever.
    2.stats dont matter if you are losing
    3.u cant argue playoff success/failure for a season award
    4.organization/coaching is still detrimental to success of the team (with or with less talent)
    5.i am hoping that the ravens win it all this season (SuperBowl) and many more to come, but nothing is promised. so if you are a Bills fan or just Josh Allen's fan or you just want to make his case. my friend, may the best team win.

No offense to Lamar, he's massively improved as a passer and is a great MVP candidate, but you put an average QB into these ravens and they're still a contender. Anyone who actually understands the importance of specific types of turnovers would understand that turnovers are one of the smallest issues the bills have. The fact is the bills were very unlucky record wise in the regular season and still won their division with an 11-6 record. They could have easily finished 12-5 or even 13-4. I mean, their biggest loss was by 6 points to the bengals in that stretch of games where Burrow was playing great football. And had that record been just a bit better there probably wouldn't even be a discussion to Allen being MVP

      They are 11-6 what are you talking about. They aren't dominating top seeds in the NFL. They winning games they should. They should beat the Steelers. If you put 100 points against them it's nothing to brag about considering they struggled all year. Josh is average with all those yards and losing like he is nothing to brag about. Even Brock had more yards then Lamar in the game and still lost. Your stats don't mean shit if you not significant where it needs to be. That's laughable I got more yards BUT YOU LOST!!!

    Josh Allen is 3rd behind Lamar and CMC. And that to me isnt particularly close. The bills were terrible to start the year and thats why they were out of the playoffs until the final month or whatever it was and Josh Allen is the entire offense. I do understand that and he gets credit for it but he also takes the lumps for when their offense floundered games away. but just because Allen is clutch diesnt mean you can use stats like game winning drives fir the MVP lmao Lamar was to busy winning all game long to need a comeback... Allen soared from probably top 20 in MVP voting to 3rd and thats plenty impressive.

    • @paythecreator4317
      @paythecreator4317 7 месяцев назад

      Not all you need to know. Add the fact Lamar Jackson has been lighting the league up without receivers like Gabe Davis and Diggs. And the fact Lamar Jackson's team has clearly at the end of the regular season been the best NFL team. The only problem is IMO the two best teams in the league are both in the same conference. Chiefs vs Ravens is the super bowl.

    • @paythecreator4317
      @paythecreator4317 7 месяцев назад

      Not to say the AFC will automatically win the super bowl because on any day...... But the fact is the road coming from the AFC was much harder than coming from the NFC. As a matter of fact, it is very likely that the Bills would have made it to the super bowl if they were in the NFC this season and not the tougher AFC. Josh has to keep grinding until he gets that super bowl. He's an awesome player.

    This 2023 version of Lamar is 100x better than 2019 version. Look what happens when you remove Greg Romans high school RPO offense and install Todd Monkens spread offense with actual NFL caliber receivers. Lamar’s decision making and pocket awareness have been remarkable this season. He is extending plays and never runs unless it’s a last resort.
    Look at the win loss stats for the ravens since Lamar took over in 2018. Now look at the games Tyler Huntley has started. It goes from 80% wins to 20% wins with no difference other than the QB.
    Lamar is the best QB in the nfl this season. Keep your stats im watching the games and what I see is Lamar beating 10 teams over .500 in the best division in football. All while Josh Allen throws pick after pick and barely comes back in the end.
