From 16:00 onwards got me thinking, super useful technique if you're trying to design an abstract sounding alien language for some Sci-Fi film sound design.
Haven't tried it yet, but I guess if you were to put the random velocity before the arpeggiator you could have it changing samples at different rates and patterns, determined by the midi notes in the clip, rather than the rate of the arpeggiator. Could you then put another random velocity after the arpeggiator, so that each note being spat out by the velocity has a certain range of randomness, around a slower moving base velocity defined by the one at the start of the chain? I'll have to try this out, looks like so much fun. Thanks again for all of your always incredible content.
Started playing with VCV rack earlier this year, you've inspired me to give Ableton a try. Just loaded the 90 day suite trial and am planning to lock myself away for a few weeks learning. While I find your content unique and insightful, could you recommend some n00b friendly tutorials/content creators that aren't DJ bros pumping futurebass/neurobass? Much Love
I started with Sadowick production cool dude! I also recommend Yan Cooks videos, Yalcin Efe, All You Need is Live and Underdog Electronic Music School. Lastly if you are seeking a community with heaps of hidden gems, great people and creative tools I would recommend checking out the Hypnus Records Discord Run by Michael, currently we are building a community based deep techno label Aedi. I am still very much a noob but these resources gave me the push in the right direction. Happy creating!
ggggrrrrrreeeaaattTtTtTtttttttt technique tutorial. Is there any way of applying this technique to playing an effect ...i.e. a delay with filter.... to get a similar granular movement through the parameters of an effect for even more sound sculpting .... also does AL 11 Have a more modular like assignability or a matrix to route parameters ? Cheers
Ned Rush aha , I’ve only been using the LFO’s ...I’ll explore further....it’s just you made the sampler an interactive instrument... do you have any walkthroughs with making effects as interactive and instrument like. Cheers though 🍻-🍷
love all your videos man the way you use Ableton is so different from anyone I've ever seen and Ive picked up so many things Id never would have thought to mess around with. Please never stop dropping this amazing content. 🤍
Was all good until 19.30 when u summoned an eldritch

“Well, after I have a quick sip of wine.”
nice tutorial. Have you heard Acid Angel by A.G. Cook? He definitely used a technique similar to this in that song. You should check it out.
Looks like you have managed to recreate MI Clouds out of the stock plugins. Thaaank you :)

Ayo, VCV gang! VCV is my only way of being able to mess around with modulay synths without spending whole racks on a few modules...
Great
Nice tutorial ! Was wondering if you’ve ever used the sunvox DAW before and would you fancy making a video on it? All the best!
Ur the damn best
"that's basically mass hysteria" 😂
You just re-invented the KORG wavestate.
I love how in every video there's a volume misshap somewhere
