- Hello and welcome to SOUTHEND AVIATION!
Today I witnessed my first A320NEO up close start up! I'm genuinely surprised once again how loud this was! The fuel kicking in creates a loud, low pitched bass noise similar to that of the GE90! Enjoy!

WOW! 400+ views in 24 hours! Thank you all so much! ~ Shaun.
0:44 I absolutely love it!
Love that loud bassy sound
Definitely sounds almost to a GE-90 on a 777-300ER.
the baby brother
Yes almost
Inside is no different.
Exactly...
Yup just like the 737 max, both have the cfm leap series engines!
I live for these babys starting up, i work ramp for Frontier and NEO's are by far my favorite to PushBack
Thomas Giblin same here but the engines need years to start :D
Except for the fact that any aircraft less than a year old takes 5 years to start up
Not quite ;) the PW4000s on the A330 and 767 etc can take a while to reach idle... Few videos on YT, worth a watch.
I also ramp at PVR and get to listen to the frontier 320N engines. It's the best 😍
them and the Triple 7"s 300 ER with the GE 90 Best sounding Engine @ start up and overall
1:39 i like how the engine's tail cone changed colors when fuel was ignited.
That’s the heat doing that ;)
Really? It almost sounds like as if it was passing gas.
@@littlemissleslie2345 well it is a tail cone 😂
When both engines at idle it sounds like my hoover lol
Ok this is insane ... the way it just explodes into bass!!!
Wow, listen at baby brother starting up, I figured the leap would sound like it counterpart ! 👍🏼👍🏼
I flew on the A320NEO for the first time on Tuesday, going from Amsterdam to Southend after a day trip at the Dutch capital. Was expecting an A319, but was very pleasantly surprised when the A320NEO pulled into the gate at Schiphol! As soon as I boarded it, I already fell in love with it! Nice new slimline seats, the unique sound of the A320NEO, the brilliant acceleration down the runway at Schiphol and the very quick climb out of the runway! Before I knew it, we were already through the clouds and near cruising altitude.
Amazing Sound!
every......single....time I hear this, I'm incapacitated from sheer pleasure ❤️
I love the sound of the LEAP engines!
Good sound spooling. I remember BAC 1-11's starting up there, and people would hold their ears !
Never had the pleasure of hearing one unfortunately, Loudest airliner I've heard would be the MD-83.
@@SOUTHENDAVIATION They were quite tame by comparison ! The earlier DC9 were a bit louder, though they shared engine commonality with the 737/200. There are a couple of vids on here of a 1-11 starting up, if you search robin pinnock, you should be able to see and hear that.
Awesome video!! I start up the Pegasus ones at RTM sometimes. The sound is incredible!
Thanks Rudi, tell you what this new generation of engins may not sound the best at take off power, but they sure as heck win for start up sounds!
Impressive start-up sounds here pal!
You know man! Thanks for watching!
It seems with the modern high bypass engines the startup is quite loud. especially the 787 if you sit next to the wing, but the take off is a bit too quiet on them, however the reverse thrust can also be very powerful loud when used
The loudest and most powerful fart I've ever heard
😂😂

1:40 - DAT SOUND
Fantastic video! I love the sound, but I also think the changing color of the exhaust cone as the engine lights off and heats up the metal is interesting. You can see it go from a brassy color to a darker shade, turning various shades of brown and purple until the thing is at idle. Most visible when the second engine starts.
Thanks! Yes it's cool to watch! You this a lot on the 787's engine tail cone it's more of a dark blue colour. From all the oils, burning fuels and chemicles I suppose.
ohhh how much i missed this sound
That Pssshhh sound reminds me of a Lightning starting up with avpin.
There's one thing you can say about Europe they were never afraid of operating the 747s Compared to their American counterparts. They stayed loyal to the end.

Sounds like a couple of leaf blowers! 😂
Ge90's baby brother
WoW !!!!! Sounded very nice!!!!!
Is this A320-251Neo or A320-271Neo?
This is a 251 NEO, the 271 has the PW 1000GTF :)
This times 30 is what Kolkata Airport sounds like
Just found this channel. The haunting noises right at the beginning, lasting for about 10 seconds, is that a Vulcan bomber by any chance ? The wife says is there a prize for getting it right - we need a new car !
Haha no not quite the Vulcan! This sound is from a CS100 spooling up. The Pratt and Whitteney PW1000G makes a vulcan howl noise when spooling up. I have a few videos of these aircraft on my channel 👍
@@SOUTHENDAVIATION Thanks. I will take a good look !
0:35 wow
It's similar to ge90
0:35
Not bad but for me the CFM56-7B sounds better for me. even while taxiing and Take Off.
Its amazing but i love the sound of pw1100g-jm
Dan - niel read his comment again you blind bitch.
Programmes may be joint but designs are driven by GE. The only way GE could sell to the Airbus was to make it attraktive to the French. Now GE has pulled back to focus on the large fan side of the business. The GE target is to strange RR business streak.
what is that dragon breathing noise at 1:06? :D
That, I believe, is the APU bleed air switching from engine 1 to start engine 2.
@@SOUTHENDAVIATION haha, that's awesome. Really sounds like a dragon :)
Sounds like a lawnmower lmao
Wow it actually does.
Same colour as a Flymo too :)
like easyjet and fly scool Airbus a320
hi can i post this video with credit in instagram?
Absolutely, thanks for asking! :)
LEAP engines?
Correct!
Isn't it sad that Boeing have destroyed their fine reputation?
На взлёте звук испорчен
Too loud!
That's what makes it great!
You must never heard the Carvair in the sixties then!
When Easyjet buys British engines I will fly a Britsh based airline. Why so focused on a French copy of a US GE engine. Spend your money where it is earned.
It's not a "copy" CFMi is a joint program from GE (US) and Snecma (France).
