- Опубликовано: 5 апр 2020
- I hope you find this video helpful! I saw alot of people trying this method on fashion colors but no one did dark hair (especially this sad box-dyed hair), so I wanted to test it out myself. Comment below what you guys think of this little experiment! Would you try this method at all??
What I used:
1 Lb of Baking soda - amzn.to/40KpLqW
6.76 fl oz of 10 vol cream developer - amzn.to/3G9NrNn
~5 tbs of purple shampoo - amzn.to/3TZsafe
~5 tbs of dishwashing liquid (I just used a local brand- I don't have Dawny) -
P.S I bought all the products in Indonesia but if you're in the US/Canada, the Amazon links I posted above would work just as fine! :)
Thank you @lolakait for the inspiration! This is the video where I saw how she did it • Video

I regret it so much lol. I’ve been stripping it and I’m almost back to my dark brown.
Finally, a person smart enough to list their recipe in their description. Thank you...
I was looking for this comment.
I’m here for this chaotic energy
Andrea Martinez haha yes i love it. I need a bigger bowl 😂🤣 hilarious.
🤣🤣
@@johan5512 🤣🤣🤣
I was watching her pour in the baking soda, and when she said she was going to pour all of it in that tiny bowl I was like...👀. Lol!
@@ixchelskyfeather2513 haha YES,, I love her.! She is so fucking funny, and she slips in a picture of her burnt banana bread haha, i mean that is hilarious.
She reminds me of me also trying to color my hair it can get pretty crazy, and also in my baking skills, I can never seem to get my banana bread right.
Lets be friends Cindy your awesome.!!
Me on my way to do this 🏃🏽♀️
omg!! hope it works! let me know when it does
Cindy Marshall i did it!! And it works !! Thank you so much
It worked but now my hair is really dry lol
All of my hair broke off after doing this. If you have pre-bleached hair use with caution or better yet just don’t do it! I’m writing this as I’m staring at a trash can filled with ALL of my hair. If your hair has any damage I strongly urge to not try this and go to a pro
BudgetBeat Beauty OH MY GOD SIS 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔
This is worth it. No damage is a good thing. It takes me forever to get my hair healthy once I damage it
Actually it damage it but less that bleach so yeah
@@quandaledingle7735probably better to use vitamin c, head and shoulders and coconut oil and it took out all my black dye.
@@Toltecgrl I don't have a vitamin c + I have a black box dyed hair😅
@@Toltecgrlhow did you use it ??
can we use a strong shampoo instead of purple dye?
The technique of how she's putting it on her hair 😳😓👀

I love how all over the place you are because it’s all of us right now 😂😂❤️
LOLLL
Truth!
FACTS 🤣
I dyed my hair permanent black and anti dandruff shampoo made it all come out in few weeks x
thank god!!!! thank u for the info
did u try this method too tho?
Omg thts so helpful!
What kind did you use like Pantene cuz rn I’m using herbal essences and it’s not doing to much and it’s really drying out my hair
Madylann Van strien I think head and shoulders should work
It’s a lot faster and more even if you section your hair first, even if it’s just into four quadrants. You don’t wanna end up with too much spotting. So easy to do with lightening such dark hair.
I wanted black roots and red hair... I decided to do the roots, rinse, then do the red. Now my whole head is black. It’s 5:30 in the morning and I’m having a breakdown
😂😂

When I did head and shoulders and vitamin c I used an effervescent vitamin c which gave a great texture to the compound. I then bent over my bathtub, brushed all of my hair down from the roots, and appliedit from the bowl sitting in the bottom of the bathtub. I don't understand why all these young ladies go through so much effort to apply it with the flat brush. I guess it's for the screenshots, but leaning over the bathtub was 100 times easier.
L M: I don't get why your comment, which provides such a helpful & practical tip, barely has any Likes (while all over RUclips, people who copy&paste stolen quotes get hundreds & thousands on the daily)!?
This was so chaotic and I loved it 😂 I’m gonna do this tomorrow 💗
It really works!!! My hair is super thin and it didn’t break at all, it did get a little dry but using a good quality mask is going to take it to it’s normal. I have to say that prior to trying this my hair was healthy and I haven’t bleached it for over 6 months. I left the mixture on my hair for 2 hours, it washed the black off of it and now the shade is like a light brown color, it’s brassy but it was expected and I’m going to dye the color I want it to be so it’s ok. I wish I could post the before and after pictures here.

This was PHENOMENAL! especially for me! I’ve got DARK HAIR TOO! my hair color is just like yours. That’s kool to know I’ve got that option:) lighten gently with NO DAMAGE:) now this would be a reason for us to use a good shampoo with! I’m thinking TIGI or REDKEN! Maybe grab a an xtra purple shampoo
It came out a beautiful color for you with some highlights.
this worked because developer is made of hydrogen peroxide which opens the hair cuticle and lightly strips color. the purple shampoo is added because purple cancels out yellow but in this case with black box dye ur undertones are gonna be orange so youd want blue, but honestly without a toner first the shampoo doesnt really help or do much. then the baking soda and dish soap are kinda pointless. if anybodys wanting to do this u can just use normal developer, the higher the developer the more it'll lift, but also just know developer wont ever be as effective as bleach but its also a lot less damaging :)
If I’m dying my hair using 30 developer, then could I just leave my hair a dark brown since it’ll lift 2-3 levels? And I want to dye it when it’s 2-3 levels lighter but if the developer is gonna lift it should I just dye it?
she just went all in !!
5am here and snowing, but when I can get my lazy self out of bed I'll be trying this! Good results girl! Xx
Thanks! It really was helpful and your hair looks healthy which is so important.
omg!!! you just saved my self-esteem girl!! 5 seconds and started to lift!
THANK YOU so much for this video! I had dyed my hair from light brown to dark and hated it and I tried this and wow it is lighter than before! Just in time for my birthday !😁😁😁
😂 I love how she just moves the bowls towards her head I thought she was going to just tip it over 🤣 fantastic 🙌♥️
The price beats damaging your hair
totally!!!
It did work!!! It really works ya'll...
So I got a professional permanent #3 dark dark brown color, almost black color on my hair, I wanted to go brunette but then I regretted a week later, so I came to this video and TRIED THIS MIXTURE and I left it for an hour and AMAZINGLY my hair went from dark brown to light brown, with only one try. I'm definitely going to keep doing this until my blonde hair comes back or until I can apply a new color.
Thanks for your video!! It worked on me!!
i did this once to remove bright magenta over bleached, naturally dry/curly hair and it actually took every bit of the magenta out and felt fine after a deep conditioner
what color did it end up being? like a pastel?
My hair ended up a wayyyy darker brown than anticipated,, so this is gonna come in handy rn 😅
Grace Sinclair did you try it? 😄
Cassie Wolfe it works a little bit, what I’d recommend is a colour stripper and put it on the roots LAST. if you’re only lifting to put a slightly lighter tone on then that’s your guy.
Omg same here
Love how you’re sitting on the floor doing this
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours and I’m subscribing rn. I love your humor😂 most girls are so overly serious about their videos... love how you’re just winging it and being yourself. Keep doing you girl💓
You did great! Finally someone actually listed the ingredients in the description!
as a tip for the future i wouldnt even bother with a hair paiht brush other than around the roots and ears, just use your hands with gloves! Best applicator by far :D
Done !!!!this works for me 😁thank you !!!!! Lo acabo de hacer y me funcionó, gracias!!!!
Thanks for your review! Can I Inquire? Do we have to use the purple shampoo?
Dark hair looks great on you !
I have really dark hair as well. Going to try this. Also going to try it on my Bellami hair extensions which are also black
Lmao this video is CHAOTIC 🤣 I don’t usually watch people’s whole videos. But I watched every bit of this
You are the amazingest person !!!!! Thank you so much
u r so sweetttt
🙏Thank you so much for this video! Not only did it make me laugh, 😆but it worked!!!! I have tried everything, and I mean everything, and this worked beautifully! My hair was so dark, almost black and this made my hair a beautiful caramel color! Not orange at all, which I was a little afraid of since my natural hair has reddish tones. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 🤗
Did you follow measurements exactly? I kinda just added everything in and am terrified it’ll be orange!!
@@macydavidson7666 it did work for me and I also just kind of threw it together but it did work I tried to be exact as possible...I have tried other things since then and I have found that if at any time your dark hair does turn orange if you get L'Oreal preference in 7.5 medium ash blonde and die over it, it will turn it a very nice light caramel blonde color and takes out the orange.
Absolutely will be doing this now..
i does my hair black during quarantine and have been dying my hair since like 3rd grade so i'm excited to see what my actual hair color looks like lol
did it work?
did it work?
any update?
This does work on dark box dyed hair, however, it will make your fall out some if you do it for 30 minutes and up. It makes your hair very dry, so sleeping with an olive oil mask on will help put the moisture back in your hair. It also makes the black turn into a lighter red-brown, which blue shampoo can help tone down. It does also come out splotchy if you don’t not saturate the entire head!!
You did a nice job it looks pretty
Very nice i love the end results
Omg i did this it turned out beautiful
Idk man I have this on my hair rn and it burns
Update: I rinsed it off after 30 minutes. It worked about as well as a bleach bath (soap cap) but I normally do the bleach bath for 15-20 minutes. My hair is pretty dried out and my scalp is tender. I've only done 1 Feria box dye on virgin hair and one bleach bath before this, but my hair is not in good condition right now. I'll just stick to bleach baths in the future.
I did this and it damaged my hair. yes it strips color from bleached hair but the color processed hair does not remove color..... Will never try again, advised do not try!!!!!! It will damage hair. Even after a hair mask treatment and deep conditioned it's still damaged.
Thank you! I'm going to give this a go right now👍
Did it work
People say it doesn’t damage the hair but on some of the videos the hair comes out looking like wet noodles. I guess it depends on the f hair was previously bleached. You are way braver than me ❤️
Wait my hair was bleached then toned and then I died it black and now I’m scared to try this. I died my hair black like 3-4 months ago
Well yeah. If someone has fried hair and puts more crap on it of course it will be in even more of a terrible state than it was. If your hair is somewhat healthy you should be fine.
Yeah it's basically mild bleach
I tried the vitamin c pills crushed up with dandruff shampoo and dawn dish soap last night. Didn't do much at all. Did it again today and I noticed a subtle change....I have been dying my hair a dark Auburn for about 6 years. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears!
Turned out Real Pretty
Thanks, very cutely explained, I thought of my sister watching you, she tried this and got it so wrong.
Watching her brush her hair made me wanna cry 😭
I like when she said "I need to find a comb" then proceeds to use a brush on wet hair... 😁
Yes!
So my quarantine boredom got to me and I died my hair both red and deep burgundy in under a month, but it looked ended up looking black and I hated it. I've done this method twice now and I'm truly amazed at the amount of hair dye that's rinsed out. Only difference is I used 30v developer because that's what I had on hand. I'm going to fo it one more time on just the ends of my hair away from my roots to hopefully even it out.
the developer by itself lifted your hair color or with the other additives? Please lmk 🫶🏾
Okay this works really well but don’t use harsh developer I only had thirty so I did it with that and it’s damaged but I have really thick so it’ll be fine but don’t leave it in tooo long either check on it because I left it on for like two hours and I just had to cut some of my hair and do hair mask so it’s really effective like I had black box dye and it made me a dirty blonde but please check on it and don’t leave it in too long and use a 10v developer
You did a good job .
Well yes it's less damage but still anytime you use developer you are risking damage.
Yeah it's basically a mild bleach
Can it be any purple shampoo? Or does it have to be a certain purple shampoo? What is the shampoo for anyways? Thank you! ❤️
I used Johnson’s baby shampoo and the WoW apple cider vinegar shampoo it stripped a lot of paint off it’s a process but it’s definitely working my hair is shiny and healthy 😌
will this still work if it’s been a year since you dyed it? i want to get the old brown out of my hair as much as possible since i’m dark blonde and planning to go light blonde professionally
Wow, well done! 😃 👍🏼
Ok, I tried this myself and it worked, although I think I’m gonna try a second time to strip more color off. I had virgin hair and dyed it black with a DEMI permanent dye. I hated it to say the least. I tried the most famous vitamin c and anti dandruff shampoo (I used head and shoulders, the green apple scented one ) and I just think it gave my hair reddish tones which I hate so much. Hair was still super dark and I even burned my upper eyelids. I tried this and left it for an hour, I distributed the mixture in small sections trying not to touch my roots, regardless they came out lighter but thankfully doesn’t bother me as I parted my hair how I usually have it before applying the mixture and so was able not to ruin that area. So be careful when you try this. It removed the black a little, maybe if I left it longer than an hour, which I think it’s already a lot, it would have lifted more color? I don’t know I was pretty scared. I still have the reddish tones but at least now it’s brown and not black. I’ll try again and hope to lighten it even more.
I’m telling you guys this works for anything any color I love it so much just remember to do a hair mask after
This so chaotic I love it
😝 HAHA
You are so cute, and by the way black hair looked good on you too.
Your hair texture is soooo pretty
I'm looking to try this. So when natural hair comes out darker in the rooms than my dyed hair. Not much of a big difference though. Anyway, I have greys and want to stop dying my hair so I'm wanting to expose my greys all throughout but not sure if it'll work. Everyone on here seems to have dark hair and wants to go lighter. I feel like I'm going reserved. Not much of a different like I said,..... do you think it'll work?
This works thank you 😊
After reviewing your video I couldn’t wait to try this. Thank you so much! I hate bleach. My hair was black. I used a dye to lighten it but my hair didn’t get light enough, it went from black to dark brown.
To get my hair light brown I sprayed my hair with lemon juice. I mixed the baking soda with 20vol and made it like a paste. I also added the purple shampoo. Covered my hair with a conditioning cap and my hair turn medium light brown within 30 mins. I got the color that I wanted thanks to your video. 😃
HIII is the purple shampoo necessary
@@angelina671 i heard someone say that its only necessary if your hair is yellow colored?? Idk but I don't think its necessary if your hair is dark!
Where do you get the 10 volume cream developer?
I’ve watched this 1000 times in one day 😂
Can I apply that mixture on highlighted hair without discoloring my natural hair? I have virgin black hair with blonde highlights that were dyed pink. I don't want to ruin my natural black hair but Im desperate to remove the pink highlights I've had for 4 months. I've tried dandruff shampoo and it helps a bit but now it doesn't bleed anymore.
Hey! How was your hair doing after this method? I always come back to this video when i do this (its my second time)
is there a substitute for the cream developer? i don’t have it
Ok, I tried this on my hair twice. I had bleach blonde hair and then went darker months ago. Anyway I've been trying different methods with no results for ages until,
1st time I tried this method: It didn't do much, I don't know if I didn't use enough baking soda or what, but it didn't do much.
2nd time I tweaked this method: I used more baking soda, and I used 20 VOL (Blondeme brand) instead of 10 vol, I wrapped my head in glad wrap and I also only left it on for about 45 minutes (I was impatient lol)
AND IT WORKED SO WELL, my dark brown hair is now like a very very very light brown, looks like a lighter shade of dark blonde in the sun, best example would be Cara Delevingne's natural hair colour I guess.
I'M SO HAPPY WITH IT, THANKYOU FOR POSTING THIS VID!
Omg i tried your method and my hair went from dark brown (almost black) to light brown, thank you so much!!!!!!! AMAZING!
@@destinyhatfield8081 woohoo!! Those results are awesome! I'm glad it helped😁
I'm going to do this, I just got a big metal bowl of the mix and dunked my head in it, then shoved my hands in the bowl to mix my hair around in the mix. I put a plastic bag on my hair and left it for half an hour. I had maroon red on the bottom 2/3 of my hair, and black on the top 1/3. Way easier application and got my hair completely saturated!
Ayla Vollmer: Was there any kind of chemical reaction, when you used a metal bowl? (I always use plastic bowls & non-metallic tools...)
@@freetheghost I'm not sure if there was. I should have used a plastic bowl though.
Can i also use conditioner instead of cream developer ?
so helpful!!
@CindyMarshall Thank you so much for this!! I just got a horrible dye job done professionally yesterday and I needed something to take it out. This worked perfectly. I found massaging it in gently worked really well for me. Had a horrible red tinted dye in, this took it right out with no damage at all. Love thissss!! 🖤🖤🖤
same things happened to me today😓
me too i wanted dark brown and i literally came out of the salon ginger
CHAOS LOVE IT
question say you dyed your hair black and your hair use to have bleached ends what do i do if i don’t want those bleached ends back
I want to bleach my whole head again, but I have rests of black hair dye that will always let my hair stained after the bleach sections. :(
Edit: just watched the whole video and it worked so well! Thinking about trying it out.
Can i use it with 20 volume I have a black hair I dyed it in october and it faded a little bit???? Does it work for me and do i get my roots to they are my natural color???
Did you put rinse powder on the dye?
Is there anything else I can use instead of purple shampoo ??
You were brave to try this. Pretty🌹
No tips...jusst wanted to say I loved your video! 😊
it work
i got black hair in red hair it removed the black i did same letf it on for 2 hours
thank you im happy
i found your vid is the best one xx
Will it work without the purple shampoo? My hair is so patchy right now and I’m going to order the 10 vol developer tomorrow and it will come fast since I’m buying it from sally beauty but the purple shampoo I will be buying it on Amazon and it will take a few days
Cindy! When you bleach, you always tone! it was orange/brassy, it just needed a toner with a blue base. Of you bleach more, it needs a purple toner to cancel out yellow tones.
I only have 20 volume is that still okay to use?
Girl Theo video cracked me up. I relate to how you’re feeling. And lmao to the Bananna bread omg 😭🤭
I did this. Then when it was in my hair, I read the comments about it frying hair off so I only let it in my hair maybe 10-15 mins with my hair covered. Even only being on my hair a short amount of time, it did lighten it a little bit. My hair doesn’t feel damaged at all. I will probably do this again in a few days and let it on a little longer.
I’m about to do this too. I dyed it burgundy and was hoping the 10vol wouldn’t bleach my actual hair color. Good to know! Thank you! 🧡
I did collagen and my blond hair was yellow. Can I do it without take off my collagen ?
If I used purple conditioner would it be the same ?
Can I not use the cream developer or what's its named?
Me instantly liking bc how beautiful youre intro was
Omg I'm crying 🤣 love how you're all over the place you're just like me. 🤣😭😂
Nice, gotta try it. I want to lift dark brown that looks almost black. It’s build up over years of coloring my roots. But I’d like to get back to my natural brown shade. Wish me luck
Im wanting to try. Did it work well for you
