  • "The Chinese Communist Party is a threat, it's really defined itself as that."
    Announcing China's involvement in a cyberattack on the Electoral Commission will 'annoy' Xi Jinping but doesn't go far enough, Chris Patten last Governor of Hong Kong tells John Pienaar.

    Sanctions? No one gives a damn. Reduce their diplomatic presence in the country, limit their exports to this country, impose tariffs or just ban imports from them. The UK (like the rest of the free world) imports far more than they export to that nasty regime, and whatever we do import we need to find alternative sources for anyway. If the British public feels hard done by by losing access to Temu, Shein or other disgusting suppliers, then educate the public as to how they get their cheap tat out at such a low price: it is not pretty.

    • @Withnail1969

      We couldn’t even make face masks or gowns. Started by Thatcher when she shipped our jobs overseas to enrich her rich donors. She was one of the most anti British leaders ever. My teachers told me she was destroying the country by making us too weak to ever defend ourselves, no steel, no manufacturing and the enrichment of the CCP. This was forged by Thatcher so workers couldn’t get their fair share of productivity gains. Those neocons are the most selfish, greedy and corrupt people to rule in the West. Need to bring back the social contract and drain our politics of those who act against us.

    have supported FREE TIBET sonce 1977 when I visited Dharamshala where their Government is in exile.
    Tibetans have undergone the same "ethnic cleanisng" that the Urainians get from the Russians but becuase the Tibetans are devout Buddhists and non-violent, the Chinese Han have over run the country unopposed. The Chinese Communist Party invaded Tibet in 1950 and ever since then the Tibetans have had this happen to them. Tibetans are lovely people FREE TIBET

    • @jliang70
      @jliang70 Месяц назад

      I have a question to ask you regarding this 'ethnic cleansing', under Dalai Lama first year rule in 1934 Tibet had a population of 1.05 million and in 1959 the population reached 1.23 million, International commission of Jurists said there were more than 1.2 million or 1 in 6 Tibetan got killed, where is the other extra 5 million Tibetans (in dream or in virtual space) coming from in Tibet. And talking about genocide here is a number I can't figure out if 1.2 million Tibetan were killed in 1960 that would in theory left 300000 Tibetan in Tibet, if there is a genocide how did the population increased by more than 23 times in 70 years when in the previous 60 year to 1900 when the population was 400000. In other word no ethnic cleasing only increase the population by 2.5 times in 60 years and in 70 years of ethnic cleansing the population increased 23 times. I also can remind you that most of the Hans do not want to live in high altitude Tibet.

    The UK may be anti-Russian, or anti-Putin, but they are most certainly not anti Russian money. Same thing for China. Some Blue or Red donor is making a killing with the Chinese, therefore not much will actually happen.
