Hello, This is Dongmin Lim. Just an update i'm currently teaching in New Zealand. I hope you are all safe and well. Thank you Everyone for the support and nice comments. Thank you Christina for making this video.
I started in TKD as a kid and it's served me well all my life, I've trained in many styles and did MMA for 2 years, there's things I learned in TKD as an 8 year old that served me well up to this very day. But be careful, because sport TKD creates bad habits like low guard (if any guard at all) because you only kick the range is different than when you're getting punched in the head like in KB. I'd say learn ALL YOU CAN from everything. I had to unlearn TONS of bad habits, but now I'm better off
May I ask for the name of the music you used during the tutorials for the basic kicks? And also is there any tips for faster running kick (attack) 2:02 ? I'm a bit slow when it comes to that technique and it's even slower when I have to do the double. Thank you!
Awesome :) ... I was pratcice Kung-Fu and WTF Taekwondo before but now i'm training Songahm Taekwondo and our Grand Masters name is In-Ho-Lee.....!! Songahm Taekwondo is the best TKD i have pratcice in my life. I LOVE IT**********
As a tae kwon do practitioner the headgear is only providing padding for added safety. A good kick can knock you out anyway. What's the point of riding a motorcycle with a helmet when you can still get killed.
It's obvious you don't take martial arts. A well trained artist can control his strikes and also tar kwon do headgear doesn't provide the protection a bike helmet does. Why don't you go give him his neck brace and his pads as well. Maybe even level 3 body armor.
Andy a British group online posted statistics of a tar kwon helmet to a crash dummy and concluded that there was posterior linear head acceleration. The back needs to be improved but your not fighting with your back are you. You're not all safe key word "martial". Football players wear helmets too but they still get concussions. In tae your helmet decreases the chance of serious injury but doesn't completely stop it.
Like you've taken any martial arts yourself. You can't even talk without putting others down. The idea is that the guy in the vid can control his kicks at the level he is. They SHOULD be wearing headgear but they trust each other at the point they are and are at the skill level to perform the way they do with or without head gear. I don't see what's you hard to understand about that. Maybe you should get out of your moms basement once in a while and learn a few things.
In the moment this video was made taekwondo was good, but now the rules have changed and tkd is now boring, the new rules make the practitioners stand one in front of the another side guard and rising the leg all the time, no combos, no counter attacks, no nothing is a shame.
A round house and round kick are the same thing. Some arts call them different. Some schools of TKD do not even use the names "inside" or "outside" crescent kick. The same as an axe kick.
I saw he fought against as youth against 2 top players in world now from Iran team Nassrzadani and Motamed. Did he competed in some korean professional team or for some university as senior?
hello, JNTKD! I comes from China and I am focus on tkd demonstration and poomsae. I noticed that the background music at the beginning is the same as the kukkiwon demonstration team does at the beginning of their performance, May I ask you a question? What is the name of that music, or where can I download the music? Thank you very much!
You can choose to lift both hands or leave one hand at your chest level while the other blocks hits to the body. You need to be relatively fast at avoiding hits if you want to use the latter stance and in this case, this dude's fast~ :) Bro fist?
Your video style is very sleek! I like the IMPACT font on the Taekwondo Basics. The website background is sooooo sleek! Gradient feather on text bar is nice! PLEEEASE tell me where I can get that background (tiny holes) for my website! Your definitely come from korean university team..YongIn? Donga? Bantam/feather? So much good hogu drills my man. Where is your dojang location?
If you mean because of the physical training, it's gonna get easier fast. My first Kickboxing lesson was like hell, I was exhausted after the warmup tbh. But then it got easier and easier til the point when it was really fun :P Also, obviously, you get in shape
no your not...trust me the more you do it the easier it gets...been doing it 13 years and can now do moves i never thought i would be able to do. Good luck with your training :)
A second thought here: I would love to see how all these kicks with the hands all over would fare against a karateka who could kick very well and use their hands. All is well and good when sparring is done where hands are rarely used (as most TKD practitioners say is the biggest limitation).
Its to help bring out energy, its the same reason why weight lifters yell sometimes when lifting, You'd have to actually experience it yourself to really understand it.
Did you notice how fast they get their legs back after the kick? And beside that they're just fast because they have a lot of experience and trained to be fast.
@Kevin Junior Mekulu throwing shoes ;) no serious, its not for streetfighting, more sport, Olympic competition etc. Kicks are fast and strong enough for the street, for more punches i prefer ITF Traditional TKD, but WTF is more interesting ;)

Bom demais esse vídeo, encontrei depois de anos!!! Me fez voltar no tempo de quando eu fazia essa arte marcial incrível !! Bons tempos

You certainly learnt Olympic taekwondo not the traditional
Your kicks are so BEAUTIFUL
Lim is amazing. Great form & just dominates. Watch this vid all the time. Where is he now?
Yes, of course... It's a martial art and in the competition we also use punches... but kicks are more use. It's the particularity of Taekwondo.
May I ask for the name of the music you used during the tutorials for the basic kicks?

Ima start taekwondo training and this got me pumped up!
What's the title of the song?
6:55 why isn't he wearing head gear?
As a tae kwon do practitioner the headgear is only providing padding for added safety. A good kick can knock you out anyway. What's the point of riding a motorcycle with a helmet when you can still get killed.
Common sense should dictate this is a demo not a battle to the death. Duh.
It's obvious you don't take martial arts. A well trained artist can control his strikes and also tar kwon do headgear doesn't provide the protection a bike helmet does. Why don't you go give him his neck brace and his pads as well. Maybe even level 3 body armor.

The turning round house kick has other names such as a turning kick as you have to turn your body then kick
Also, this video is half right on the Olympics, too. TKD was introduced in 1988 and became an official sport in 2000
Music ????????
In the moment this video was made taekwondo was good, but now the rules have changed and tkd is now boring, the new rules make the practitioners stand one in front of the another side guard and rising the leg all the time, no combos, no counter attacks, no nothing is a shame.
+Ronindanielsimons Simpson study ITF taekwondo. It is geared towards self defense
+Ronindanielsimons Simpson what exactly has changed in the last 5 years? I read something about sensors too or w.e?
+Flovust Definitely the sensor thingy...because its super sensitive. Compared to the old school taekwondo sparring which require strong attack.
@LewHuiYing I think kong7100 want the title of the first music ... the instrumental .
Thank you for sharing. What is the song from 5:20?
@kong7100
might be wrong, but sounds like its from bigbang or something, or maybe GD-TOP
Love the credits in the end ^^
A round house and round kick are the same thing. Some arts call them different. Some schools of TKD do not even use the names "inside" or "outside" crescent kick. The same as an axe kick.
Hi there !!! do you what is this music ... kukkiwon use too this music...
so if you know that it is ...i 'll be happy !!

Very interesting video, just one question, being curious: Why are the techniques named in English and their original naming isn't used instead?
this guy has no mercy. and i like it.
I saw he fought against as youth against 2 top players in world now from Iran team Nassrzadani and Motamed. Did he competed in some korean professional team or for some university as senior?
I love the video how you made both attack and counter..
哪位朋友帮忙 找到这个视频开头的背景音乐 谢谢了
有没有朋友能帮我找到这个背景音乐,谢谢了
文综 史教练好
The worst habit here is one that boxers learn very quickly. If not they are in a world of hurt: KEEP THE HANDS UP ALWAYS!!!

I love korea and you, you are the best!

You can choose to lift both hands or leave one hand at your chest level while the other blocks hits to the body. You need to be relatively fast at avoiding hits if you want to use the latter stance and in this case, this dude's fast~ :) Bro fist?

Why music...
1:04 Bruce Lee?
If you mean because of the physical training, it's gonna get easier fast. My first Kickboxing lesson was like hell, I was exhausted after the warmup tbh. But then it got easier and easier til the point when it was really fun :P Also, obviously, you get in shape
Isn't a roundhouse kick the same as turning kick cause we don't call it turning kick
What's the music at the start?
did you find the song title at the beginning
I liked this video. very cool!
Have fun ! its such a great sport
no your not...trust me the more you do it the easier it gets...been doing it 13 years and can now do moves i never thought i would be able to do. Good luck with your training :)
2000 was first actual official olympic games. All others were demonstrations not official.

"High High" by G-Dragon and TOP.
since when that this kicks became BASIC ?
hey where in australia does this happen? was wondering which club it is, and the city. thanks
Joon No Taekwondo
Awesome sparring at the end.
is this guy in Korean National team?
lol @ video title and thumbnail contradicting each other. 'Basics' and you see some dude in mid-air performing some sort of advanced kick it seems.
what's the song in this video?
did you find the song title at the beginning
How did those kicks get so fast...
Its to help bring out energy, its the same reason why weight lifters yell sometimes when lifting, You'd have to actually experience it yourself to really understand it.
What so now I can't say anything on youtube?????
Nevermind, ignore my last comment. There's a WTF logo on a flag visible in the background at 5:12
I love tkd
Great video!
This could help me by getting back in sparring competitions..
yeah its really fun, for me at least . i think you would enjoy it :)
Big Bang is the singer.. I forgot the title..
Did you notice how fast they get their legs back after the kick? And beside that they're just fast because they have a lot of experience and trained to be fast.
That last kick was brutal!
Whats the song name?
GD&TOP "HIGH HIGH"
Thx :) The club TaeKwonDo no longer exists?
OMG....... at last, is he ok ????
this guy is AMAZING 😍
great video, but why all the weird yelling?
5:12 Why do you kick your mate to the head? :o
Next week i've got an exam for yellow belt, wish me luck :D !!! Fighting
azija, it is asia not azija
are you a south slav
Nice one....
Really, there are two basic standing kicks: the side and front kicks. All other kicks are just derivatives, and/or variations, of these two.
thank you... great!
I started taekwondo classes yesterday... Im going to die...
Are you still a tkd student?
Nice video
taekwondo is the best
Yea
SUBE MAS VIDEO
hi hwoarang ^_^ hehe , how many year's do you recomment me to train in taekwondo ? and thanks + i bet that hwoarang is proud of you hehe
Big Gigantic - Sky High
Great kicks man
Honestly I would take boxing first as that is the basis of the footwork and stances you will use in Kickboxing...just talking from experience
the first kick is a round kick not a roundhouse
great tkd kicks man
but honestly, i love TKD.
@Kevin Junior Mekulu throwing shoes ;) no serious, its not for streetfighting, more sport, Olympic competition etc. Kicks are fast and strong enough for the street, for more punches i prefer ITF Traditional TKD, but WTF is more interesting ;)
