My personal experience is that when I stopped drinking water immediately after eating & started to drink water after 1 hour my digestion improved,no acidity and less bloating.
I suffered from acidity from childhood until I was 21. Then, someone advised me to drink water only 30 minutes before and after meals. Believe it or not, I've been acidity-free ever since. Now 29, I continue to follow this simple yet effective @Dr pal , request you to do more research on this Edit: Thanks for all the responses! I didn’t expect to see so many people following this and experiencing the same benefits as I have. For those who are questioning this practice, please listen to what Dr. Pal says: there is currently no evidence to prove that drinking water during meals (applies to just before or just after meals) makes digestive process inefficient. You need to understand that lack of research/evidence doesn't mean the practice itself is wrong. People in the West often question and mock Indian practices initially, only to spend millions of dollars on research to ultimately find that these practices make sense. A similar thing happened with intermittent fasting; it was initially not accepted due to a lack of evidence, but now, with more research supporting it, there is growing acceptance and adoption of these concepts.
This is not only said by Sadhguru, it is basic information said by elders that we shouldn't drink more water immediately before and after meal. Little sip of water can be had not too much.
Dr. Pal. For the last 10 years I don't consume water before and during the meal. And my Acidity is normal, Digestion is good and no constipation. I have tested on my own body and following till now.

I have great respect for Dr. Pal's videos, and his unparalleled knowledge in the field. But, in this case, given my personal experience, I have seen drinking less or no water immediately after food helps reduce bloating and gastric issues. I used to face a lot of issues with gastric issues and bloating. I stopped drinking water immediately after meals, and I see great improvement! It works for me
Yeah. Exactly. I used to drink water a lot while eating and after lunch. At one time i bloated alot that leads me to consult doctor. After i heard somewhere "We should take 2 hours gap after lunch to drink". Suprisingly it works for me. 😊😊 Now no bloating issue.
What Sadguru said was 100 percent true. I don't support him personally on everything he says. But on this matter, yes. When I drink water immediately after eating food, I feel quite bloated. Where as, when I drink Water after after half to 1 hour, it's digested easily.

After knowing this technique i won't drink water 30min before and 2hrs after the meal. I found my digestive system was improved . iam following This technique for last 17years.

No, that person is right. I had severe digestion problem. It reduced after I stopped taking water during food. Instead I started having after 30 minutes. Still I kept a glass of water in case of hiccups or emergencies. Raitha, Rasam were good enough liquid during meals.
Sadguru is right in this point.. Avoid drinking water while having food is highly recommended by our ancestors for 1000s of years even before science has been developed.. For sure, it gives great result including myself.. I stopped drinking water while eating When i heard this from our parents and teachers.. Since then my digestive system is going smoothly by God’s grace ❤

I too was facing digestive issues like acidity, bloating from a long period of time. Because of my habit of drinking water immediately after having food. Now I avoid doing it. And it is much better now

Many of you are following but let me tell you that it's just about quantity of water, if you've noticed in our culture people have one glass of water while having food and before eating they just a little amount of water in their hand from the same one glass and make a circular round over tha place to purify or secure it and the left amount of water we use for tha whole food while eating, it's your choice and requirements whether you can drink in mid or after meal. So it helps you swallow the more dry food you eat. And yes absolutely shouldn't take more water then it, if not then could affect your digestion. ❤
Ayurveda also talks about jathar agni, and prohibits consuming water with meals although it doesn't say anything about dilution. In my teenage years i have experienced lot of digestive problems because i used to consume water especially during meals and it has caused me lot of digestive issues acidity constipation , stomach pain. One day i was hearing a audio regarding rules of eating given in ayurveda. I started following some of them and after 2-3 months i started observing difference. It has been 6 years and now i rarely have any digestion issues.
There's no such thing. You improved cuz of your own psychology not cuz you followed ayurveda. As per evidence based Medicine, there's no relation between consuming water during meals and bloating. Infact drinking water during meals helps one swallow food and it can aid in digestion as well.. Not drinking enough water can lead to aspiration at times

@@SudeshChouhan then there is something seriously medically wrong with you. Water should not be able to destroy your digestive power. Your stomach acids are supposed to be strong enough to dissolve metal.
I cant belive Dr saying this, its common sense and basic chemistry to understand, drinking very little is fine, but a cup would definitely vave impact.
In Ayurveda, it's generally believed that drinking a large amount of water right before or during a meal can dilute the digestive agni (fire), which is responsible for breaking down food. This can, in theory, lead to slower digestion, which might cause indigestion or bloating in some individuals. Ayurveda emphasizes the importance of maintaining a strong digestive fire for optimal health and suggests drinking small sips of warm water with meals rather than a large amount at once. From a modern medical perspective, however, there is no strong evidence that drinking water before or during meals significantly impairs digestion. Water does not seem to dilute digestive enzymes to a point where it would affect digestion in a healthy person. Drinking water may actually aid digestion by helping the body break down food, making it easier to absorb nutrients. So, while Ayurveda and some anecdotal experiences suggest potential digestive benefits of avoiding large amounts of water with meals, modern science typically views this concern as minimal for most people. It's best to consider your own body's response and drink water in a way that feels comfortable and aids your digestion. Ayurveda is divine knowledge from the source. Scientific knowledge is recent knowledge.
Water before meal: Drink 30 minutes before any meal if thirsty. With the meals: Ayurveda suggests not to drink water with the meals, causing indigestion in the long run, a few sips of water is fine if needed. After the meal: after 1 or 2 hours, there will be a natural thirst and that's how your system communicates with you that it needs water now. So have a glass of it. ❤
But Experientially this is truth fir me though. And I have seen with many other as well. If I drink water with food, my food remains in my stomach bag for longer time and feel heavy. If I don't drink water with food, actually my stomach bag gets empty quicker, and I feel light. And that's what he is saying here. One thing in my experience, we should include high water content food. Instead of drinking water during or immediately after food.
Ayuvedhic and sidha medicine of course won't have scientific proof. It is an age old system. We never asked our grandma to show scientific proof. Dr. Pal has to learn the traditional way of healing people too.
Sorry. But not drinking water untill one hour after food has practically reduced my acidity problem. You may not have any clinical evidenc, doesnt mean another persons experience is not true.
Always remember.Modern science accepts only allopathy as scientific.Other methods like Ayurveda, Homeopathy,Naturopathy ,Yoga ,meditation are not considered scientific because they are not tested and proven in a laboratory as per "THEIR SCIENTIFIC METHODS". It took them several decades and after spending billions of dollars on their scientific research they have finally given their approval for "Fasting "to cure illnesses and gave a scientific term Autophagy. Before the research most medical fraternity used to ridicule anybody who used fasting as one of the methods to cure their illnesses. Now new terminology in fasting like Two meals a day ,OMD, 16hour fasting, long fasting, short fasting, dry fasting etc have surfaced actively promoted by these medical doctors. So RELAX and continue using alternative methods like ayurveda, yoga, homeopathy etc as long as they cure your illnesses and lead a healthy lifestyle. Let's all try avoid gulping down chemicals and make food as our medicine instead of making medicine as our food.

Sadhguru and Isha Foundation is a huge fraud. They are under investigation by police at present.
Ayurveda also talks about jathar agni, and prohibits consuming water with meals although it doesn't say anything about dilution.

you are partially correct. But my experience is that drinking water with food destroys my digestive power
Long winded way to say Ayurveda is wrong
Ayurveda is super knowledge come from beyond everything but understand by only some it's can cure anything
Sadhguru is right here, many face acidity just because of drinking water during or after eating food

@@Vinod-yn2uq im stating facts. check the cases. Do not pass bollywood dialogues "attacking feeling blah blah.."
This is the only Dr. Pal video that's inaccurate. Sadhguru says many inaccurate things, and this is not one of those. Love to Dr. Pal for all his great work!
This chap is a doctor. All his knowledge comes from books written by others and regurgitated at the right time!
Sadhguru is a realised Master. He's neither trying to position himself as an expert on nutrition nor has he an axe to grind with allopathy. His words are also echoed by practitioners of Ayurveda and Siddha, and the results have already been endorsed by many here, who have experienced the results personally.
So much for the stand-up doctor, and his pontification.
Another Sadhguru bakt who thinks water is acidic 😂
Ok when you fall sick next time, dont take any medicines and dont visit a doctor or go to a hospital. Go to Sadhguru and ask for cure.
Appeal to authority & cognitive dissonance is full blown epidemic in this chat loool
He himself gets treatment in hi class hospitals. Why can't his disciples treat him.
SadGuru is a realised Master 🤭🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@nshashank9975i stopped taking english medicines for illness. now i didnt go to medical shop for almost 5 years
I have followed it since my grandfather told me to do so. He lived to see his 101 birthday. Fingers crossed 🤞
If you had weak digestion follow sadhguru if you have acidity problem drink water with food.
Whenever I tried to drink water with food the digestion is difficult and I can't eat in full capacity.
I think this advice was subjective based on situations.
Bro.. Drinking Water after an hour from meal reduced my acidity issue.
So I would definitely won't recommend drinking water with Food at all.
Firstly, Mr Jaggi Vasudev is not a doctor hence his knowledge about the medicine is questionable without a doubt. Because there are many instances where Mr Jaggi Vasudev has gone wrong in his chosen field while narrating the puranas and forgetting the harsh realities of this existing nation.
@@akshaygilda3647it has worked for you but that does not mean that it will work for everyone.
It isn't.. Cuz drinking water doesn't cause any digestive problems
@@chandrareddy4392First of all, he doesn't narrate puranas. He teaches classical Yoga. And he is very well aware of the situation in the country. Go inform yourself about his social outreach programs. 70% of his activities are rural India. Starting with project green hands, rally for rivers, save soil, Cauvery calling, free program in jails, free education for tribal children etc.

And besides, this issue of water drinking, it's such a simple thing, we don't need a doctor for that. Different doctor has different opinions. We can simply experiment and experience. And it has worked for me.
Sadhguru is absolutely right , drinking water dilutes the HCL acid present in the stomach and leads to bloating and indigestion , i personally stopped drinking water and half of my stomach problems went away
Dr Pal is definitely wrong on this one 🤔
Almost everyday for breakfast I add peanuts and banana to my mixer along with very little water and eat and have no problem
But on few days when I accidentally add more water to that mix than I usually add , I suffer bloating in my stomach on all of those times without exception.
I don’t care about scientific evidence. What he said is absolutely true.
Watching your videos from tajikistan 🇹🇯 , i want to become a doctor like you
Full support towards your journey from this side bro, ignore the other comment
@@Username12038 thank you so much bro
He is a good youtuber, doubtful if he is a good doctor 😅
I stand by Sadguru Side. Dr. Pal there is a reason why world wide people will listen to his words.. Please come out of your own circle..
I like Dr. Pal, I also like Sadguru. It need not be one against another. We are hearing two points of view,we can try both, observe how our body behaves and do what works for us. .
Im a doctor myself i agree Sadhguru is a doctor for all doctors..
I use to respect you Dr but posting videos like this will only harm you in the long run. Sadhguru suggestion is totally based on ayurveda which is totally correct for the people who have that particular body type with weak agni. Atleast, you should have respected that before making fun out of it.
I stand with Sadhguru statement sir I personally experienced
Because of the stupid idea of not taking water along with food.. People ignored to take water later and developed various diseases leading to deadly dehydration and electrolytes imbalance.
Bhai ye kuch jyda nhi hogya😂
The point is not to drink with food. You can always drink it after. Obviously you didn't listen.
To wo hutiye log hai usme sadguru kya karenge
Now there is no cure for stupidity right? Just cause the guy said don’t drink a lot of water while eating, and you stop drinking water even when your body is telling you, that’s not the guys mistake.
Bhakwas
Lol I literally had h pylori infection and without any meds I solved it just by drinking water 1hr after taking any meal! And in less than 1 month ,my digestive system got better than before!
Yes that's cuz H pylori just causes mild acute gastritis when it first infects you. But as per your statements, the H pylori is still there in your stomach but is dormant. Actually there's no need to take antibiotics unless it's causing ulcers as recommended by modern medicine. Many doctors are unaware of the fact that it can protect against GERD, Barrets esophagus and adenocarcinoma esophagus. Eradicating Hpylori without proper indication can predispose you to them. But if you get an ulcer cuz of Hpylori it's better to take antibiotics cuz that's dangerous
1 hr gap is a huge gap 😂
Technically your water is already absorbed 15 to 20 mins after you drink it so how is it helping a meal which you take 1 hour after?
intestinal juices are a buffer solution. They keep their pH even when diluted, so that enzymes can keep functioning.
Lab rats with no common sense 😂
I have been following to drink water only 1 hrs after meal and my digestion improved significantly.
