    I also agree my friend that staying in one place and waiting for the particular target species is ultimate patience game but chances of success is very high because nature never disappoint you if you love with nature ❤ i personally follow the same rules

    The ringed plover that we have here in the spring is what we call at killdeer. Some call it a killdee. It looks very similar to the one you photographed so well except ours has a red eye ring. I got lucky and got a photograph of one in flight. It was like trying to photograph a bat with all the jinking and zig zagging.. Your shot of the roe deer in mid leap was a winner, Trond. That doesn't happen often. Congratulations.

    Hey Trond, i agree... staying in one place definitely gives opportunities. I have found if you try to fallow or(chase) it you end up stressing out your subject and the video or photo look less natural.
    Beautiful shots of the Plover! Good thing no one was using the road, they might have mashed you since you were using the camo! 😉 Greg

    thank you for your beautiful nature videos. it's nice to watch. We appreciate your passion, it is visible in every minute. There is a request, can you post information about what equipment you use in a given video? and the second request can you share the link to the lens support / I don't know what the name of the pillow or something similar is. thank you for the wonderful music for the film, especially this one / extraordinary harmony with the image. You take beautiful photos and videos. Don't forget about the link for a supportive lens cushion

    Hello Trond it‘s a Little ringed plover (lat. Charadrius dubius) a common species here in Slovakia on riversides, i got some great times whit this species this year with my D4 and 500 f4, i also got juvenile ones on photos for the first time which has give me much pleasure :)

    This might be a silly question, but I’ll ask anyway. 😅 A couple of times in the video you have some small pebbles inside your lens hood. I’ve seen this happen a lot with snow as well. I wonder if this is somewhat intentional? Perhaps to soften the foreground more? I know snow can gather in the lens hood when it’s falling or if you put your lens on the ground, but it seems that with pebbles this wouldn’t happen so easily.

    • @trondwestby
      @trondwestby  Год назад +1

      It is not intentional. Its is a resault of me crawling around with this heavy lense 😅

    I guess mileage varies. I find that if I move often to a place I will eventually land on surprises, but I guess that depends what you are looking for. I see people waiting hours in the same spot for rare birds and they eventually caught it for the short time it has shown. I'm not patient enough yet to do that especially if there's other people in the same spot waiting and destroying my confidence with my poor gears.

    • @trondwestby
      @trondwestby  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much! Because it was in that area when I saw it the first time.....it was feeding in that area. So the chance of it coming back where high. But nothing was for sure :) But luckily I was right :)

    the whole video made me nervous about the gravel sneaking through the lens barrel and create scratches on a lens that is valued as much as a car :p
