By itself, Logan is a fantastic movie. It's a kind of depressing franchise end for me though, after the end to Future Past undid all the dumb stuff like Cyclops dying offscreen.
The original cast got a happy ending, only to have it taken away again after things got arguably worse for them, than it was before they got their happy ending.
@@SensiofRabbitude Wolverine's story is also a depressing one, and it fits perfectly into his arch. Apocalypse was shite and I don't even dare to watch Dark Phoenix.

Sad thing about this, is that i actually really liked michael fassbender and james mcavoy as Magneto and Xavier.
The only thing worth watching are those 2. The rest.....well they casted Kristen Stewart 2.0 red edition in a leading role sooo ...... 💩💩💩💩💩
Well, of course: they were the best thing about the X-Men reboot. And then for some reason, the movies after First Class just kept focusing more and more on things other than the dynamic between Magneto and Xavier and what would eventually become their complicated friendship that basically drove the comic.
For me, the most annoying part of this gradual trainwreck was Apocalypse, simply because they kept putting Magneto through the same exact storyline over and over again--he's atoning... and oh, he's not atoning again. If they hadn't screwed themselves by introducing Gambit in the joke that was Origin and putting Apocalypse in the pre-Wolverine/Rogue timeline, they could have made a story that made some kind of sense. They basically crammed Magneto into Gambit's storyline and were like, "SHUT UP IT TOTALLY MAKES SENSE JUST WATCH IT!"
That's not sad. McAvoy and Fassbender were awesome.

I mean they technically already changed Magneto’s race with this franchise. He was never Jewish in the comics prior to this but they made him one in this film series.

They literally flew from jeans house & just threw her in the ground in a matter of minutes. Not to mention Magneto saw mystiques blood on Jeans shirt when Jean was nowhere near mystique when she died! This movie was a mess.

i thought the Wolverine origins story was the worst one. Which is really pathetic considering his comic origin story is arguably the most interesting.
I actually liked X-Men The Last Stand and Dark Phoenix. The action was actually good in those movies. Brian Singer was a terrible action director I felt. Only Days of Future Past was had descent action imo. I would say X-Men Apocalypse was the worst, not counting the first two wolverine movies.

He's worked on most of them. And the cast wanted him for Dark Phoenix because Bryan Singer was AWOL for most of Apocalypse and he stepped in to help get it finished.
I ponder this too when this movie was under production. But now this is behind us, we can look forward to the MCU steering this franchise to the correct course.

At least I enjoyed that movie. Dark Phoenix is just a bad version of The Last Stand. And I liked The Last Stand and Apocalypse. So it must be something when I find Dark Phoenix to be terrible when I liked the unpopular X-Men and Fantastic Four movies.

Sean Wheeler While you and I have different varying opinions on the movies, I think we can agree on this: Apocalypse, Fantastic Four, and Rise of the Silver Surfer? At least they had colour, humour, actual superhero antics and some charismatic acting from their leads. This and Fant4stic? Either Bored when not paying attention or angry when I am, because EVERYTHING IS JUST WROOOOOOOONG.
Can I just say? Nightcrawler was the best part of this whole fiasco. His final fight scene showed all his potential and brought him back to the level of badassery that he had in X2 with his opening scene.
The blood belonged to D&D. To try and make a heel/face turn she avenged season eight.

Haven’t seen it. Honestly the quicksilver scenes were the only reason i saw these films.
The only upside of this movie is that it didn't end with a mentally ill woman being killed by a man that held one-sided feelings for her. Instead, it ends with said woman overcoming and owning her trauma, becoming stronger for it

Otherwise it pretty much undoes all of DOFP immediately after, and is a pretty shitty ending for all the other characters, all dying off screen after just getting brought back through time travel.
Matt Gales Logan wasn’t part of this franchise timeline. This franchise timeline includes First Class, DOFP, Apocalypse, and Dark Phoenix.
@@JBrotsis1 marvel comics confirmed that the old man Logan timeline is the next change for the marvel comics. So prepare for more depressing and mature stories to be put on the big screen but probably with a pg-13 because of Disney's family friendly image.

But if were talking about the four films from first class till now. Then this movie ended at DOFP for me, FUCK the last two.
My movie would just be 2 hours of how goddamn awesome Magneto is and trying to mention Billy and Tommy.

Problem with it, is that they were really misinformed about the basic premise. It is meant to be an origin story about how Jean becomes Phoenix. Not an adaptation of the entire saga.
4:36 there's a deleted scene where the Phoenix makes her kill an old man for no reason, and gets blood on her clothes there. It's the old man she uses to disguise herself at the bar. Also in early trailers, this scene had her with deleted dialogue saying "Why did you make me do that!" and that refers to the random old man she killed.
The moviegoer and Xmen franchise relation can be seen as a toxic relationship. There was a lot of awful experiences, but once in a while Xmen did something great for us that made us forget, and continue playing along. But this was the moment that convinced us that things would never be like they were once, and finally gave us the courage to break up with Xmen.
The MCU is way hotter anyways.
But won’t the viewer enter a toxic relationship with the MCU after Endgame thanks to Disney+ and Stinky Cheese Larson?
