I'm planning to build a small potting shed out in my small backyard this year. Can't wait to have a real place to do seedlings. After I sold my house at the beach I never thought I'd be in a real house with a real garden again. But life has it's wonderful surprises and here I am in a lovely home, a garden that needs work, and room for a potting shed! Life is good and you help to make it better. Thanks for all you do.

One of the issues of living here in Paradise, Maui, Hawaii Zone 12 is that we are so much behind the rest of the US in time. It was a benefit today as I am watching this at 630 in the morning in bed. No problem for me. As I was watching you plant the old bulbs I can't help but notice how much of a game changer that Auger and Drill combination is. I get that thought everytime I see you use them. I have a small garden area so I don't need anything like this but I'm one of those Tool Guys who love tools so I'm just envious of your equipment usage. In that same vein I admire your Felcos whenever I see them. I have other brands that work ok, but I've used a friend's Felcos when I was pruning in her garden. They are so good, better than my Fiskars, Coronas etc. I just broke one of my Fiskars so I might have the justfication to upgrade.Sorry about the tool envy digression. I loved Bejamin doing his King of the Hill playing, he's such a joy. Interesting to see the Thinning procedure.Enjoyed this.🌾🌿🪴✂️👏🤩

This video could not have been more timely for me. I had planted daffodils in pots and stored them in my unheated garage for the winter (Minnesota zone 4b). They started sprouting and then started to bloom so I moved the pots indoors. The blooms are now spent, I cut the stems just below the blooms, and it will be a while before I can get them in the ground. Back outside they will go until I can dig holes (with my Power Planter auger). Thanks for showing me how to do it!

What are the watering and fertilizer needs for in-ground bulbs throughout the year? I noticed that you planted some bulbs under the drip tubing while other bulbs probably don't have tubing run in their area. I would assume that they would die without enough moisture or rot with too much.

I need to plant my forced bulbs too as soon as it warms up a bit, I don’t like to work outside when it is really cold.

Great progress today! The hyacinths will look beautiful and be one of the first to put spring in the air next year.

Good afternoon! So good to see this video. Didn’t think we’d have one today. Need my Garden Answer fix. Looking forward to begin planting my space sooner rather than later I hope.

I am in the deep south & I plant my hyacinths out. They have returned & bloomed for the last 4 years.

Look at Laura Willy Nilly tossing the bulbs on the ground and scattering the fertilizer haphazardly vs me painstakingly planting! How fun to watch your garden grow Laura! It looks fabulous!

While your hard work was inspiring, in my world you just planted a feast for the varmints!!! I envy those whose bulbs really bloom, but especially those whose bulbs return and multiply…..anyone else have “zone envy”???

Yes! But I really wish I had cutworm-free petunias. My bulbs get by but my petunias don’t!🌸
