In this tutorial, we abstract particles by using feedback, compositing, blur and displace. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! IG: @elekktronaut
For those who got lost during adding the Geometry comp, just RIGHT CLICK the output of the previous operator to add the Geometry. Dont just add it from the top menu.
Thanks! I've been building my stack of components steadily over the past year. It's great to watch these tutorials to find little tricks that will make whole scene completely different. TD is a great tool for visualising anything like the way DAW is for creating sounds, but more.
to correctly add geometry without the torus is to right click on the output blue bar on the particle and select com geometry. Thanks for this tutorial!!
Great tutorial! Hoping you post more similar stuff? Maybe you could show how you could create something similar to what Refik Anadol does with his vector field flow.
For those of you struggling with the Geometry function, make sure you *right click the right particle dialogue link.* Took me longer than it probably should have to figure this out
Great tutorial but im struggling with the geometry. It is bringing it in with a torus? If i go in and change it to have an in and out, inside it displays but coming out a level it does not?
So wonderful these colored curling particels ! I wonder how it would be possible to turn it from 2D into a 3D sphere with metallic looking particels moving around
Beautiful work, i'm following this step by step but the outcome looks quite a bit different. First thing I noticed was that the camera node is much more zoomed in on mine, however on yours it appears to be similar to the geo1 node. How can I make them similar?
Thanks for your great tutorials. One odd problem: when I try to connect the particle sop to a geo comp, the geo op has no input to connect to. Has something changed in TD?
hello :) beautiful the finished product. I wanted to ask you if you knew how to give me info on what are the steps to export the finished product. Thank you !!!
You may have discovered already, but you can turn the ramp 1 from white to black, rather than black to white. You may then want to make other adjustments as it can look a little washed out - but a great pastel effect!
hello, can you help me? when I change the number in the wind function from 0 to 0.01, the following message appears: leading zeros in decimal interger literals are not permitted, use an 00 octal integers. how can I solve? thanks. I'm using google translate, it might be confusing for you.
3:37 I get a warning from my render "A MAT is using texture coordinates, but the SOP being used with it does not have UV attributes. UV (uv) attributes can be created with the Texture SOP. And my object is black instead of what. I don't know what to do
Thanks for this video! I had the same problem. i did drag comp to feedback, and the particle disapeared as I connect the leve to the top.@@elekktronaut
Yes sure, but I can't explain how to do so in a comment like this. I might make a tutorial on the kinect if there's interest, but there's also already pretty good tutorials out there which you can implement.

If im ever in Germany I'm buying you a beer. Absolute legend
Another great tutorial with beautiful results. I'll be incorporating these techniques into my projects for sure. Thanks for sharing!
Love this tutorial. The more I watch these tutorials the more tools i have to connect with each other.

At 6:00 if you want to have more control over the phase, create a: CHOP Consant -> CHOP Speed -> CHOP null and drag the CHOP null in the phase.
That's a great tip actually, thank you!
Great tutorial! Hoping you post more similar stuff? Maybe you could show how you could create something similar to what Refik Anadol does with his vector field flow.
This. is. chefs kiss
You are amazing thank you for the knowledge
Awesome thing, keep it up!
Alter wie fett, ich raste aus!
Danke :D
Great tutor, easy to follow even at 2x speed :D
AMAZING !!! Thanks a lot !!!
I watched your first video and immediately smashed the damn sub button. Thanks a lot and keep it up.
but can you also include the expressions next time? it'll be easier for me to follow thank you
Doing that in the newer videos :)
nice one, thanks for sharing sir!
Gracias!!! muy interesante y dinámico!
Very nice video, n you are soooo sweet!! Best teacher ever!!!
thank you so much for this tutorial :)

Good tutorial, thanks
Amazing thankyou
Thank you!
Cool as hell
Thank you master

did you find out how to do that?
i'm having the same issue aswell. might have to with my free license? but idk
Wow, cool guid thx!!
How can i connec it with audio? I mean something like hybrid, audio reactive visual pipline with this tutorial. Thx
dope
How to replace the sphere with a 3D imported object? I tried it but no idea how to replace the circle with the outline of the imported 3D..
Is there a way in td to map certain parameters to a macro, for controlling them ?
Thanks for your great tutorials. One odd problem: when I try to connect the particle sop to a geo comp, the geo op has no input to connect to. Has something changed in TD?
Figured it out....dropped the geo OP in first and then reverse engineered the others in the front of the chain.
So cool! Is there a way to export this to use in AR?
what command was used for the colors to change in time?
hello :) beautiful the finished product. I wanted to ask you if you knew how to give me info on what are the steps to export the finished product. Thank you !!!
Mate you're amazing! I wanna buy you a beer.
If you're ever in Berlin, hit me up ;)
@@elekktronaut I wish. Are you somewhere on Patreon?
@@kvelve Not yet, no. I'm thinking whether it's a good idea, quite a few people have asked now. Do you think it would make sense?
@@elekktronaut Absolutely yes, well, I did for myself at least, and I'm pretty far away from producing useful or otherwise popular content.
@@kvelve Created one yesterday, have a look on patreon.com/elekktronaut :)
At 5:48 I'm confused on how you put in the Python expression app time.
Also, how do you export into a video file?
Just insert absTime.seconds*.1
I've got a video on exporting, check that out!
@@elekktronaut Also how did you change the resolution? I couldn't find the container tab.
@@elekktronaut Thanks!
Ah, so it's * rather than = for the expression. Thanks for clarifying!
👍
I really love this:))
How do I change it's background to white?
You may have discovered already, but you can turn the ramp 1 from white to black, rather than black to white. You may then want to make other adjustments as it can look a little washed out - but a great pastel effect!
How about a tutorial on converting the finished video into particles. It is possible?
Hi, I used this tutorial recently, how would you make this audio reactive?
How can I get a white background? I couldn't do it. Please help!
hello, can you help me? when I change the number in the wind function from 0 to 0.01, the following message appears: leading zeros in decimal interger literals are not permitted, use an 00 octal integers. how can I solve? thanks. I'm using google translate, it might be confusing for you.
Beautiful! Can this be audio reactive?
Anything can be audioreactive in touch. I'm gonna make a tutorial on that soon :)
What's the phython code you used absTimes.seconds (whats the rest)
i think its an "*" then "0.?" (cero point something)
How could you add sound and audio to that ??
what license of TouchDesigner do you use? awesome tutorial!
thanks! I'm using the commercial version
In my TD version i can't link particles to geometry! How could I do it? Thank you.
I faced the same problem how you fixed it?
How do you slow the speed of the particles down? also, you are a hero
You could turn up the drag on the particles - that works quiet nicely.
What to do when absTime.seconds command doesn't work?
3:37 I get a warning from my render "A MAT is using texture coordinates, but the SOP being used with it does not have UV attributes. UV (uv) attributes can be created with the Texture SOP. And my object is black instead of what. I don't know what to do
I seemed to fix the issue by putting a texture SOP infront of the particle SOP but my rendering is still black
5:45 bookmark
Thank you so much! At 4:45, my particles disappear, so I don't get the lines. Do you know why this might be?
Did you drag the comp onto the feedback?
@@elekktronaut i have the same problem! i did drag comp to feedback, how do i fix this? also, thanks for this video!
Thanks for this video! I had the same problem. i did drag comp to feedback, and the particle disapeared as I connect the leve to the top.@@elekktronaut

Hi , may i ask , from this particle visual , can we use kinect to interact with that particle ?

@@elekktronaut please make tutorial using kinect with this visual. And do u have ig ?
Or could we add a Video Device In, to be able to interact with the webcam? Would it be much of a problem to integrate this Top into the tree of Ops?
Anyone got any tips on how to render out the video without it looking so compressed for youtube and other social media?
Check out my videos: "Exporting" and "Instagram Workflow"
What are your laptop specs @bilean tschepe
How to export it? Any links or tutorials would be helpful. Thanks
from file menu in tdthere is a n export function
I recommend using the Movie File Export TOP. Just google it, it's pretty straight forward :)
