    Black dye is roughhhh, it really does just stick around forever. When I decided to start doing vivids on the entire top section of my head, I had been dying my hair black, sometimes with box dye, for 10 years. I was only ever able to lift that section to a gingery color, at which point I decided I would do dark colored vivids/a light color transitioning to a darker one until it grew out. Like 2 years later and that entire section has mostly grown out, but it has been a journey lol.

    That orange/copper colour is what it is supposed to lift to. The colour remover does not replace bleach, and you will always have to bleach it after removing the colour. I work at a hair salon and you use colour remover to make your lightening process easier so you don't have to bleach the black out, especially with box dye. Hope this helps :)

I wouldn't say it's my favorite hair color, but I think you could totally pull it off until you actually find something to fix it. Idk it kind of has this firey ombre effect that I like.

    stella, i growing out my pixie cut since 2020, and when my hair grows a little bit i immediately bleach and dye pink, purple, blue or some bright colors which i love. but after 3 years my hair length is like my shoulder size. that because i had to cut my ends very often because of bleach damage. now 3 year of bleach i stopped. my hair is dark brown rn and its never been healtier. dont listen anybody if you wanna grow your hair because anytime you bleach your hair, ends will be dry and crispy. if you wanna share videos, share about your haircare routine, haircare tips etc. unless you never have loong long hair again. Girl i box dyed my hair black for 2 and a half years every month and i color removed it twice with the color remover you always use back in September and my ends turned pumpkin orange and my roots turned yellow blonde so idk why it wouldn’t work on you. Plus i used to overlap the black dye. Okay i watched the video and your hair looks exactly how my hair looked like 4 months ago when i color removed it twice with Schwarzkopf bond enforcing color remover. Now my hair is mainly blonde or silver (when i use purple shampoo) and i still have like 5 centimeters of very very light orange (it faded alot) left on the top layer of my hair. The rest is all silver now.

    You can't expect a direct dye remover to take away a developer/oxidized black dye. The chemical composition is different and they are different in the way the color is developed onto your hair.
    Direct dye is just that, a dye that uses no developer and simply sits on the top of your hair shaft like a stain does on clothing. With these dyes what you see is what you get. The color of the dye is what your end result will be in your hair. They are always semi permanent and tend to fade considerably within a few washes. They are usually the odd colors you can't find in a permanent form like blue, pink or green. The only variable is the level of the hair when it is applied. If you want bright primary blue hair you need a light blond nearly white head of hair. If you want a muddy tone of blue you can get away with a dark blond to very light brown and on anything darker then that it will just appear as a highlight in the sun. Colors like that are best removed by using a remover like "Malibu CPR" made specifically for direct dyes.
    A "developed" or oxidized dye uses the developer to make the dye molecules and your hairs cortex to swell and deposit them permanently into the hair. These colors are very light when first mixed but get darker and turn into the final color result over time. Products like "Color Oops" work on those types of dyes but they only typically remove one or two layers of dye at a time. You mentioned dying your hair dark multiple times so you will need to use it at least 2 and possibly more times to remove all the permanent dye. They do work though. I go from black every Winter/Fall to platinum blonde every Spring/Summer so I can dye my hair fun crazy colors. Without them I would be bald from bleaching so many times. Sorry for the long post but so few people know the difference of dyes and it really helps to know what your doing and use the right products for the result you are looking for.
    Also, the powder/crystal sachets are not a marketing ploy to make you feel like you are contributing more. The chemicals used have a very short shelf life when they are mixed. Most are only about an hour and they will no longer work properly because they lose their strength. This is the first time I have watched one of your videos and I just clicked out of curiosity because you came up in a related video search. I know I am about a year late with this information. GAH! I will keep watching your videos though because you are unique and delightful. 😃💟

    Y’all, if you ever want blue hair, be prepared to fight to get that blue hair dye out. It’ll be a long fight, too. Took 2 rounds of direct dye remover, a bleach wash, and 3 bleaches with 6% (20 volume) developer. I’m never using blue or ANYTHING with even so much as a blue undertone *E V E R* again. Had to cut off a bunch due to the bleaches, but I got my desired colour. Just gotta rock a short bob for a while. 💖

    • @peachdreams
      @peachdreams Год назад +8

      aw, in future you could just put pink over the faded blue (post colour removal) and it will give you a purply pink for a time, eventually repeated pink dye will replace a lot of the blue (damaged hair does not want to let go of all the colour deposit and so a way to remove it can be to add your pink for it to eventually hold onto instead. From my experience anyways :)

    Stella you need to use an actual colour remover (ColourB4 is my classic go to I've used countless times to remove everything from permanent red and brown to fun colours, and I always get my hair up to at least yellow, and with zero lift to my natural (a true colour remover would not lift your natural virgin hair and should not contain peroxide). The process takes a long time with the wash out stage, which is very important (this is where you wash out the shrunken colour molecules from the hair shaft, if you don't rinse out properly you will just be undoing the colour removal if you bleach or dye it in future. P.s Pink would look cute as always :)

    • @pobstrel
      @pobstrel Год назад +12

      Agree. So many people make the easy mistake with colour removers.They focus on leaving it on the hair but the rinsing thoroughly is as important to get all of the colour molecules out.

      But color can lift the natural hair colour slightly. Last time I used a colour remover, my hair was a dingey brown. And I'd not bleached it before

    • @peachdreams
      @peachdreams Год назад

      @@HillbillyYEEHAA exactly! :) any permanent hair dye (accept semi-permanent deposit dyes like pink or blue etc) will lift the natural hair colour underneath the colour that one dyes their hair, peroxide also can lift hair. Even an inexperienced hairdresser can wrongly apply a toner and lift someone's virgin hair between foils for example if they use a too high developer or leave it too long. True colour removers do not contain peroxide or ammonia or bleach. A lot of people think these colour removers have lifted their natural, but it was already lifted by the hair dye they had put over it.

    You are going to need at least 4-6 lifts to get the box dye out, and then you are going to need to add in pigment. That’s because you have to literally go through every color to get out of black (red - orange - yellow - green ash). It’s just a process. Why not go for a nice light ash brunette? I feel like i dye my hair as frequently as you do 😹 I just don’t record it. I’ve been dyeing it since 2018, and I think I already had every possible color 😹 I love your videos because i feel you represent me 🥲🥲

    Schwarzkopf works the best. It’s the best one I’ve used to remove box dye. For dark brown and black I’ll use 20
    Vol to remove

    I like it. It almost looks intentional. Too many haters! I think a hot root dye would be great. Maybe a cold “hot” root scheme???

    In next video you could try to bleach your ends again with 9% developper and then dye them some lighter color 😁 for now they are still pretty dark :<
    BUT the fire-roots with this hair length would make your hairstyle look literally like fire :D the way you combed them up with your hands when they were wet 😄😄🔥🔥🔥

    that Schwarzkopf you have would be great to put on the ends(if you have the energy to do it lol) before the pink!

    I'm pretty sure they sell the powders and developers separate because they cause a reaction and are only good for a specific period of time lol. I didn't know that about the eggs though. I learned something new.

    Idk why, but I don’t hate it? Like after the first round of remover. It does kind of look like fiery hair. Doing the roots or doing a fun color over everything could maybe be a fun idea. Maybe red or pink? With a SEMI permanent😂

    As a hair professional, I know exactly what steps were the wrong ones and knew exactly what was going to happen due to those steps.
    With a bit more information/theory knowledge it definitely would have gone much better and be much less of a colour correction.
    In saying all of that, I still enjoy your videos and how much fun you have with your hair! ❤️

      Any advice I’m happy to get! Unfortunately when doing anything on yourself, the process does get a lot more difficult so I always aim to get the best out of what I am able to do myself at home

      @@StellaCini That's what we're here for! Definitely some research on Oxidation vs Reduction colour removers. Both the DDL & Schwarzkopf Remover are bleach based so they will lift your natural colour as well as the artifical. The CPR isn't bleach based so wouldn't have altered your natural colour 😊
      It's super handy to know the difference and how to differentiate the types of Colour Remover. Both have a place and its always good to know what's best for the results you're after 🥰

    Think the pink cpr packet is more gentle then the blue one because it’s not bleach based. I don’t think the pink one would have lifted your roots as much either.
