Current Spotify user here. I have had Spotify for YEARS, and honestly ive been thibking of switching. The algorithm is awful, the songs they recommend thats "similar" to a certain artist im listening to is nowhere close to the style of music is categorized as. My playlist has became SUPER repetitive when it was never like that. I have a TON of music, and my playlist just plays the same songs again and again and its a lil ridiculous. Im just stuck on Deezer or YT Music
I used to use Spotify premium....Then I found that there are too many cover versons for songs, and for certain artists they had a limited catalogue....Have been using YT Music for a long time now, and I`m pretty happy with it....
I pay for RUclips Premium and use my family's Spotify. I find Spotify's UX to be a lot more streamlined. RUclips Music is a bit messy, and it's missing things like global play counts. I'd love to switch over but the experience just isn't as pleasant.
1:05 just to remember that the majority and, in fact, the most listened ones are also on youtube. And in video. RUclips music should only be analyzed if taking the whole youtube premium in consideration. For me, everything on YT Premium (not YT Music Premium) is better than what Spotify Premium offers but the connectivity, that is really a dealbreaker of YT Music for most people.
I used both for a long time, and RUclips Music is the best one for sure. The algorithm is amazing. The only RUclips music's downside is the player, very poor.
I use youtube all day, has the underground music I like that doesnt have on spotify and i can use 2 apps paying for 1. I like some features that spotify have, like personalizing the playlist its pretty cool and some podcasts that only use spotify. So I use spotify free for podcast and youtube premium/music for all.
@Deez_Nuts242 And sometimes full álbum playlists premade and uploaded by random People. Some say Spotify has a better sound quality, but I use Basic 30 dólar iems and didn't notice any of that. Maybe some audiphile can say the opposite but I don't care that much

@@Salomonus it's getting better. Spotify is now a hot mess, especially with how they handle podcast and the whole Snapchat type videos thing when one is just scrolling through. RUclips music appear to have learned from Spotify's podcast implementation. The podcast on RUclips Music is better implemented although it's still early stages and need a few things ironed out. There is now a sleep timer as well.
RUclips Music for me is way better because of having available videos of remixes and custom songs that are not uploaded in any music library. It makes it a big + of having even more music available than any other music streaming service
You can hear a difference between ytm or spotify, and the alternatives you suggested were worse. There is a more open and loud sound on ytm by far, its very noticable on my amp.
I have used both YT music still lacks a lot of material that Spotify has and the podcasts are better but you do here a notable difference in sound quality if your using Pixel buds pro YT music sounds far better
4:43 I disagree. RUclips music let's you play any song you want and offers unlimited skips in it's free version. While Spotify does let you use other apps while you listen in it's free version, having no on demand play ack and being limited to 6 skips is very restrictive. Plus technically you can you other apps on RUclips music by using split screen (I know it's not that convenient but hey at least it's possible).
On Android auto. RUclips music will "forget" the state of the player after a while. This means when open the app next day I have to choose the playlist again and if I want to shuffle. Why is it not possible to have the last state of the music player memorised for forever? The player shpould start playing my last song listened from the point it was aborted, and playing the same play list with same settings. Very annoying this feature is missing. I kept it because the advert free videos on RUclips, but now I will change to Spotify.
I have a question, if I'm listening music video on RUclips in 1080p and same music im listening on "RUclips music" app at highest Quality which one is best in terms of audio quality?
Another reason to go for RUclips premium is that I watch a lot of videos on there and know the content creators will still make money of of me while I am not bothered by adds. I have no problem with paying the small fee knowing the creators of all these amazing videos that I watch will get their money. Spotify might be better in music but RUclips premium is more than just RUclips music.

@@matiasarenas7475 I have to agree with that. But, I have found some new music from artists that I have not heard of before so I overlook that part. Waaay too much hip hop.

idk man, i've been using Spotify since 2013 and it used to be so much better. this video is making me want to switch to youtube music. Spotify seems like its the lazy mans streaming service, whereas RUclips Music seems like it's for the true music junkies. And you say for $2 more i can get youtube premium?! Nonetheless, great video guys!
The best thing about youtube music, and that made me choose it over spotify, is their queue system. I fucking hate how queuing songs works on spotify, where items added to a queue are removed after playing and if I already have musics on my queue and want to add a song to listen right after the one playing I have to move it manually. I mean, that's fine if you're mostly listening to static playlists and albums, but if you're like me who likes to explore more songs of a new artist you just listen, play a song you heard to two years ago and just remembered or just like to layer albums one over another like an onion its a nightmare. On YTM I can add a songs to play right next or put it at the end of the queue, and if I want to listening again I can press prev and its still there.
youtube music has everything going for it but not having an option to sort your songs in alphabetical order inside your playlist is a very big bummer. there is no search option inside a playlist as well. spotify's playlist management is much better and i switched from yt music for this sole reason. this is a very very basic feature tbh. come on youtube.
there is something wrong with my spotify... no matter what genre i choose (EDM, heavy metal, jazz, heck even classical) after about 2 hrs... it slowly transitions to playing Eminem and Eminem remixes. I like his music sometimes if i am in the mood, but i would never seek him out. Its not like ive listened to him a lot in the past or anything... the algorithm for me is just bonkers!

Came from amazon music to Spotify due to the play update that amazon introduced. Was going to go to RUclips music that how I came to this vid. But to be honest I might go back to amazon music you definitely tell the difference with the music quality and has live lyrics and music videos
Neither is a no go for me due to the way they work with Smart Home speakers. For example on Echos RUclips doesn't work at all and Spotify won't let a family plan just play music concurrently on different speakers without juggling Amazon and linked individual Spotify accounts. Apple music, Deezer, and Tidal all offer this functionality with their family plans. No dicking around with switching accounts required.
Not gonna use my smart phone screen, or buy a separate tablet to have a bigger screen to navigate my music songs and selections! when using a streaming service like RUclips for music i will just use my 43" Samsung smart TV screen since it's already part of my 2-channel audio system... but that is just me in listening to music at my home...
Nope, I don't agree with your pricing&value going to spotify. I don't know about the US, but in India I am paying 189rs ~ ($2.28) for youtube premium family pack per month and got all the feature of youtube premium with premium music. So I will "strongly" disagree with this one.
MUSIC STREAMING acts as if they own your music with an agreement on what you're paid. I feel anything to do with your music should be negotiated by you, not them dictating their terms. STREAMING SERVICES need you more than you need them. Recall how artists made MONEY before the internet? We still have the option, and sue anyone who duplicates your music. Streamers are like LEGAL bootleggers. 80% should be paid to MUSIC PRODUCERS and ARTISTS. Negotiate with online media like we do PUBLISHING. No media has a right to cut into your livelihood. So let's lay down the laws on your hard work.

Since I use RUclips everyday and Google Home/Nest Audio I save hours in ads and get a great music experience. With Spotify I would get YT ads and just about the same music experience. As much as I use RUclips, you would think RUclips music would be the batter choice for me but honestly I hate Spotify and RUclips music UI but I prefer Spotify over it
People give me too much shit for this, but I prefer listening to music on SoundCloud. Personally I don't get ads, I actually do not get ads at all because I have a pi hole hooked up to my router. Any and all advertising content gets filtered out before it reaches my eyes. SoundCloud has better audio streaming quality, more small creators, less ads about itself, and more options for customizability, it's own built-in EQ, as well as far more sharing and saving options. For instance, Spotify deletes music off of your Mobile device's cache, so when you go anywhere, and you want to listen to your favorite music; You're going to have to redownload it. SoundCloud doesn't do this, you can have a song or an entire playlist previously played on your device, and it will save that entire playlist of data as long as you do not restart your device. It also saves a lot of data and you don't even need to be connected to the internet to play that list. It's also harder to get lost in the UI for SoundCloud. I cannot navigate Spotify for the life of me.
Spotify obviously. RUclips music is worse than google play music it replaced in so many ways from playlist, organization, and ease of use to name few. It also is not good for those who bought music previous from google play music in the past and it is terrible for a separation of songs you bought to those you stream. RUclips music always eats battery away way quicker than Spotify and is terrible optimized.

Maybe some audiphile can say the opposite but I don't care that much
@@Deez_Nuts242 A Brazilian podcast that I watch now have video on spotify and i have to say, it's horrible. The audio and the video are unsynced sometimes and the video quality too. And time stamps, spotify dont have. RUclips some of the podcasts can put time stamps so you can know in which part the topic you want to know about is
The best app for music is whichever you use. Sure, some might have nicer features, others may be cheaper, but either or, the only thing that should matter, is that you're listening to your favorite music 🎶😍
Sure
Of course that goes without saying. What’s the point in saying this?
RUclips Music now has live lyrics, I.e the highlights and autos scrolling you talked about. However, it's currently being rolled out
@Salomonus yeah. If you're on RUclips Music, you'd probably get it within a week to a month. I.e if you don't already have it
@@Salomonus it's getting better.
@@Salomonus check the explore tab. You might find it there.
@@EfonEkpowhere is sleep timer in yt music
@@rishabhhhhhhhh Click on the 3 dots on the upper right corner of the Now Playing album art. Then scroll to the bottom
Can't believe you didn't mention the ability to upload your own music to ytm, that's it best feature imo
I have both atm and im going to go with yt music. Having all the videos without adds makes it more worth it.
I kept it because the advert free videos on RUclips, but now I will change to Spotify.
its 2023 yet yt music still doesn't have the sleep timer feature, i enjoyed both apps but both are missing other important features
RUclips Music has sleep timer now
@@nextflipbook4108 where, i dont see
I have a question, if I'm listening music video on RUclips in 1080p and same music im listening on "RUclips music" app at highest Quality which one is best in terms of audio quality?
1080p is just the quality of video😅😅😅 and it has nothing to do with the audio quality. It's more likely that YT music wins
RUclips music is excellent. The algorithm and music quality is just amazing. It's not available in Zambia 🇿🇲, so I use a VPN to play it.
You didnt mention yt music lets you pick songs on the free version whereas Spotify only lets you choose playlists
RUclips Music now has live synced lyrics, so that advantage no longer goes to Spotify.
Facts, also Spotify increased their prices.
What RUclips lacks in is the shuffle randomness. I tend to heat the same
Songs played every time I shuffle.
Just switched over to Tidal and have to say for me is much better than Spotify and RUclips music, also they have a family option that allows up to 5 extra users for like an extra 4.99 so hard to beat it.
RUclips Music is the same. For extra $5 you get the 6 users option
RUclips and Spotify have the same thing
Tidal, beside the sound Quality, everything else is poor, too much hip hop, Bad playlists, a few mixes, the algorithm is not the Best..
@@matiasarenas7475 I have to agree with that. But, I have found some new music from artists that I have not heard of before so I overlook that part. Waaay too much hip hop.
that is my biggest point... RUclips includes remixes and covers of songs u can not find in Spotify
am I wrong?
I notice YT Music always gets extended mixes for songs more so than Spotify. Half the time, Spotify only has the normal lengths of tracks. That's why I find it hard to move away to Spotify.
idk man, i've been using Spotify since 2013 and it used to be so much better. this video is making me want to switch to youtube music. Spotify seems like its the lazy mans streaming service, whereas RUclips Music seems like it's for the true music junkies.
And you say for $2 more i can get youtube premium?!
Nonetheless, great video guys!
The wife hates ads on RUclips. So premium it is. With that, the only choice is YT Music.
Is there a dedicated streamer for RUclips Music besides Sonos? Why aren’t RUclips Music popular?
RUclips music do not have: Rammstein, very little Bob Dylan, many songs are missing from Supertramp album "Breakfast in America"....
Dude really complaining about the toggle switch 😂😂 Spotify is sponsoring this dude
youtube music has everything going for it but not having an option to sort your songs in alphabetical order inside your playlist is a very big bummer. there is no search option inside a playlist as well. spotify's playlist management is much better and i switched from yt music for this sole reason. this is a very very basic feature tbh. come on youtube.
Is it just me or did anyone get a Spotify ad before the video started? 💀
I’ve noticed that YT Music features many songs with time-stamped lyrics scrolling. I feel like this was something I’ve seen for some months now… 🤔
there is something wrong with my spotify... no matter what genre i choose (EDM, heavy metal, jazz, heck even classical) after about 2 hrs... it slowly transitions to playing Eminem and Eminem remixes. I like his music sometimes if i am in the mood, but i would never seek him out. Its not like ive listened to him a lot in the past or anything... the algorithm for me is just bonkers!
Can't quite let go of Spotify, RUclips music is decent til I have to go to work cause the music I have on RUclips Music seemly disappears whenever I go to work
In what way? You can set up downloads if they aren't loading
@kyle sousa Google Admin rules apparently
Save them in a playlist
@Nam Tran I do have them saved in a Playlist but again thanks to Google Admin rules for some strange reason it all disappears and then reappears when I get home
RUclips all the way. I had Spotify, but I like the regular RUclips as well. It just offers way more.
Why yt music? Because i need youtube premium
Great video, just what I wanted to know 👍🏼
Came from amazon music to Spotify due to the play update that amazon introduced. Was going to go to RUclips music that how I came to this vid. But to be honest I might go back to amazon music you definitely tell the difference with the music quality and has live lyrics and music videos
Yeah for me the big seller was the fact that I'm not a college student rn and I'm a big yt user so the 2 in one was a no brainer
No dicking around with switching accounts required.
i listen to old skool music and some new music i know i love listening to music everyday
i use deezer but if spotify finally supports cd quality it will win hands down
Wait you cant skip on Spotify for more than 6 times/ hr? Thats weird i have the free version and i cam skip as much as i want 💀
Can i listen together with my friend on RUclips music
I like spotify as i Like the Dj X as it plays all my favourite songs and my daughter enjoys what she likes to listen to also My other daughter like YTM as she likes the more choice of music but one thing they don’t do is a Duo for two members of the family & also YTM don’t have a DJ X so it plays everything you enjoy from over the Years So there is a lot of Music Choice between Spotify Music & RUclips Music 🎧 🎵
You can turn it out if u have youtube premium
Since I use RUclips everyday and Google Home/Nest Audio I save hours in ads and get a great music experience. With Spotify I would get YT ads and just about the same music experience. Spotify wants to win me over they need to step up its game. Make own high end Spotify speakers with a home assistant and cheaper fees to mend for the hours of ads Im forced to watch on YT with Spotify.
As much as I use RUclips, you would think RUclips music would be the batter choice for me but honestly I hate Spotify and RUclips music UI but I prefer Spotify over it
I like YT Music but the landscape view is my biggest gripe. It plain sucks.
Weirdo

Why is bro shouting 😢
RUclips MUSIC ROCKS 🤘🏼🔥
Spotify obviously. RUclips music is worse than google play music it replaced in so many ways from playlist, organization, and ease of use to name few.
It also is not good for those who bought music previous from google play music in the past and it is terrible for a separation of songs you bought to those you stream. RUclips music always eats battery away way quicker than Spotify and is terrible optimized.
in RUclips no information about song like artist, lyricist names even very low cost music players provindg all information.and UI is worst on YT music
Here in Brazil YT music cost me BRL12,00 reais per month (aprox USD2,50).
Excellent review! Thanks I have Spotify and love the new music discovery! I had Amazon HD but the app kept crashing! Got rid of it!
I don't like how google hostaged no ads youtube. I prefer spotify. I don't need yt music. I only want no ads youtube but google doesn't let me buy no ads youtube without yt music.
So just dont use youtube music lol
@@standardcrazy8393 you don't understand what I'm saying. youtube no ads only plan should be like 2 or 3 dollars because youtube premium is 11 or 12 dollars because of this music thing.
I'm sorry but RUclips premium is the best value subscription ever
Everyone watches RUclips, and a majority of people don't listen to music via Spotify... You can listen to music & watch videos on RUclips but you can't watch a video on Spotify. it is unfortunate that this is killing Spotify, because personally I like Spotify but RUclips is the clear winner (in my opinnion).
You also gave the pricing to Spotify even though Spotify's value bundle only works in one country???!!! That's ridiculous because the fact that RUclips can provide it's value deal to every country in the world makes it the winner. This is biased work. 1 star
I'm telling you Spotify will give you a better experience, RUclipsmusic app design SUCK
It's has less song than RUclips, sure but when it's come to making a playlist of your favourite RUclips mixed song and video is a pain in the ass
The only deal breaker is RUclips Premium, good job Google
Nah, it's pretty easy, also I can barely find any of the songs I like on Spotify.
It won’t even let me skip a song and when I click on a song it play a whole different song 😂
Can remember when this was included for free on premium. No way im paying an extra £10 per month for a crappy app.
youtube music for me
RUclips ReVanced all the way.
RUclips music now does highlight lyrics and does auto scroll
Also, idk about u guys, but youtube offered me 6 months of premium free, and that's something I couldn't pass up
"Goodbye Apps!" |
It's been a fun journey, but the time has come for me to say goodbye to all the app music services. I'm making the move to the Compact Discs, and I'm excited for a whole new world of music to be open to me. This is a journey I'm so glad to be undertaking, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it leads me. Thank you to all of my listeners and my friends who made this possible. I'm excited for the future, and I hope you will join me on this new adventure.
I run both apps half of my music is on RUclips music the other half is on Spotify
RUclips music allows to upload your own music so you forgot to mentioned this.
I would like to see you redo this video now that Spotify is shoving their tick tock clone down everyone's throat. It's so damn horrible I might just jump to RUclips music
spotify tictok clone? this is the first time I ever hear about that 🤔
Spotify killed themselves on the mobile app, not only it’s buggy, it is VERY restrictive and i cannot express my frustration enough.
So sad that RUclips doesn’t have podcast. 😢
Google Podcast left the chat.
It's coming soon. Google podcasts is getting integrated into YTM
@@Swipe650 yeah; recently I heard about this news. In fact today, when I opened YT Music, there was a message that said: "Now podcasts are aviable on YT Music". So... that's cool.
For audio spotify and for video youtube
Auto scrolling is now available in YT Music 😊
Shameful YTM still can't be played on apple watch standalone, also music quality is the lowest of the 3
I won't pay money for something that I don't own in my hand. People start wotting NO to subscriptions and streaming.
What youtube has are more not too mainstream music (random remixes and such) and maybe a better algorithm for music recommendations. Imo Spotify literally does everything else absolutely better.
Also, the youtube music desktop app is absolutely horrendous and it's basically not even an app, it's a fucking browser tab...
RUclips Music UI it’s terrible and the recommendation engine is even worse.
