I went to a store in the mall called "Lolli and pops" and they had a whole table of vintage candies, weird gross candies, European, Asian, and Mexican candies, and so much more! It's my new favorite store!! 😂 😂
DIYCookingHealthFitness Sarah Katz Ah yes I've been there too! They take a new and unique twist to the whole " candy shop " vibe with a large variety of amazing treats. Even some of the candy are from popular book series ( such as the famous goodies from the Harry Potter franchise ) and even games! Honestly I think Lolli and Pops will always hold a special place in my heart.

Paris.Stardust I'm just a graphic designer that likes to watch and comment on BuzzFeed videos. But people also noticed that I tend to be quite early with my comments too, so many have taken it upon themselves to make me a benchmark and make a game of it, to be earlier than me to comment. Some ask where I am if they don't see me as many are just used to seeing me all time. So at the end of all that, I'm just a regular commenter like everyone else that was lucky enough to be noticed by the lovely BuzzFeed commenting community... Here's a cool story, my dad used to work for Tootsie roll inc. (they make charleston chews), and every Halloween they'd let you Trick or Treat in the factory! It was great!

I see nearly all of these at most stores I go to. I get Charleston Chews every time I go to the dollar store.
This is why I love the 1950s
they sell almost all of these where I live
but it's hard to find sky bars and there are no slo pokes
and no big hunks

There's a difference between discontinued older candy and candy that began a long time ago but is still around. Charleston chews are still around. I live on the east coast of the US and I see at least three of these candies on a regular basis. I'm 16

Yeah, but you can still get those nasty things anywhere. The point of "Vintage" candies isn't strictly their age, but how rare they are to find any more. Though, Boston Baked Beans are pretty easy, there are 1 or 2 that need to be special ordered where I live.

Not only that, but today's Hershey bar is no where close to what the original one. There is almost no real chocolate in today's Hershey's chocolate.
The boxes of mini charleston chews are one of my favorite movie theater candies!

My friend's grandfather made the recipe for the Charleston Chew.
All of these are quite popular where I'm from. Many hardware/outdoors stores (such as Fleet Farm) sell these and many other "vintage" candies.
I'm glad to see the Sky Bar is featured here, this is one o' my favorite sweets. :d

You guys should do a part-2 of this video and use some of the following vintage snacks. •Circus Peanuts •Zagnut Bar•Clark Bar•Bottle tops •Necco Wafers•Salt Water Taffy•Chunky Bars•Good-N- Plenty•Spice Drops *Applying spicy version of traditional Gum Drops the seem to return to stores leading up to Thanksgiving and miraculously dissappear after New Years day.•Goobers •Raisinettes•Candy necklaces and/or bracelets •Flying Saucers•Candy Cigarettes *If you can find someone who still makes them, they light hearted PC reactions should be pretty entertaining. •Turkish Delights•Swedish Fish•Goetz's Caramel Creams•Cola Bottles *I'm not sure if that's what they're actually called, but basically they were little bottles that were made of wax and you had to break or bite the top off and there was cola flavored syrup inside. We used to chew on the wax like chewing gum afterwards.
Some of these are still available in smaller stores or specialty candy stores. I believe the rest are available from online vintage candy retailers. Well, that's about all I can think of at the moment. Best of luck! If I think of any more, I'll come back and list them.
Sorry folks. I accidentally hit the box that said "Actually' as I was typing on my phone and didn't discover the error till after I posted the comment. The pool I went to when I was younger used to keep charleston chews in the freezer for a "cold snack". It made them rock hard, broke my braces a few times on them. When frozen you could snap off pieces like a hard candy, instead of being stretchy/chewy.

The Charleston minis, kept in the fridge so they aren't all soft--are the best! Sky bar is always fun when you're traveling with a family of four and can each share a square ^_^ And we have the baked beans all the time as they were my Grampa's favorite and my friend LOVES them!
