It's such a catchy you really do forget sometimes the subtext 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah she as in Samantha herself that sometimes people wouldnt clap and she wouldnt get offended because the song is so sad and shocking that people just didnt know how to react.

I hated the song for that exact reason but its so smart. It shows that she romanticized all the abuse and thought it was love hence the love song Esq.
I love that by the Henry chorus she loses the theatrical singing and enthusiasm because she doesn’t love him and the excitement is gone, it returns with the courtier and then she’s destroyed and angry.

@@Jojo-hy8dm or like a pink ponytail extension. She puts her hair in a tight bun than puts the pink peice over and puts a spike cuff around it. That’s what I think since I used to wear ponytail extensions Like that. The extension probably covers the whole bun, so honestly wearing any color of ponytail extensions works as long as it’s in a tight bun.

Nope, this is the “as you tell me I’m the fairest of the fair” that she does every night. The option up they thought that was too much went way higher.

She did say that she sometimes did throw the option up into a show if she was feeling sassy. That is the part of the song where she does it though, that last “fairest of the fair”

@@cassandraallen4150 In this same video that is featured in the reaction. On Sam's IGTV It's day 100 of A Song A Day (or day 1, they´re both All You Wanna Do, but I think it's day 100). When she's intruducing the vid she shows us the opt up
I really love the way she rubato's that second prechorus. Every syllable of "I know this is it" is just ever-so-slightly behind the beat and it really sounds like a naive kid trying to sound confident

This is such a great number - the storytelling is superb, the lyrics are clever, and it gives the performer so much room to express themselves - if they're good enough. I think this is the first time I've seen Samantha Pauly's version, she is excellent!
I loved this song from the get-go, but I didn't GET this song until I saw it live (Sydney Opera House, almost exactly a year ago - Courtney Monsma, who is now playing Anna in Frozen The Musical in Sydney!). Everything about Six screams "This shouldn't work", but miraculously, it does. The writing, the costumes, the choreo. If it plays near you, do yourself a favour....

Sam is a QUEEN for sure. She owns it even more live. I had to look up the show name after watching her. I had no idea what she was singing, but she was rocking it! Also, thank you for the analysis. I always appreciate the arts more with these analyses; we forget how much work goes into performance!

The best thing she does is in Ex Wives when she says “K. Howard is here…” in that thin high pitched nasal. I LOVE it! She’s so good.
on "fairest of the fair" she sang it how it was written. i believe at the beginning of that video she said there used to be an option up at that lyric, but they took it out because it was too much. when she sings "but it's never, ever, differeeeent, noooo nooooooooo," that was not written. it is an extra riff that she came up with herself during callbacks and sometimes sings at shows. (she did it in this video.)

Oh man. I started working on this song today. This is the first time that I’ve tried to really since in about 10 years due to a chronic illness that affected my lungs, and WOW 😳 it was rough, but this helped me out- getting the cheat sheet now!

I thought it was 17 but either way still super young. And she married a 50 year old.

Actually, everyone in this comment is technically correct because her date of birth was either lost or wasn’t recorded. There wasn’t enough record of her life pre-employment to Anne of Cleves, and the ones that does exist were usually in relation to her arrest
She got married at 16 or 17. But she got beheaded at 18 or 19.
i used to dislike the american version of six because i live in the uk and am used to the accents but their both the west end and broadway versions are amazing like all these gals are so talented ANDD are amazing live

There is no other performance of that song. Only bootlegs and She doesn’t do bootlegs unfortunately so unless Andrea wants to perform that song fully somewhere that isn’t broadway, we might not get a reaction from her

That wasn’t the optional ending, her version that she would sometimes do was super high and instead of going up and down the tune, it just goes up
