OMG the way they say Dan Tat （蛋挞）is really cute! No doubt Sai Mai Lo is my favourite too, maybe I'm a little biased towards it cuz it's popular throughout SEA, but trust me it tastes like heaven. In Malaysia we call the Dan Tat shown in video Portuguese Egg Tart, it's different from ordinary Egg Tart, Po Egg Tart has a crust more like puff pastry.
+Alex Coreable The one u mention is a different version of HK dessert, the top of the egg filling are mostly caramelized, HK 蛋撻 do have both crust and puff pastry

+Alex Coreable actually I'm from Malaysia too, and Portuguese Egg tart is usually depicted with the puff pastry opposed to the crumbly one in both countries
+nickaaary yes i am perfectly aware of that like i said in my comment, and the egg tart shown in video were egg tarts with puff pastry, that's why i felt the need to mention we call it portuguese egg tart in msia (idk if people call it this way too in any other regions outside msia). and i noticed very often hk style restaurants serve egg tarts with puff pastry, although some serve crumbly crust too.

I hate how they pronounce the t in it, literally hate it, idk if that's how they say it in canto, but you don't pronounce the t in mandarin

I went to eat the Portugese egg tart in Macau (near Hong Kong) and it was so goood. Its so crispy and soft and tastes really sweet. Definitely gonna eat it again!

You can literally get all these food anywhere now. I grew up in Vietnam, and both sides of my families are Cantonese. The Chinese language Hong Kong people speaks. I grew up in Vietnam and ate all of these before. You can get dan tat here. Btw, they are called egg tart.
