@@James_Byron RUclips is Google... I've got an android phone and I already pay for Google One so what's the difference? 95% of my RUclips watching is in the Android app and Roku app while I'm in bed. $14 a month for music and ad free watching isn't going to break me.
I recently switched to RUclips Music from Spotify because it's included in my RUclips premium subscription. I've been a long time Spotify user but when I switched and imported all my playlists, I immediately noticed the algorithm is better in YTM. The Sound quality is pretty much on par with Spotify which is cool. I'm not sure if I'll go back to Spotify at this point. YTM has everything I need, plus no ads on RUclips. Win - Win!
How did you do the import? How hard was it?
@@erikl9146 TuneMyMysic has you covered. It imports and syncs music libraries between streaming services automatically.
@@erikl9146 I used a website called Soundiiz. It was pretty easy to import the playlists over.
Same with me, I was using Spotify until mid 2023 and then for the ad free experience got yt primium.. Now I don't feel the need to go back to Spotify when I can enjoy music on ytm.
youtube music is void compared to spotify. 1 - YTM doesn't have search within playlist filter. 2 - It doesn't have agility to edit playlist in offline 3 - you can't add custom image to playlist 4 - YTM pc browser ver is sluggish and laggy compared to spotify pc app 5 - there is no option to turn off both of youtube music playlist and youtube video playlist appearing to both places
The most underrated YTM feature, double tap either ways to forward or rewind the song just like in RUclips, but the catch is, it only works on Android

The coolest thing about YT Music is that you can make a new alt channel just for music under the same email 🤌🏼 doesn't mix with your playlists, watch history, all that. Same email, same subscription
how do you do this?
@@foblymobly Log into your RUclips on a PC or Desktop mode on your Mobile browser. In the settings you can create another channel under the same email. Only able to do this in Desktop Mode 🤌🏼

It's tedious but I had to download another browser so the RUclips link doesn't take me to the app itself

If you’re using iOS u can hold on the link you’re opening and choose open in background
That way u will stay on the browser not the app
Back in 2018 I uploaded my CD Library (which I had ripped to my PC) to Google Play Music and transferred them to RUclips Music when GPM came to an end. This and ad-free RUclips makes YTM my preferred Music Streaming service.
an important thing in my opinion that is not totally mentioned in the video is the possibility on RUclips music to listen to long unofficial mixes and various covers. For example, my lofi pokemon themed playlist which doesn't exist on Spotify
I was wondering about that since I get annoyed with unofficial songs disappearing on Spotify. So that would be my main reason to switch to ytm
Used YT Music and haven’t looked back. Plus the addition of YT Premium, makes it so much worth it. I’ve used Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, Amazon music, you name it, and only YT has ALL the songs that I could not find in the other apps!
Love RUclips music. Its recommendations are the best . Nothing can beat it. Btw nice video josh, was waiting for this one .
Let’s not forget the social aspect of RUclips music. The ability to see other people’s comments and opinions on the songs are nice
RUclips is better because it has John C RUclips re-record every song in his classic John C RUclips voice.

The fact that you can upload a RUclips video it to your music playlist is a "w" by default!
Here's another great YTM feature, samples! Try it out, its awesome and another feature, it remembers your playlist, let's say if you were to save a song to a playlist, you select a playlist from the pop up and the next time you save another song, it saves that song to that playlist without popups
I had a couple issues with RUclips Music. First, a surprising number of my favorite podcasts aren't even on it. Yeah, I could just use a separate app for those podcasts, but that's annoying. Second, I had a lot of issues with buffering regardless of whether I was on Wifi or my mobile network. At first I thought it might be an issue with my phone. But I don't have that issue with Spotify, RUclips, or any other app besides RUclips Music. Still, it's been about a year now since I tried it. Maybe it's time to give it another shot.
I tried the RUclips music for a month and it’s pretty good imo. Spotify as a pretty awesome algorithm but I’ll stick with Apple Music for the audio quality (lossless and Spatial Audio) great video.
I prefer Spotify for 4 main features that RUclips Music doesn’t have; sort in playlist, search in playlist, 10,000 playlist song limit, and Spotify connect. 👍
Luckily, I caught a deal when they were collaborating with Hulu so I’m paying 11 bucks a month for Spotify and Hulu
Spotify connect is honestly one of the things i miss in yt music, listening to music on an echo device without pairing or starting a playlist on your watch but play it on the phone are pretty useful features
YT music is great. The only thing I’m missing is a dedicated app for Apple TV
RUclips's main problem is they still don't have an ad supported version.
Can i sort out songs inside a playlist alphabetically in RUclips Music? I tried it in my free account and can't find option. That is the only thing letting me stay in Spotify 😅
RUclips Music is great, but one issue I've found is that sometimes the music I add dissappears after a while from my library, it seems to try to determine which songs I listen to the most and then keeps those songs in the library and deletes the rest, leaving my library at a total of 520 songs, however, my tastes are varied and always end up getting bored, so I created a playlist with all the 920 songs I like, but, the amount of songs actually makes the playlist too heavy and it causes the webpage to fail, the Android app works ok.
Not sure if Spotify has this issue too, but, I will be testing Amazon Music to see if this is an issue there as well.
My only problems with YT Music is that I wish it saved the playlist to the app itself rather than syncing it with base YT. My playlist are a mess because of it. Also wish you’d be able to use your own custom art for playlist though sort of understandable why that’s not a thing yet, but I refuse to use their AI “art” bs

I want to start using YT music but it uses the same subscriptions and playlists as RUclips, where following an artist = subscribing to their channel. I spend so much time in RUclips that I don't want it to mess with my subscriptions. As soon as they add a way to separate the two, I'm game.
You can create a youtube brand account on the same google account and then you can switch on the yt music app. That will keep things different

Me too!! I'm a RUclips addict but I separate that from my Spotify preferences. I hate it when my RUclips preferences show up in YT Music. They should give some option to separate those.
simple solution to switching: keep a note with a list of your favorite artists. Since it's streaming that's all you need.

The biggest advantage of using youtube music is that it comes with ad-free youtube. With youtube heavily restricting adblockers, youtube premium combo with ytm is the way to go
I mainly use Spotify for podcasts, heck i didnt even know RUclips music had podcast built-in.
I wish Spotify wrapped also imcluded the podcasts you've listened to, that'll make the app even better than it already is.
Having switched from Spotify to YT Music a few months ago, I can confidently say that I prefer Spotify hands down. YT music is buggy, has a terrible queue system and I always run into issues when playing music offline or when playing “downloaded” music with a weak connection. While it has some great features (outlined in this video), it’s just such a more difficult experience than Spotify is. That said, the inclusion of RUclips premium is what’s keeping me. If Google ever drops the Premium and Music joint subscription, I’ll be going back to Spotify
I've been wanting to switch over to RUclips premium family since Spotify is almost about to match that price without offering as much as youtube premium.. But there's so many missing features on RUclips music...
Spotify Premium do have equivalents to quick picks in the radio function and the special curated playlists.
Just checked my settings for the video playback toggle mentioned at 1:56 but I don't see that in my settings. Is that just an Apple thing, or is this video outdated?
You need premium to do that

I have RUclips Premium family plan I share and Spotify Premium. I pretty much just use RUclips Premium for RUclips and not RUclips Music. I know I have RUclips Music and in some ways it does have some features that I want that Spotify doesn't have, but I primarily use Spotify because of Spotify Connect and Last FM scrobbling.
I switch to YT Music in 2016 and have not turned back. Paying for Premium makes it even better... Also, if you find that long mix by your favorite DJ on RUclips then you can play it on YT Music w/o issues...
Basically to make it really simple, Spotify is more refined, but YT music has more variety

RUclips Music is just such a good deal. I got a family bundle which cost me approximately only double the price of an individual Spotify subscription. Me and 5 members of my family get to use it alongside the ad-free RUclips and it makes Spotify’s pricing just look horrible by comparison.

The issues with shuffle or smart shuffle on Spotify made me switch to YT music. The algorithm is a lot better on YT music and I can discover a lot more music or artists
When you play a song in a playlist of youtube music, it will only have around 50 songs of your playlist in your queue (or up next as they call it in youtube music). When you press shuffle while listening to this queue, it will only shuffle these 50 tracks, not your entire playlist (when your playlist succeeds around 50 songs),
Streaming via chromecast vs spotify connect or spotify on a chromecast enabled devive is also a nightmare. Spotfiy has this figured out a lot better than youtube music.
last I used youtube music and god dammit I just loved him but one thing that made me move back to Spotify is Spotify Connect and youtube music is not available on ps5 if it is available on ps5 I'll easily move back to youtube because youtube music has the best algorithms and how he's evolving I think I'll be happier with them

With Microsoft Edge you can easily install the web version as an app

I use both youtube music and apple music
I've never used Spotify. I use RUclips music because I'm a convert from Google Play music. I find the app painfully cluttered. If it's really less cluttered than Spotify, then...all I have to say is wow!
Guys, the features are good and all but it's not to the fullest quality, at least not even lossless.

I only scanned the blog article but I didn't see any mention of sound quality which I hear is much better on Spotify. Also, I think Spotify has much better recommendations
RUclips Music Premium has the same audio quality as Spotify
For me it comes down to personal preference and for me it's Spotify.
You can't beat the integration with RUclips Premium.

RUclips Music would have been super awesome if only they upgraded the audio quality. RUclips Music just doesn't sound good at all when you stream music through speakers like HomePods.

I started using YT Music because I was already paying for YT Premium so it didn't make any sense to pay for Spotify. Also, the app is better, since they actually care about Android, even the tablet version

The only thing with YT music is that the sound quality is not as good.
You can get an annual subscription to Spotify for $99 using a gift card. Can't beat the price. Of course, Spotify could change this at some point

On RUclips music, try to scroll through 100.000 uploaded songs on your phone without a scroll bar. Not doable, not user friendly.

RUclips music had HORRENDOUS audio quality till a few months ago. If you have mid-high end audio equipment, the difference between YT and Spotify/Apple is VERY noticeable. Have they upgraded to 320 kbps (or better) yet?
256 kbps is the highest on RUclips music with aac and opus

Spotify DJ X is garbage. It just plays your liked songs over and over and over. It plays artists you blocked too.
Naw you’re forgetting a lot of stuff I’ve tried RUclips music and Spotify has a lot better music discovery features. RUclips music is SO annoying because once you search a song or play a song a couple times it just plays the same thing over and over next time you’ll try a playlist then it will play the same songs that you just played! Oh man how annoying it is like give me something NEW! RUclips is just good for people who are stuck with listening to the same songs over and over. I can’t get out of that loop because RUclipss algorithm just wants you to play music so desperately so it barely tries new music because it’s afraid to lose you. Plus there’s songs on RUclips music that you can’t play because it’s not an “official” song so to play it you have to find it on RUclips. It’s intertwined so you are forced to use their apps. Naw I ain’t about that. Spotify ain’t perfect but the music discovery is unmatched! I’ve found so many new songs that I would probably never find listening to RUclips music. I feel Spotify knows my taste better than RUclips, RUclips is just like tell me what to like and I’ll keep it on repeat 😂bleh!

RUclips Music is trash for offline use. Offline use is BY FAR the worst function about the app. Online music is decent though.
I hate from both their automatic playlists that we cant easyly delete.
