Hi Trond, I can understand your love of Shorebirds, they're a subject I find endlessly fascinating and my main focus. I was lucky enough to get a few images of a Purple Sandpiper recently, nothing super amazing but something to work from.
Some people will envy you your camera, some will envy your lens but the only thing I really envy are your knees. The very thought of climbing down slippery rocks now fills me with dread! Old age sucks, enjoy life whilst you can. Another beautiful set of images.
Wow Trond beautiful video. What I took from watching; 1. Most folks would never notice such tiny birds in those ocean edge spaces. 2. They are beautiful, intricately marked and patterned. 3. What they were feeding on is probably non existent to the naked eye and fascinating 4. On the ground is where the gold is found. Thanks!
I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll say it again…………Man I love your work 👌👌. A true inspiration for me 😊. Please don’t stop Trond. All the best, Tom Hale
What an amazing experience. I think the memory of this will stay with you for many years to come. Thank you so much for taking us along and sharing it with us. 👍
Really great video, and so exciting. I love how close you got and how the birds weren't afraid. It makes the enjoyment of the moment and photography so much more fun and special.
Thanks so much for sharing another wonderful video like always, I feel so good when I see your videos because I get the same joy of being around the birds and take beautiful images of them, keep up with the awesome content 👌👍🤗🐦❤️
Wow blimey that looks uncomfortable you need a German Army mat Trond ! But no time to waste or deploy a mat I suppose, worth the pain though ! I love your Purple Sandpiper shots 👍Not an opportunity you get everyday, so close great work Trond
Beautiful images of those lovely birds. Great to see them resting peacefully with the sound of waves in the background. I liked your sand piper imitation, dodging the waves.
Really nice footage, Trond. My first contact with these birds was on Svalbard and was wondered about the close flight distance. So interesting to see this species from the near. Will investigate, if there are also here on the coast of the baltic sea in northern part of Sweden. Greetings to Norway
Hello Trond, awesome, I can't think of anything else. You were determined to capture some photographs on this shoot and you did even when almost being swept out to sea. Great skill, hope it wasn't to long before you got warm and dry. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
great photos and video. your passion and drive for nature photography is a dot on the horizon for me and many others, and serves as an encouragement to get out there and make beautiful images. cordial greetings from the Netherlands.😇👍🙏
Fun to see how much effort you put into it and get your photos. Both in terms of perspective and light. But it is clear that this is important and therefore you also get incredibly beautiful pictures Trond. Thanks for another inspiring and great video.
I love shore birds. Here along the Great Lakes in the US, we have an abundance of them and waterfowl. Sure not the epic bears or lions lol, but there is a sense of tranquility by a large body of water and wildlife. Great video, Trond. Having a positive atitude is a major key in the joy of photography as you never are guarenteed a photo. Beautiful images, bro.
Trond, I recommend you the Spanish photographer Mario Suárez. He is an expert photographing shorebirds and has a lot of tricks for getting eye level photographs. Congrats for the video, I really appreciate your work 🙂
For those low angle shots you may want to use The Skimmer from Naurescapes. I find it easier to slide it across the ground. Stupidly expensive for what it is but.......
Trond, the quality of your work just keeps getting better and better. BUT..... have you ever heard of pneumonia. Lying around on cold wet rocks and getting washed by waves is a good way to get it!! Take care.
Hi, I have a question about purple sandpiper. I have photographed them last week here in Oslo (bygdoy). I thought one of the birds were limbing, and seeing a similar limbing in your first footage Is it a behaviour pattern of this bird?? I couldn't see one of the legs in that individual sandpiper. And also they were approachable, and I got pretty good photos and videos in the evening sun, on my d500 &500pf combo. Thanks for your videos.. cheers
Hi Trond , may I ask something , is there such a thing in Norway as birdwatching huts that are open to the public , thanks for your answer , greetings Gijs from the Netherlands , and many thanks for your movie's i appreciate
Beautiful shots! Great light! But why do you torture yourself? Why don't you wear a pair of waterproof hunter's overalls that come up to your chest and have rubber boots attached?

Brilliant 👏 but how we suffer for our joy. 👍
Vadebukse er digg til Fjæreplytt. Og bruke flippskjerm fremfor søker 🤩🙌
Now that is my type of day at the beach. Glad you were able to save the camera.

Beautiful Trond! We are having a snow storm today where I live and seeing this video is giving me hope for springtime! Nicely done!
Thanks Wayne! It is still cold here as well.....but no snowstorm :)
Superb photography. You've gained a big fan. 😊 please leave a link to the music. I love it.
For those low angle shots you may want to use The Skimmer from Naurescapes. I find it easier to slide it across the ground. Stupidly expensive for what it is but.......
Wow! Det er nok de fineste bildene av fjæreplytt som jeg noen gang har sett. Veldig fint med lav sol med nydelige farger. Klasse dette!! 🙂
Oii....tusen takk for hyggelig tilbakemelding Pål!
Trond, the quality of your work just keeps getting better and better. BUT..... have you ever heard of pneumonia. Lying around on cold wet rocks and getting washed by waves is a good way to get it!! Take care.
Wow....thanks for the kind words. No I have not....It is not everyday I lay like this....so hopefully it will be allright :)
Super photos, and that looks like a very compact tripod, can you tell maker and model ?
Thank you! It is from peak design. With carbon fiber.
Beautiful! Your video clips are so nice. When I take video, I often notice it's shaky or has uneven movement. How do you ovoid that problem?
Thank you so much Melani! The camera and lense have a good VR :) Pluss good with a tripod.

They tend to "limp" when they jump on one foot, after resting :) All waders do that. Thanks for watching and support. Good luck with your photography.
@@trondwestby❤ thanks for clarifying that..
Thanks for inspiring.
Cheers
Tron that was absolutely brilliant 👏 👌 can I ask what tripod you were using
Thank you Derric! I use the tripod from peak design, with carbon fiber.

Which lense is this?

Thank you so much! Haha....good question ;)
