Holy Moly, holy Mackeral Michael, you don't look very becoming first thing in the morning's, after you've just risen, but then again nobody does, "like death warmed up" as the Brits say, ha, ha. Thanks again you guys ...
Grp's yay! I'm so sick of rain. This time last year I was out and about on the boat doing the helmsman 's course but now I'm stuck. Desperate to get out on a boat just some where. Thanks guys take care.
It could do, but they’re quite expensive to get retrofitted, and for some reason they’re very rare on semi-trad sterns like ours, so it’s possibly an even more bespoke job. We don’t cruise enough in the rain to justify that kind of expense, but if we were getting a new boat it’d be something we’d consider looking for. M
@@MinimalList Yeah, it's a salt building on the surface, but don't be fooled, its true purpose is to camouflage the entrance to an underground stargate installation which receives power from electric supply lines camouflaged as feeders for the railway & stargates generate quite a bit of heat when operating so it uses heat sinks strung along underground just below the canal bottom. And remember, if that sounds too implausible, there is much truth disguised as fiction: remember the following, "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t.-Pudd’nhead Wilson’s New Calendar." You did the right thing with the swans. I doubt they would be able to escape a lock (empty, particularly, but possibly also full). They take off by running along the surface of the water, and can't just spring into the air like small birds. I doubt they can takeoff with just 70 feet of water, or they would likely struggle with it. In a deep and empty narrow lock, I don't think there would be any chance for them to escape.
Yo dudes. Could you please give us a map based update of the overall journey to date and perhaps what's to come? I watch all the time but it's hard to picture the entire route so far. Many thanks. Keep up the good work!
I am too late to the party to say the building is a salt store. High enough to keep a winters worth of salt plus room for the aching to load the spreaders. But I will be pedantic and say Bilsborrow is pronounced Bilsburra. Loving the vlogs on our canal whilst drinking out of my new mug. 👍🏻
George: “don’t you know anything? You wash me and make me shiny and smell funny, not good for sneaking up on birds, gotta get muddy and smell like nature and if I could, I’d shuck this harness also, it makes noise.” “Maybe they want to use the elevator”🤣😂🤣😂
I was wondering why for the last several weeks I didn't see any vids from you, Turns out I am no longer subscribed to your channel, I didn't unsubscribe. Did you guys have technical issues with your channel?
Well how about this for a coincidence. I’ve just turned Channel4 on (UK Television) and the episode with Timothy West and Prunella Scales travelling up the Lanky canal.
What a lovely part of the World the Lancaster Canal is 😎
Now it's winter all moorings are 14 days. Looks gorgeous up there!
Yep! This video was filmed back in September... see the first clip. I’m afraid we are a little behind with the edits!
Lovely video from you. Thanks for cheering.
Thanks for watching! M
Thanks for taking such care with the swans 👍🏻😊
That was all Michael, it’s one reason I love him! He even moves snails to the side of the footpath so they don’t get stood on!
I do that, and slugs😊😊
Fun video, It's always a joy to spend time with you two.
Thanks for following along and for the lovely comment
We have domed buildings like that in our area. They are used to store salt for road use in the winter. Greetings from NE Ohio USA.
Apparently that is what it was for!
Fun to follow along with your map ...way up North !! ... beautiful beautiful beautiful !!! Thank you for the ride along : )
Thanks for coming along for the ride! M
We have lots of these dome buildings in Canada, called sand domes, used to store salt and sand for winter road maintenance.

I’m not known for my morning face, that’s well established! M

Loved it, as always. Glad you are catching up with the vids. Robin & Trudy.
So many of them small boats .. on that stretch , good vid guys
There used to be a sign on the Caen Hill locks not to let the swans through the locks as they would attack each others young.
...the people in the restaurant are so envious ...even if it's cold wet and more work .. anything worth having is a pain in the : )
Very true! Though their eggs Florentine did look nice! M
Swexit... yup, clearly those swans were remainers in being so reluctant to leave!
Sunshine and showers.......
Would investing in a pram cover not help with winter cruising? ....great vlog as always......thanks for sharing

Conical shaped building looks like Highways Agency depot used for storage of road salt.
Good to know! Thanks!
the Strange round building is a salt house for road salt
Good to know thanks! Although I must say that is rather disappointing. I was hoping it was something more exciting!

That’s a good idea! We’ll try and incorporate it into our end-of-year / Christmas thank you video! M
Thank you, all the best.
That shot at 2:44 is beautifully lit.
There are some photographic advantages to getting up for sunrise. I wish we did it more often!
I was gonna say the same thing about 10 seconds before that. The morning glow was kind of amazing…
Sod the brolly Michael needs a poncho.
That strange building you saw ,here in Wisconsin it would be used for storing road salt mixed with sand for winter driving, looks the same
Apparently it’s the same here! M
Hi I reckon the Swans were waiting for there breakfast from the Hotel. Cheers.
The service was shocking then! M

You guys have got to get some rain gear.
Don't worry, we did!
Swan downing as opposed to Swan upping on the Thames?
Indeed... we don’t count em, we just drop em! M

It must take some footwear to handle all those waterpits on the towpath!
We do go through a fair number of shoes! M

We are just here to serve the swans! Good point George!

Ooh, I haven't seen that one. Will have to check it out.
So, the swans were a decoy to delay you into getting soaked by rain.
Fiendishly clever swans
I did consider that theory.
The conical shaped building is a moose hatchery, surprised you didn't know that!... Google it.
Heh... learn something new every day... and I’m a Canuck, so you’d think I’d know it! M
👋
Swans: Hoping for Cheerios, got dog food?
It is actually proper swan and duck food. George doesn't share his food.
@@MinimalList George doesn't share. Got it.
Eh, getting rained upon ain't no big thing, human beings are drip dry. _(too bad they aren't wrinkle-free perma press, though)_
