- One of my favorite characters in Star Wars is Starkiller, or Galen Marek, who was Darth Vader's secret apprentice in the game The Force Unleashed. I lvoe this character so much I decided to learn how to do the basics moves, and also the Sith Flurry combo in the game!

Finally got on Instagram! / gugeyewalker
Military: "Why are you playing with glowsticks?"
Lightsaber Academy pupils: "My goals are beyond your understanding."
Finally! Someone who’s actually learned to use this form. I’m impressed, the force is strong with this one.
@Sir Jeebus ain’t u the same guy who not only posted star wars but reposts vids of Andrew Tate?
I can only imagine how complicated it will get with 2 sabers like starkiller’s clone
For the love of God and Hallelujah! Finally...someone that actually can fight like Starkiller and show me how...! I've played both of the Force Unleashed games, and as far back as I can remember, I've been attempting to mimic Starkiller's insanely awesome combat style, and try applying it to a more practical moveset that can be used efficiently and effectively against an opponent, but couldn't get it down...until I try what you've shown me. Thanks man; you rock!
Why did you stop uploading?
When I first started fighting with Lightsabers I did not know anyting about lightsaber dualing or styles but this form I learned by myself with no idea what I was doing. And I did it exactly like this.
To be honest, same. I always liked the baton sticks that are held like how Starkiller holds his saber, so just started doing that.
LOVE this character! Thank you for showing some love to him. I do Filipino Kali and I agree that the reverse grip (referred to as Pikal Grip in FMA) while somewhat impractical for lightsaber combat, is perfect for Starkiller being he is an assassin. It’s definitely not meant for dueling or sparring, but for getting close to your opponent and getting the job done. It falls in the parameters of “weapon being felt, not seen”. Thanks again for the vid!
The reverse grip, giving heart attacks to professional fencers and medieval enthusiasts since the dawn of unrealistic and unbelievable visual media 😁.
Looks cool tho
@@ImWhyMortalsCry Imagine holding a gun with a reverse grip. Suddenly sounds less cool hey! 😛
@@lucofparis4819 ... You mean the sideways handling? Nah it still looks cool
And why should all video games be realistic and believable? That's not the point.
@@zashgekido5616 No. Holding a sword with a reverse grip is equivalent to holding a gun backwards, pointed at you, _not_ sideways.
I'm gonna use this style whenever I'm in cosplay, I have a character I made up whose a sith assassin, I used to use Makashi because I thought that was something an assassin would use, now I'm gonna try to learn Starkiller's style
I've waited all my life for this. Thank you
I was always wondering how Starkiller fights. Cool video. I wish they had series about Starkiller.
In universe, Galen Marek aka the original Starkiller's chosen fighting forms are Soresu, Shien and Juyo. This one in particular looks like Shien-inspired Juyo (reverse handgrip plus rapid staccato slashes).
The clone from TFU2 uses Ataru, Shien and Niman under the umbrella of Jar'Kai.
As the 100th comment I’d like to note that the sith flurry is a combo! It shouldn’t be an example of how form V would be fought with a reverse grip because it’s primarily just a series of attacks. I could see it not being practical in a realistic sparring circumstance, but you can see it’s lots of flourishes and spin movements in order to feint.
Sam Witwer aka Darth Maul is also the voice of Galen Marek aka Starkiller? :O
So cool!
Yeah. And also Deacon St. John from Days gone and the Emperor in TFU
You need not only draw Form V from his power attacks. The reverse grip is also part of the Shien variant.
I love this technical analysis, though I don't think the Force is needed for a lot of these moves, just lots and lots of rehearsal! whats a Jedi to do all day? and I don't think Vaders patience will last long if you keep screwing up! Practice! Please can we get a reaction vid to the remake of scene38 by Fixitinpost. There's a lot of fencing technique in the choreography, such as the way Obiwan keeps on point with Vader. so while fast and brutal its not flashy like the ott dancing in EpIII
oh yes would love to do something like a breakdown of the scene 38 remake!
The force kinda is used for everything, all the spinning and whatnot, they use the force so they can know what to do
@@LightWarriors I'm very late to the party, but can I ask where you got that lightsaber?
@@wildflower826 I'm also late - I made that one myself.
I’ve already Mastered Blaster Deflection. Now if we could simulate the Force. Shooting Lightning from our finger tips would be so cool if it no one got killed from it.
I never knew I needed to see this and it's absolutely glorious. Kudos for having the patience to break down and replicate this combo to a tie !
I'm wondering, since this is the Sith Flurry, not the regular Shien combo, could this technically count as Starkiller's own version of Juyo ? It definetely has to
I don't know where you're living but it looks beautiful
Really awesome video!
TFU was one of my favorite Star Wars games and I would try and imitate his reverse grip stance because I find it so unique so seeing someone who can break it down and and has learned it is low-key making me geek out a bit.
Will you do the second one too?
Edit: forgot to mention that I like the second one more because he wields two lightsabers at the same time
Damn this vid is an animator's dream reference!
Mad ups dood, really cool shit!!
The wind makes it look so dang cool
Oooo. I just got my Starkiller V4 hilt from Warsabers (waiting for it to be installed) and I’m excited to try this!
4:05 what I like to do here is I use my thumb, and pointer and middle fingers to grip the blade and leave my ring and pinky fingers on the other side of the blade to allow me to quickly transition from reverse to normal grip
It allows a quick transition between grips
Amazing video! Thank you for explaining all the details and nuances. The technique looks truly cool to behold.
Dude, I also have a bro-crush on Starkiller, he's an absolute badass
I have practiced this stance for years i can say I am a master and you my friend have impressed me
This video deserves so much more like
Ever thought about covering Starkiller's WII counterpart? A forehand Juyo.
2:40 I do wanna say it is possible to transition a grip like that on the flat of your palm. I'm not great at it, but it is possible
Note to self: Try to make sure I can do this by April next year, potentially practicing in my Marek Cosplay, in time for Star Wars Celebration.
You don't need to use the force to spin the lightsaber in your hand. I can tell you firsthand that with enough practice and technique, you can practically will it to change grips. I did this by practicing with a collapsible lightsaber while it was closed, then when it's opened, it'll be a million times easier
Wait but I do that spin doe 😳
Pleeeeeease do a video on Starkiller’s Jar’Kai style!!!
what you think, how far from the Blade /Sound the blade is have enormous heat? i mean, the Blade itself burns through Metal Doors and stuff.
So I'm a lil biased I saw your video and I've actually used a lot of what you did with 1 first then to 2 in my dueling group and it actually is practical for dueling and sparring as long as you account for a lot of the cons that may come from it and try to work on those plus reaction and judging distance really matter
Such an underrated video
Now this is a wicked tutorial. My question is what happened to the tip of the saber? Lol. I like how it gets darker as the sun sets really bringing out the brightness of the saber.
Please more combos as Starkiller!!!!
I was able to do the basic spin using this but can you do the combos of starkiller like this for epileptic specal needs first time saber users. Also does it matter if you use your opposite hand as that is your dominant hand when you are cosplaying him
what lightsaber is that it actually looks like a light saber with the pure white center
Im gonna make my own star wars jedi costume for cosplay though im not look like a well known character. Instead im gonna be myself. My costume will be a mixure of Sith Master Starkiller, Sith Acolyte, Jedi Adventure and Kentos Robe.
So far I’ve learn Anakin Skywalker spin & it was a lot much more easier. Let me be honest, StarKiller looks a bite more complicated then Ashoka Tano.
I hold my keyblades in the reverse grip :D
Kunoichi Warriors like myself in Black Desert online use the same fighting styles of a reverse and forward style grips
i always use reverse grip but thats just how ive learned it, i use reverse grip then moe int normal then move back alot so it looks like im using it but really im only using it about 10 percent of the strikes
has anyone attempted to learn the clone’s jarkai style ? Might try to learn it myself
I think starkiller might use form 7 because of is aggressive styel
I swear I remember in the game it said his style was called reverse sith shien 🤔🤔🤔
i need that light saber where can you buy it
Wassap bro! May I ask what gloves you are using in this video? :)
I'm still amazed, mate...! You have trained yourself well, and though lightsaber combat is more complex and less practical, than actual sparring with a sword, it is completely possible that energy weapons, such as the lightsaber, will become prevalent within the next millennium or so, or perhaps in an immensely shorter timeframe, if I have anything to say or do about it; in any case, when lightsabers are developed and safe enough for a single user to wield, then techniques such as these, may yet prove useful, especially to the untrained masses.
Maybe we'll find a way to craft armor like the mandalorians used in sw. That is basically lightsaber proof
Bro. you are a fucking badass.
Good series of videos you have here my space friend, though I think you should have released them with more space in between them, to allow for the algorithm to bring you more new subs (And for the message to pass in your main channel).
Is it me or does that skyline look like Norfolk, VA
Since I watched Starkiller's style I immediately tried to adapt it to my kali training... and the grip changes were a nighmare since the beginning :v
I will try to include these tips, they look very cool. Thanks :D
Kali training???
Bad choice doing in the dark, looks cool but can barely see what you're doing
Can someone tell me the music at 6:40???
Do you still need it?
👍👍
es ist doch schade das wir hier nur diese Nachbauten haben welche wohl viel schwerer sind als es ein richtiges Lichtschwert wäre. anderer Schwerpunkt und so weiter.
Music at 6:40 ?
Still need it?
What's Starkillere real name?
Galen Marek
It’s actually not even that hard for my crazy ADHD brain to flip a saber into reverse grip with just the palm of my hand.
