hi Trond you have again treated us to a nice video of your photo opportunities with the little forest birds. great , thanks also on behalf of my wife .❤
Amazing video 😃 gold crest, wren and the Green woodpecker! We dont have the Green woodpecker here in Finland! I did try to get the Gold crest to come to birdfeeder but hasnt been lucky yet! I think they eat just insects!
Hello from Montreal, thanks so much for sharing another wonderful video like always, I am fortunate to have the Golden and Ruby Kinglet in my area, what kind of bird is the white one? it's georgeus 🐦❤️🤗
Beautiful images as always Trond. I was out last week and and could hear Gold Crests around me but just couldn’t find them. Well done and thanks for sharing. Cheers Keith
Great video! It would be nice if you put the name of the bird with each photo. Some of us live in a different country and are not familiar with these birds. Thanks.
Almost every time I set up a blind a wren will land on the window. One time it flew in and landed on my camera body, jumped down to my arm and them back out the window.
Hey Trond, fantastic video. Beautiful pictures. I love the background blurred with the branches and creamy greens and yellow with its crest showing! It's great seeing you in the environment around you as well. I wish next Saturday was tomorrow for another video! Greg
Lovely work Trond, the Lagopus is quickly becoming one of my favourite hides. Saying that, I say the same after every productive session in a Tragopan hide!!! Keep up the great work 📷👍🏼
Great images! Over here in Nova Scotia, our Golden Crowned Kinglets look completely identical to the Goldcrest. I find Kinglets are one of the hardest birds to photograph. I was wondering if you could try to have a good session with the Black Woodpecker. They are absolutely my favorite in the Eastern hemisphere. They remind me of my favorite bird, the Pileated Woodpecker. Looking forward to your next amazing video, Kelleigh
Lovely shots as always! Goldcrests always tricky as they’re so fast! Although the Long Tailed Tits move about quickly too! Which 600mm lens are you using Trond?
Nice and interesting video Trond. You are already using the new firmware v3.0. I read in some discussion forums that the 3D focusing on the eye has gotten worse?
I've spent a lot of time trying to photograph Goldcrests. You make it look simple but it's actually difficult. They are tiny and fast moving, as soon as I've got the camera on one, it's gone. Well done wonderful video.
Absolutely loved this video, Trond. First off, I share your fondness for what we call the golden crowned kinglet here. I've only photographed one and I counted myself lucky to find it passing through our back yard. Love doing the wrens and other little birds, too. I need your help identifying a couple of the others. What kind of beautiful woodpecker was that? Did you get a still shot of it? And that little bird that was mostly white and with a beautiful white face was absolutely stunning. What is it? I was really impressed with the way that 600mm lens and the Z9 focused so quickly on those little birds and held the focus through all the twigs and limbs. Amazing. And last, but certainly not least, I'm greatly impressed with your photography and processing, Trond. Gets better with each video. Good work, man.
Thank you so much Clifton! The woodpecker was a green woodpecker. I only got video :) The white one was a Long-tailed tit. I really appreciate your kind and supportive compliments :)
Awesome video, looking into buying LAGOPUS S chair but did not see the mess cover for it? Live in a hot climate area looking for a blind for bird photography.
Great video! 👍🏻 How is that PD CF tripod supporting the set up? Do you think it safe in windy conditions? It looks flimsy although it’s rating at 22lbs
A lovely video with some amazing close up pictures of the woodland birds :) Goldcrests are definitely a difficult species to photograph, but it can be so rewarding when they stick around long enough for pictures!
I see you have used the 500mm and the 600mm FL. Would you say the 500mm is much more handholdable than the 600mm and therefore its worth to have 100mm less in the lens?
Hello Trond, your videos are always beautiful and interesting and although it's always about the same topic, it never gets boring. I hope to be able to watch cock meissen here again soon. They usually don't have a completely white head here. Apparently the head is completely white in northern regions. The goldcrest is extremely difficult to photograph. They are so quick. With the wren you have a third handsome little guy - beautifully photographed . Hilsen fra Sveits - Heini
I love the Gold rest as well. But i cant understand why you buy a Ferrari and drive it like a Skoda?? Thes quick birds need shutterspeed... An operating on ISO 2000 is like operating a Ten year old D3,???
I just love watching you produce Lovely images Trond. I was out today and encounterd a error with the Z9.Can you try this with your Z9. Using the nikon 500PF 5.6 and the FTZ adapter. Set the camera to 650 of a second and F14. Do you get a Error on the camera. I think thier mite be a bug in the firmware. My friend attached the lens to his camera and got the same error. Could you leave a reply if so. Thanks.
650 of a second ? I just tried but can only use 1/640 sec (not 1/650 sec) and got no problem. Nikon Z9 and 500mm PF with FTZ adapter 1/640 sec and f /14.
I'm fairly new to birding and photography and find it interesting that some birds with the same name look different in different countries, and some that look the same, have different names. In the U.S. we call this little guy a Golden-crowned Kinglet. His crest is like a little crown isn't it! And yes, they are hard to catch!
Hello, first of all welcome to birding, second of all while both birds are part of the Regulus family they are different species, note that the golden-crowned kinglet has a bit of an “eyebrow” making it look like a mix between a goldcrest and a firecrest (European species).
Hello Trond, Thank you for the inspiration. Lovely videos. I touch your advice in using Topaz so good. Now starting to want to do more birds. I have the camera a Z9 and am very happy with it and I have a 500mm PF that I am hoping will do. I also order the 100mm-400mm Z lens just sort of a Year ago. in fact before I thought about ordering the Z9 (That 6 weeks after ordering). I am try to choose a hide/blind but I do not want to just get the first cheep and nasty but I would not like to spend £1000's on one I just would like a good one that will do the job. Any brands you would go for or any you would miss. Thanks once more. Keep well, keep safe and do find time for yourself.
Thank you so much John! For the blinds I have used many.....but I still fall back on the quality of the blinds from Tragopan. They have different shape and prices.
I love the most, watching bird and all kind of nature being playing outside.
Thank you !
Long tailed tit? What a beautiful bird. Wow the wren . Such fast moving subjects. 👌
Yes, Long-tailed tit.

Amazing video 😃 gold crest, wren and the Green woodpecker! We dont have the Green woodpecker here in Finland! I did try to get the Gold crest to come to birdfeeder but hasnt been lucky yet! I think they eat just insects!
Thank you so much Jani! They live only on insects, and have to find food every 5-10 seconds :) So they gave a busy life indeed
Wonderfull video! I enjoyed it so much! Kind regards, Rolf

Awesome stuff Trond. I love goldcrests, they’re incredible little birds 👍

Its beautiful :) It is a Long-tailed tit.

Well done wonderful video.
Its not easy as you say. They are all over the place :) Thank you for the kind compliment.

Det var da mange fuglegodbiter i en og samme film! Ble rent misunnelig jeg! 😆Og for noen bilder du presenterer, helt fantastisk! 🙂
Tusen takk Pål! Var heldig med det ja :)

Hi Trond, fantastic video and stunning photographs 😉 What type of bird is the little white and black with dash of pink? What a stunning little bird 😲
Hi Peter! Thank you so much. The white one is a long-tailed tit :)
I love the Gold rest as well. But i cant understand why you buy a Ferrari and drive it like a Skoda?? Thes quick birds need shutterspeed... An operating on ISO 2000 is like operating a Ten year old D3,???

Thank you so much! See you got the answer :) Stunning bird.

Nikon Z9 and 500mm PF with FTZ adapter 1/640 sec and f /14.
Thank you so much for the compliment. Ohh...thats not good. I have not noticed anything myself. But have not tried with the 500 PF.
Beautiful images Trond. The 600mm is a cracking lens but soooo heavy
Thank you Nigel! Its a bit heavy :)

Hi Sir
Where are you based?
Hvidbrynet løvsanger ved 7:39 Trond. Ved ikke hvor sjælden den er i Norge, men her i Danmark ville det være et subhit:)
Den heter gjerdesmett på Norsk, og er ganske vanlig :)
