Hello Dan,
They seem to hang onto the flavor. I still think they are best right out of the field, but sometimes there's not enough time to make the jelly and syrup, and the winter time turns into the best time for that. I do freeze them so that they do not stick together. The grand girls really like eating the berries right out of the freezer. Sort of like blueberry dippin dots.
