Whyte is genuinely spot on when he says AJ is too much of a overthinker, even all of that gladiator talk he was going on about and the ring walk is like walking out into the colosseum, to me it seems like he’s forcing a certain mindset when he should just let the emotions and feelings come naturally, at the end of the day it’s a fight

what people aren’t realising is.. AJ, fury, whyte , wilder are all mid 30s .. age has caught up with them. DDD is doing what they were doing when they were 27.. it’s a young man’s sport . Obviously you get the odd fighters that can keep going till late 30s/40s but usually that’s not the case . Simple as that

The science of physical exercise, diet and nutrition and the technology have been around for like 100 years. Perhaps its somewhat improved, but not a lot. Lennox Lewis was world champion at 38 yrs of age, Vitali Klitscho held the world title until he was 41 years old and George Foreman defeated Moorer and became WBA and IBF World Champion at the age of 45 years. B-Hop defeated Pascal for the WBC and IBO world title as a 46-year old in 2011. Hence what Whyte claims, that the age of 35 was old 10 years ago but not anymore, is pure nonsense.

The fight is up for free. Watch it again. Dubois was a dog. AJ was clumsy at the end of the 1st & got hit. Dubois threw some nice body shots in later rounds which explains AJ dropping his guard. At the end of the 4th AJ clowned & showed Dubois to his seat. Dubois corner was don't let AJ back in. Dubois was like a staffy panting, tired but still a dog in him. AJ clocked Dubois lovely in the 5th. Showed no respect to Dubois considering AJ was hurt. Had AJ played that round better it could have been a different fight. How, who knows but certainly different. AJ does have great power. However he needs to not allow an opponent to get him on the inside throwing like a dog at him. AJ shouldn't retire but that depends on his will to fight again. A decent fight will be against Miller. AJ needs another fighter who got nothing to lose, a fight we should have had & if he comes through then it gives a path for AJ. A rematch against Dubois he's not ready. Hes been given fighters that compliment his range. Pressure nothing to lose will show if AJ has something. There is his mental health. More shots to the head need to be avoided won't hold longevity. Props to AJ so far but hes not ready. How to change that with silk sheets i don't know. AJ has a future but its limited. My two cents.

Joshua ain’t no road man. He’s all about legacy.
35 may still be a relatively young age, but he’s now at the back of the queue again after the loss to Dubois.
He will need to have a few warm up fights again and rebuild his confidence.
He could be 38/39 by the time he has another world title shot. He would be well past it by then.
Besides I think too many people are overlooking Zhang and Joseph Parker.
Both of those guys deserve an opportunity against Dubois.

Dillian Whyte represents a high-risk, low-reward opponent-he's not the kind of challenge Anthony Joshua needs. In my opinion, AJ doesn't stand much chance of winning against fighters who aggressively press the action. This was first hinted at by Ruiz and definitively confirmed by Dubois. Any high-profile names he faces moving forward will likely smother his style and take him down quickly. Furthermore, I believe AJ is still reeling from the knockdowns he suffered at the hands of Ruiz; he hasn't been the same fighter since

It’s a simple fact Anthony Joshua wasn’t battle hard. If you look at his last fights there was simply selected punch bags for him to beat up on and look good so when he got his first test in Daniel Dubois he failed it was like Mike Tyson used to say everyone has a plan till they get punched in the faceand Daniel beat Anthony Joshua very much like Mike Tyson used to beat up his opponents. He didn’t just beat Anthony Joshua he bullied him intimidated him and then finished him off.

    • @SuperMillwall

You can say that all you want but Otto Wallin had an absolute war with Tyson Fury and should have got the win over him with the cut. Likewise Ngannou gave Fury all sorts of problems..
Joshua went in against Wallin and Ngannou and absolutely obliterated the pair of them.
So you can try and spin this as much as you want, the fact is these weren’t easy fights but Joshua made them easy fights.
He just had a shocking performance against Dubois, it happens in boxing. Dubois might just have Joshua’s number. Doesn’t mean Joshua has been fighting “easy touches” because he hasn’t. He lost to the better man on the night and that’s it.
