This is such a beautiful creature that you gave birth to here! These fabolous use cases and tutorials are basically what got me kept going in my own autodidact TD learning. My only comment would be, that sometimes I crave for the explanation of the "whys" in some of your steps. It would make the tut longer, but could also release 2 videos, one with more details explanations of the purpose of the components or the different settings; and a shorter one. I would really appreciate them! Well, I appreciate you a lot already, but well.. Keep up the work
Hey Bileam, I really love your work and followed a lot of your Tutorials yet :) But as a total beginner it often is hard to follow WHY you are doing each step. So I feel you could greatly improve the content by just giving short explanations on WHAT and WHY you are doing at the moment instead of just saying "and then I place this operator here". Often times it is hard to comprehend the logic behind it just by seeing the visual changes. So brief explanations on how the operators work would be awesome! Thanks a lot for the content and keep up the great work! Beste Grüße
stuck around the 7 minute mark when i have it connected right it seems my circle is black and doesn't appear. will try another crack at it maybe i have something wrong in the setup.
turn your compute normals off on your tube -- solved it for me -- think it has to do with backface culling to check if this is your issue try rotating your tube (really a circle at this point) all the way around to see the other face.
Hey, I have a question at 6:38, camz is not changing its value (stuck to 0.36). If I turn off the pulse of lof2, it starts changing the value but then the circle is pulsating rapidly instead of being static. Un other words, I've dragged the camz1 to translate z of cam1 and circle is still pulsating rapidly
Hey, thanks for this tutorial, I'm having some trouble setting the destination color on "One minus src color". I don't have that option, seems like they removed it. Any suggestion?
@@elekktronaut Thanks for your answer, I updated to the latest version but I couldn't fix that. I guess It's a Mac issue. Can I get the same result anyhow?
Great tuts. I have a question that I can't find the answer to anywhere. In TD I'm trying to displace an image by using a depth map that i created for the image in Midas. The tricky part is trying to send this back to Unity but not just as a video stream (which I am able to do using Klack Spout). I want to send the data back to Unity that I can use as a texture on a piece of geometry in Unity. Essentially the idea is to create a Sphere environment in Unity with flipped normals that has a texture which comes from TD in the form of I guess what would essentially be equivalent to a Shader? I would be running the Oculus Integration inside of Unity wearing a VR HMD (Rift or Quest with link cable). I know there is some older connectivity in TD for the Oculus Rift but not sure this will work for me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Bileam.I tryed with a circle to obtain a similar effect but right in a circle in the middle of the screen. But with the circle I loose the height effects, there is a way to obtain that but with the height effect coming at you kinda effects?Sorry for the mess description and my bad englesh :)
hey, thanks for nice tutorials every time, with all my heart. I have one question. 6:31, I set the value of lfo 1's phase as 0 and 2's as 0.25. But when i slightly change their numbers (like for 2's phase from 0.25 to 0.3) a flat tube starts spinning and bouncing, not gently rotating. Is there kind of principles in there? Thanks in advance.
The 0.25 for Phase is a crucial number for logic behind this to work properly. These two LFOs basically draw a circle in 2D, where every sample of X and Z is a position of a point on that circle. If you are changing the phase - the circle becomes an ellipse and drags the camera from the geometry and back. Possibly you don't need this anymore, but maybe somebody will stumble upon the same problems and find the answer here.
Hey thank you very much for the video. Can you help me with something? anyoneplsss. This also happened to me in the music responsive particles tutorial, when tweeting the Ramp for the LumaBlur I do not get what you do, that is, blur, I get the things that are not being focused to total black and I have trying to see what would that be and I haven't. Some one else has this same issue with the blur effect?
My camera movement is weird, it looks like a lost spacecraft ( I have reset the pulse, frequencies are the same), I found it my increasing FOV to 150, but it's orbiting, the values are the same and I have tried it a couple of times, entered many numbers to just get it in the angle in this, but it still doesn't move. DO you know what might be wrong?
Hey bro! I've got a problem with the LFO, i don´t know why but the tube doesn´t rotate the same way than yours, like a rotation on the pivot. I put the same values in the LFO nodes, maybe is the camera placement? Also i was sure to put the camx and camz values on the x and z parameters of the translate. Any clue of what is happenig? thx""
In case this is happening to anybody else, I've just solved it by playing with the Pulse button and Reset switch of both LFO's, and then writing the Amplitude parameter of the second LFO (0.25 is the value) again a couple of times. It suddenly solved this way.

Amazing tutorials!! 😊
it seems as if your displacing is so much more precise, more detailed - is that because i'm using the free version? My image was good quality.
Probably that's the reason, yes. With the free version you're limited to 1280x1280 in and output resolution.
so beautiful ,you are best best teacher

Might be a Mac problem or you need to update TD

You need to select both LFO's and click pulse next reset on the LFO page. This syncs both LFO's to the same start position.
The 0.25 for Phase is a crucial number for logic behind this to work properly. These two LFOs basically draw a circle in 2D, where every sample of X and Z is a position of a point on that circle. Same here. It sucks.

My tube object look very dull by default, is it my setting? non reflective too
There is a way to make this reactive to music ?

You probably just need to click "pulse" once.. also check if both freuqencies are identical.
