    Josh Allen , like Caitlyn Clark , like jimmer fedet(however you spell his name) , Larry Bird, Tommy Morrison , list goes on is the American idea of a white American great white hope....some live up to it , some don't. Larry Bird did , Caitlyn Clark is currently doing it so far , some has potential, and some just cant cut it like jimmer. But no matter what the get so hype , dangerously supported , and it gets to a point where people start making it up as they go along and fitting everything in a cup they can drink. Now understand, the great white hope isnt simply good like a peyton Manning or a tom brady , but also has attributes that makes people think "thats what black players do" and seeing how most sports are dominated by blacks , it will always look like an anomaly. But what it causes people to do is disregard that the same thing that makes Josh Allen look like MVP is equal to the same thing that makes you face palm yourself. He is the true definition of an unpredictable player and unfortunately for him , its more negatives than positives. So while we as fans , or even content creators shoot for specific narratives, the people that actually have to make the decisions look at it from a totally different unbiased perspective. Example, im a huge lamar fans so i hate the negative stuff , hell i hate this for assuming josh is more deserving than Lamar. When Lamar gets to soing the stuff that people say is his problem , i cringe and honestly, with myself i say here we go and i know what they're going to say and immediately my mind starts seeking a defense. I have learned slowly to overcome that. As soon as yall learn to do that with Josh Allen , you will see he has had great seasons , but giving thw context of games , outcomes and results, situations, just the whole breakdown , not just partial, he doesn't deserve an MVP over the other performances. just dont.....if Lamar didnt get it , or the other guys didnt , it'll been someone else , but not Allen.

    It really bothers me that Josh gets so much disrespect even though the results are right there. It's always been popular to hate Buffalo as a team and any stand out amazing players on the Bills. Small market they say. Even after Lamar watched his team play a playoff game from his recliner because his poor knee hurt. Dude wouldn't even travel with the team to encourage his backup quarterback and show support. And Burrow, with his fur coat and dark shades smoking a cigar in the locker room. What has he done? Made it to the SB once. Didn't win it, but dude is always in the conversation. At least Mahomes won a ring. Even though the NFL wanted it that way but Allen can do anything those dudes can do without the supporting cast, and that includes a defense that can't hold down a lead with 13 seconds left in a game. The guy has put Buffalo in position to win more that most people will admit. One last thing. Quite a few of those interceptions were in 3rd and long situations where the pick was better than a punt would have been. Planned? Maybe. Josh is a smart guy.

    Everything was good, except when you called Mahomes “the greatest to ever do it”. Just can’t disagree more. The guys has been average to below average in every Super Bowl. He’s had an insane amount of help. Haven’t seen him have to be like Brady or Brees or Montana and drag a team to the Super Bowl/ have those big Super Bowl games with multiple clutch throws. Brady had more in the falcons game alone than I’ve seen Mahomes have in every one of his. It’s usually a lot of below average play, then his team puts him back in it. Or he just doesn’t have to do much because his team has carried him along. He’s obviously way up there and great, but he needs to have that big game in a big game.

    His td/turnover ratio is still way worse than any of his 'elite' peers, like Herbert, mahomes or lamar. I think Josh Allen is great, but he's going to get more and more criticism if he doesn't improve

    • @caseyhonigbaum
      @caseyhonigbaum 5 месяцев назад

      The only real reason he gets criticism is because he hasn’t won a Super Bowl. The TD/turnover ratio, one, being way worse is a massive overstatement, the gap is pretty minuscule. Two, the Bills are the only team other than Mahomes’ Chiefs to win a playoff game in each of the last 4 seasons and have the second most regular season wins since 2019. If his turnovers were THAT big of an issue the team probably wouldn’t be that successful. Not to mention in 10 playoff games, you know, the ones that really matter, his TD/turnover ratio is second best all time, to only Mahomes.

    • @aaronsams8605
      @aaronsams8605 5 месяцев назад

      @caseyhonigbaum actually it's a pretty big difference, we'll start from low to high for his 'elite' peers. First up: Lamar at 2.75 td/turnover ratio. 2nd: Joe Burrow at 2.82. 3rd: Justin Herbert at 2.98. And finally, Patrick Mahomes with an astounding 3.55. Josh Allen is currently sitting at 2.39 throughout his career. Yes, this also includes his rushing tds/fumbles. I'll admit, most of the reason he's lost in the playoffs is no fault of his own, however I believe his playoff numbers are a little inflated by the defenses he's played against. This was shown to be the case this year when he averaged 5.6 ypa against the Steelers and Chiefs, two of the league's best. Lucky for him, the Steelers were starting Mason Rudolph and their offense committed two turnovers, one of which set up a 29 yard td drive. And of course, Jared Cook went for 79 yards and averaged 4.4 ypc and didn't get a touchdown thanks to the redzone playcalling, further juicing his stats in what probably should've been a decent game against a great defense. The Chiefs game though? That was rough. If your team is averaging about as many ypa on the ground as you do through the air, you've gotta do better. Luckily, he was playing the chiefs, who had one of the worst turnover margins in the league, largely in part to among the lowest int counts in the league at 8 on the season. I think if Josh Allen played teams like the 49ers, Browns, Ravens or Saints (and if two of those teams bothered to field a decent offense) that he'd get smoked.

    • @caseyhonigbaum
      @caseyhonigbaum 5 месяцев назад

      @@aaronsams8605 You are leaving out the fact that Allen has 1,000+ more pass attempts than Lamar and almost 800 more than Herbert, but, if you want to say Allen isn't as good as Jackson, Burrow, or Herbert because of a .6 difference in td/turnover ratio then I'm afraid I don't know what to tell you. In regards to your point about the playoffs, who cares what his YPA is or the defenses he has played against, what matters is putting your team in the best position to win the game, and aside from maybe the Bengals game, he has done that every single time. Your knock on Allen is his turnovers, yet when he doesn't turn the ball over in the most important games it's because he is juicing his stats? It's pretty obvious why he didn't throw the ball a ton against the Chiefs. They have the best defense in the league and the Bills were without a receiver with speed who could win down the field. They kinda had to run the ball and rely on short throws in space. To your point on James Cook, there is a reason Allen gets the short yardage runs and Cook doesn't, Cook is 5'11 190 lbs, he isn't a short yardage back. Allen is 6'5 237. He is the team's most powerful rusher, it's not rocket science. But let's also not forget Cook dropped a would-be easy TD pass in that game, so get outta here with "stat inflation." We could play the what-if game and say the Bills get smoked if they played the 49ers or Ravens but let's remember the Bills played the Chiefs (ya know the team that won the Super Bowl?) as tough as any team all postseason with 6 starters on defense injured, scored more points on them than any other team that postseason, and still only lost by 3 in a game where their kicker missed a FG. I could say if the defense was healthy and Bass made the FG the Bills win that game and we arent even having this conversation, but it unfortunately doesn't work that way.

    • @aaronsams8605
      @aaronsams8605 5 месяцев назад

      @caseyhonigbaum nonononono, .6 is a HUGE difference, that's a 15% difference going from Lamar to Allen alone and that's the worst comparison. Also, his pass attempts DO. NOT. MATTER. If the other qbs are putting up more or equal tds/season or att/season, then it's a viable comparison. That would be like saying you couldn't compare Tom Brady to Mahomes because he played 3x as long. Which I shouldn't need to tell you is braindead. Also, the bills DID throw the ball a lot, 39 attempts! Almost twice as many as mahomes! But he was ASS on those 39 attempts and the team averaged 4.7 yards per play. The Bills only kept it close because they had the ball for 37 minutes and the chiefs didn't get on the field much on offense and Mecole Hardman made sure they missed a drive, too. In the one game that Allen's defense didn't let him down, he let them down. That's a fact. The Chargers, Bengals, Ravens and Chiefs all had 2.7% int% or lower, while the Buffs were one of 7 teams with an int% over 3, at 3.1%. That puts him in the excellent company of: Minnesota's backups, Aidan O'Connell, Desmond Ridder/Marcus Mariota, Sam Howell, the Browns QB room and the Patriots QB room. Not a very good place to be. And by the way, that's a minimum difference of over 10% vs the 2.7% int% of the Chiefs and a maximum of 138% compared to the 1.3% Chargers. ONCE AGAIN, I think Josh Allen is great, but these are real stats and they're inexcusable.

    • @caseyhonigbaum
      @caseyhonigbaum 5 месяцев назад

      @@aaronsams8605 It's not a viable comparison because A LOT can happen in 1000+ pass attempts, that's essentially two seasons' worth of attempts for most QB's (3 for Lamar). We don't compare Brady and Mahomes because of statistics, we compare them because of their numbers in the playoffs and because Mahomes already has 3 Super Bowl rings. Also, Just because you average a short amount of yards per play doesn't mean you are ass lol he completed 67% of his passes (Lets also remember how many times one of his WR's dropped passes during that game, as well). The Bills held the ball because they had a gameplan to do so, again, it's not rocket science, keep the other offense off the field. I would love to know what game Allen's defense DIDNT let him down that they lost, because last I checked the Bills' defense in playoff losses allow an average of 31.2 points. per game. ONCE AGAIN, you can throw INT% around all you want but at the end of the day the Bills have won 4 straight division titles, a playoff game 4 straight years, and in those games, the ones that truly matter, Allens INT% (the stat you keep bringing up) is the LOWEST of all time, that stat is as real as it gets.

    NFL Records and Franchise** 1- iN FIRST 50 games, Justin Herbert has set an NFL record with 14 game-winning drives and 11 fourth-quarter comebacks. Meaning he had a game- winning drive 48% of his wins. For context, In the same time frame, Patrick mahomes who has been dubbed the "comeback kid" by some has 6 game-winning drives and 6 fourth-quarter comebacks he has a game winning drive 14% of the of his wins in his first 50 starts. So Herbert in his first 50 starts has 48% chance of game winning drive to mahomes 50 first starts at 14% a whopping 34% difference higher PM ** Personally, I have watched his defense lose about 10 others after JH10 drove down and scored, while Mahomes' defense 7TH helped him win his first Super Bowl. Herbert's defense, on the other hand, has consistently ranked 28th, 32nd, 30th, and 27th throughout his career. No quarterback has ever won with a defense ranked that poorly, with the closest being the NY Giants, whose 24th-ranked defense helped them win a Super Bowl. 2-most 300-yard games in three years, and having 300 during 22 out of 49 games. 3-fastest to 1500 completions 4-ranks second in most touchdowns in his first three years. He's also behind Marino and Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes as the third-youngest player to throw for 5,000-plus yards in a season. **18- Chargers franchise record for rushing yards in season by qb and for passing yards in season 5014yds 19-Since rookie season, Herbert has 77 scores, the most in a player's first two yrs. **21-Herbert broke the franchise's single-season pass touchdowns record in Week 17 yr2 21- Herbert set the Chargers' single-season completions (443) records previously held by Hall of Famer Dan Fouts and Rivers, respectively. Herbert ALSO became the only Chargers quarterback to ever throw for 5,000-plus yards in a single season, albeit with one extra game. **22- The final game of the 2021 regular season also marked the ninth 300-yard passing game from Herbert - another team record. He had three games this season with over 380 yards passing Herbert in second season records shattered i may have mentioned one but second yr records as - Most pass yards in first 2 seasons 23- Justin Herbert's first three years include setting the NFL record for total yards with 14,089, beating previous mark by Andrew Luck 12,956 by over 1000 ys. 24-first player in NFL history to throw at least 30 touchdown passes in each of his first two seasons. Yeah, I actually work in pro sports R&D-different sports but seasoned evaluator with the math and with the gut feel. And Herbert is head and shoulders above any QB in the league aside from Pat Mahomes and Josh Allen. Jackson isn’t even close, like Purdy, Tua, Goff, Hurts, he’s a good quarterback with a great system, who fits his coach’s system and game plan well. He just looks and plays differently, and his system operates differently. Herbert, Allen, Mahomes, and soon-probably Stroud-have the arms, ball control, and IQ to tear apart virtually any defense they encounter with minimal support. Their legs are as valuable to their passing games as it is to their running game. They present far more problems for the opposing defense to cover than anyone else. If were to do it analytically, you’d control for the amount of support their teams give them, and isolate the factors they actually control when evaluating and projecting their performance. Herbert is able to drive down the field, even with minimal support in blocking, running or even receiving. His arm, IQ, processing speed, accuracy and body control help him make a wider variety of throws than anyone besides Allen and Mahomes. His athleticism, size and speed make him elusive and keeps the defense honest. If you have him even a decent pocket, his tools eliminates a chunk of defensive players from being effective against him. This generation, it’s Mahomes, Allen, Herbert and probably Stroud who are the real talents who can and will win anywhere.

    Excellent Video. The reason why Allen gets shit on by people is because he made them all look stupid when during peak group resonance season (draft season), they all parroted that he would be a bust because muh completion % derrrrr lol People have simply never forgiven him for destroying so many of their bad narratives in one swoop....
