I tried this method without dandruff shampoo and only used purple shampoo and dawn dish soap, baking soda and 20 developer. My hair was faded Extreme Teal by Overtone. I dyed my hair twice, and my roots are coming back in. I'm applying for jobs and need to get it all out so I have a more professional hairstyle for my next job. This WORKED FOR ME! My hair is normal wavy and I have a buzzed side pixie cut, so very short hair. I've only dyed it this once, so the method stripped almost all of the color out. There are some blue areas where it was still pretty vibrant in the middle, but overall this worked wonders and toned down the original yellow bits of the original bleach blonde. Thanks for the tips!

Worked like a charm to get the remnants of my 11 month old AF purple out of my hair so I can do a new color! I used a great conditioning treatment afterwards and I have a rule of never bleaching my hair more than twice a year (last time was 11 months ago for my roots only), so even though some strands of my hair have come out, I don’t mind because my hair is so thick and fine that I can afford to lose some without notice. Next up: bleach roots, tone, and NEW COLOR! Thank you so much! 💜💙💜💙
Think i can try this without the purple shampoo?🤔 Its the only thing i dont have and my hair is dark green that hasnt faded at all in 2 months 😅 help 😢
I dyed my hair purple with the horrible colorista washout and was perfect but looked like a wig a super fake horrible purple, a I did this and my hair turned out grey and still a bit purple, but they look beautiful! They I have this icy color, the only thing is the hair are a bit dry from the treatment but definitely worth it! Thank you
Hi, love your hair work, it's entertaining to watch. now for this hair color removal, i have used OOPS that has worked for me pretty well and when i saw this video, it looked awesome. BUT without propper meassurements, it metaled a few patches of my hair. so i have to carefully comb my hair out when it dries from a shower. It did okay of removing a bit of the color out, but not as much. the purple shampoo did help of getting the yellow out, so now the yellow is a silver, LOL. This is my update for you of how I handled it, in the process i'm going to let my hair grow out and then cut away the hair I have "damaged" over the times of coloring and lightly CAREFULLY bleaching my hair. thank you so much for the videos you post up, love your work and stay beautiful!!!!
This process doesn't really damage it but it does really dry it out Because baking soda is stripping everything in your hair, the unnatural pigment, The built up product, and the oils. So it does make your hair very dry! Definitely deep condition afterwards
I read to use powdered absorbic acid, with dawn, rather than baking soda. Developer is hydrogen peroxide, and along with baking soda, that is, in itself, the ingredients of most teeth whitening products.
Dea' I use powdered ascorbic acid (vitamin c) mixed with shampoo to remove my hair colour. I don’t add developer, which is far too damaging to my already bleached hair. The vitamin C method works well but is slower than this method since you need to do it a few times to get it back to blonde (or close enough). It’s also a bit drying so I always do a deep condition after.
I have this mixture on my head right now! Clairol Purple Shampoo, Blue Dawn Soap, Head & Shoulders Classic, Baking Soda, 30 Developer (it was the only developer I had) I used Color Fix and it made my hair random shades of deep orange, and yellow at my roots. I did a 2 month wait before trying this. I’ll let you know if I’m bald or not! UPDATE: I left it on for 45 minutes and it didn’t do much, so I did another 10 minute treatment, still not even close to her white hair. So I did a stronger solution with just baking soda, developer, and dandruff shampoo. My hair is lighter but I think I’ll go to a professional once quarantine is over.
This only works if your hair was already platinum before. It won't do as good of a job of lightening hair. If you are looking to go white and weren't platinum before, I would just do a normal bleaching instead. This is to remove direct dyes, not lift color further.
I want to try this with my purple hair. I want to go pink so it wouldn’t be blonde. Would it work with clarifying shampoo instead of purple shampoo since I’m just dying it pink right after?
Hi i want to try this but I am wondering about roots? I have long roots and faded celeb luxury hot pink with the developer do I need to watch my roots ? and I didnt see where you added dish soap?
Hi Aislinn, what / how would you do this if you have half a head of your natural dark brown hair and the other half is grown-out previously lightened (dyed) ? Which hair gets worked on first? Natural dark or previously dye-lightened? Or all at once?
Hey aislinn! Thank you so much for this video! I tried it out on my green hair and it worked!!! I made a video on it and gave you credit for it. I’m so glad I found this video else I would probably ended up using bleach 😭😭
I tried this method just the other day. It took most of the pink out of my hair but not much of the blue. The blue turned bright greenish lol. I literally thought id have to shave my head bald because the mixture wouldn't rinse out of my hair 😂 It was like never ending soap suds. I almost had a panic attack lmao.
Worked amazingly for pink/purple/lavender semi-permanent color!!!! I will definitely use this method in the future! Thanks for all you do, Aislinn! 😻🌈✨🫧
Does it work well with green? I dyed my hair blue and it's now faded into a mint green color and just stuck there no matter how many times I dumped my hair under swimming pool' water 😢
Btw I love ur vids but I have a question I just did my hair red an blonde how do I was it so the red don’t go into the blonde I washed mine in cold water an the blonde turned orange
Aislinn, I died my hair brown with two bleached strips of hair about 8 months ago I’m a natural blonde ash color and hardly ever dye or bleach my hair. Will this method work for me?
My hair is little gold n brown. Tomorrow i try this method i hope its. Work my hair 😅😅 N i want same like ur hair color Whts the name ur hair color plZ
Im 53. Just wondering if this might work for me. I have used permanent 4n and 4nn for years to cover gray/white growth. Now I am looking for something that would remove the 4n/4nn and allow the gray/white to take over??
What is the purpose of the purple shampoo in this? I know the Dawn and Dandruff shampoos are stripping, but why the purple? To tone the hair as it goes blonde?
I’m trying this right now, I have ash blonde roots but I have box dye red/burgundy hair from a permanent box dye, I mixed Purple shampoo Baking soda Dawn dish soap Head and shoulders shampoo 20 volume developer Will check in 30 mins might keep on for 45mins to an hour :) hoping most of the colour comes out.
Im tempted to do this but idk if it'll help. I just want this stubborn red to lift already, especially since im planning on using a green based blue soon.
I had some bright neon red for several months during quarantine. I think there’s something about red pigments that make them stubborn. I tried all sorts of “no damage” methods and products to cover and remove it but what ended up working was just using permanent dye that matched my natural color.
Ah thank you! This method totally works. It totally stripped my hair of bright pink Crazy Color. The only bad thing though is that I forgot I had green under the pink, and I now have a groggy green blonde color 😂. Oh well!
Is it okay to use pastels on the hair afterwards?Like would it show? Because I was gonna do this method and use the Frosé from Artic Fox and I’m not sure if it’ll show very well
I used the L'oeal burgundy temporary/washout dye and it stained my bleached hair blue and hasn't faded completely from my natural hair (a sandy blonde). I tried using dish soap, purple shampoo, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide yet it did absolutely nothing to my hair. Should I just dye my hair all back to my blonde colour using a box dye? It is currently 4 different colours - about 4 inch root, half blonde half pinky/purple tone and the rest is a mix of yellow bleach and blue stained bleach.
Will this work on a pixie cut red ruby splat hair that I applied only to bleached virgin hair (several months ago I bleached my virgin natural dirty blond hair & did nothing except a toner & an alien grey semi permanent until the splat was added)? I don’t want my hair to fall out & this method sounds risky...the roots have grown an inch in already. What ratios of this mixture would you recommend for my pixie hair?
Does it work on boxed hair dye? My hair is black and trying to go to a different color and I really don’t wanna bleach again. Done it so much in the past.
So I put artic fox wrath on my brown hair if I want to do this method to take the red out do I still use the purple shampoo or is it not needed since my hair isn't blonde underneath??
Yeah you shouldn't need it because you're just trying to get back to your brown hair. If you were blonde underneath and wanted to get rid of yellow that's what the purple shampoo is for
I use purple shampoo on my brown hair and it seems to fade out the semi permanent color... Just be aware that purple shampoo does dry out your hair so make sure you condition afterwards xP

@@dianeaishamonday9125 you put the ACV in the mixture?
Worked like a charm to get the remnants of my 11 month old AF purple out of my hair so I can do a new color! I used a great conditioning treatment afterwards and I have a rule of never bleaching my hair more than twice a year (last time was 11 months ago for my roots only), so even though some strands of my hair have come out, I don’t mind because my hair is so thick and fine that I can afford to lose some without notice. Next up: bleach roots, tone, and NEW COLOR! Thank you so much! 💜💙💜💙
can i use everything she mentioned minus the developer to get rid of my blue hair?
Think i can try this without the purple shampoo?🤔 Its the only thing i dont have and my hair is dark green that hasnt faded at all in 2 months 😅 help 😢
I dyed my hair purple with the horrible colorista washout and was perfect but looked like a wig a super fake horrible purple, a I did this and my hair turned out grey and still a bit purple, but they look beautiful! They I have this icy color, the only thing is the hair are a bit dry from the treatment but definitely worth it! Thank you
Thank you for this! Did this to get rid of a red dye from the tips of my extensions so I could dye them completely yellow! Worked like a charm 😩
Do you think if you put coconut oil on your hair first, let sit about an hour then put the baking soda mix on it it’d help with drying it out??
This process doesn't really damage it but it does really dry it out Because baking soda is stripping everything in your hair, the unnatural pigment, The built up product, and the oils. So it does make your hair very dry! Definitely deep condition afterwards
I read to use powdered absorbic acid, with dawn, rather than baking soda. Developer is hydrogen peroxide, and along with baking soda, that is, in itself, the ingredients of most teeth whitening products.
Now I'm waiting for a video of someone removing hair color with tooth paste 😂🙈
Dea' I use powdered ascorbic acid (vitamin c) mixed with shampoo to remove my hair colour. I don’t add developer, which is far too damaging to my already bleached hair. The vitamin C method works well but is slower than this method since you need to do it a few times to get it back to blonde (or close enough). It’s also a bit drying so I always do a deep condition after.
I might try the products separately and maybe on a strand/small section. I’m glad you gave the disclaimer and others have given their input.
I only have 30 vol too and my hair is kinda damaged so I’m scared but I rlly wanna do it
This only works if your hair was already platinum before. It won't do as good of a job of lightening hair. If you are looking to go white and weren't platinum before, I would just do a normal bleaching instead. This is to remove direct dyes, not lift color further.
I knew about 3 of those ingredients but never thought of using baking soda... This is the video I've been needing for years thank you xP
Omg i 💙💚💜 ur eyeshadow in this video! Would u pretty please do a tutorial on how to do it? Love all ur vids 🤘
If I only have 20v developer, do you think I should leave it on the hair for less than 30 minutes?
the music used in this video gave me flashbacks to 2016 musically
Same 😅
I absolutely love your eyeshadow look in this video. Gorgeous 😍 I’m definitely going to be trying something similar.
I want to try this with my purple hair. I want to go pink so it wouldn’t be blonde. Would it work with clarifying shampoo instead of purple shampoo since I’m just dying it pink right after?
Great video! How well do you think this would work on permanent dark brown/black hair dye? My natural hair is light brown hair with some silver.
Hi i want to try this but I am wondering about roots? I have long roots and faded celeb luxury hot pink with the developer do I need to watch my roots ?
and I didnt see where you added dish soap?
Are those clip in extensions?
I needed this video when I was trying to get blue out of my hair!!! 😭 oh well now I know for the future!
I literally thought id have to shave my head bald because the mixture wouldn't rinse out of my hair 😂
It was like never ending soap suds.
I almost had a panic attack lmao.
💀😂😂😂
Can you replace purple shampoo for purple treatment?
I was wondering if this mix would have any effect on untouched roots
Should I leave out the purple shampoo if I'm trying to lift blue? Would that add anything to the mix?
Worked amazingly for pink/purple/lavender semi-permanent color!!!! I will definitely use this method in the future! Thanks for all you do, Aislinn! 😻🌈✨🫧
Does it work well with green? I dyed my hair blue and it's now faded into a mint green color and just stuck there no matter how many times I dumped my hair under swimming pool' water 😢
Will it work just as well coating the hair with coconut oil??
Is purple shampoo needed?
Btw I love ur vids but I have a question I just did my hair red an blonde how do I was it so the red don’t go into the blonde I washed mine in cold water an the blonde turned orange
I have blue hair and want to remove it.. how many times do i have to do ? Can i do like 3-4 Times??
So I'm using it but it's getting WARM lol is it supposed to ? Seemed to get warmer quicker than bleach
Does this work only with previously bleached hair? Or would it work to take natural color out?
Is it okay to use any dish soap or does it have to be dawn
Aislinn, I died my hair brown with two bleached strips of hair
about 8 months ago I’m a natural blonde ash color and hardly ever dye or bleach my hair. Will this method work for me?
My hair is little gold n brown. Tomorrow i try this method i hope its. Work my hair 😅😅
N i want same like ur hair color
Whts the name ur hair color plZ
Holy smokes this is awesome!!!!! You’re freaking awesome for showing us this! Do you know if this would work to strip permanent or fade it a little?
Im 53. Just wondering if this might work for me. I have used permanent 4n and 4nn for years to cover gray/white growth. Now I am looking for something that would remove the 4n/4nn and allow the gray/white to take over??
Do you haft to use the dish soap since you added the two Shampoo
Would Palmolive work instead of dawn ?
my hair turned green and also this is my 3rd round, im praying that all the color comes out, im tired
What is the purpose of the purple shampoo in this? I know the Dawn and Dandruff shampoos are stripping, but why the purple? To tone the hair as it goes blonde?
I’m trying this right now, I have ash blonde roots but I have box dye red/burgundy hair from a permanent box dye, I mixed
Purple shampoo
Baking soda
Dawn dish soap
Head and shoulders shampoo
20 volume developer
Will check in 30 mins might keep on for 45mins to an hour :) hoping most of the colour comes out.
Vannessa Ciemitis did it work?
yea did it??
#3 yeah did this work?
fuck you vannessa
I’m curious too... did it ?
Im tempted to do this but idk if it'll help. I just want this stubborn red to lift already, especially since im planning on using a green based blue soon.
I had some bright neon red for several months during quarantine. I think there’s something about red pigments that make them stubborn. I tried all sorts of “no damage” methods and products to cover and remove it but what ended up working was just using permanent dye that matched my natural color.
Can you PLEASE tell me what colours you have on your lids. Your eye makeup is absolutely magical!
Will this work on permanent dark brown hair color? Or what would be the best solution it’s like a level 3?
Do you think this would work on completely virgin hair if you’re trying to lighten before dyeing?
I’d LOVE to know what eyeshadow you used!!!!! Gorgeous!
Is it possible to use 20 vol developer and thererfore leave the mixture in for less than an hour?
I don’t live in the US... Does it need to be dawn dish soap? Or any dish soap will do?
Ah thank you! This method totally works. It totally stripped my hair of bright pink Crazy Color. The only bad thing though is that I forgot I had green under the pink, and I now have a groggy green blonde color 😂. Oh well!
can i dont use purple shampoo
Will this work on permanent red hair dye 😩
Is it okay to use pastels on the hair afterwards?Like would it show? Because I was gonna do this method and use the Frosé from Artic Fox and I’m not sure if it’ll show very well
Does it work without developer I'm hoping to go lighter but can't find any bleech it's all sold out x
GIRL! You saved my hair omg.
So will it take out black box hair dye
Will this work on a pixie cut red ruby splat hair that I applied only to bleached virgin hair (several months ago I bleached my virgin natural dirty blond hair & did nothing except a toner & an alien grey semi permanent until the splat was added)?
I don’t want my hair to fall out & this method sounds risky...the roots have grown an inch in already.
What ratios of this mixture would you recommend for my pixie hair?
Does it work on boxed hair dye? My hair is black and trying to go to a different color and I really don’t wanna bleach again. Done it so much in the past.
Does it have to be dawn dish soap?
I would like to try this but can you send me the measurements of the products. I only could tell a cup of purple shampoo.
Wow, this is awesome!! Girl you are mad freaking talented and absolutely gorgeous!!
So I put artic fox wrath on my brown hair if I want to do this method to take the red out do I still use the purple shampoo or is it not needed since my hair isn't blonde underneath??
Yeah you shouldn't need it because you're just trying to get back to your brown hair. If you were blonde underneath and wanted to get rid of yellow that's what the purple shampoo is for
@@donnawhite4688 I thought so I just wasn't sure if there was a secret ingredient in the purple shampoo I didn't know about haha
I use purple shampoo on my brown hair and it seems to fade out the semi permanent color... Just be aware that purple shampoo does dry out your hair so make sure you condition afterwards xP
Nice job this is very helpful but I have to say I love how you did your eye makeup very striking beautiful colors😀
Did u use this mixture on your roots too?
Can I do this with black hair extensions?
Will this help take the smell from color oops out. Made my hair ashy green from red.
Does it work on a highlighted hair that wass colored with a 7 v color ?
Can i use another dish soap?
Just curious, is this still your go to method for removing color?
