Check the live recordings Matt! Especially All You Wanna Do by Samantha Pauly 😊 I'm a fan of Six and they have many casts around the world as well as many singers who took over the original casts just so you know. They have good vocals and chemistry in stage especially the original cast ruclips.net/video/S7mZsZw3AoE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/WJbaU4j0JCo/видео.html
I’m so glad that “All You Wanna Do” made him so uncomfortable because the opening is literally describing her being groomed as a 13 year old by one man, assaulted later on by another (gets what he wants and be won’t take no), realizing from another man she’s viewed as an object, and by the last one knowing that’s all she’ll only ever be seen as that for all her life and most of history.
Has he seen it live since this video? Because the liver version ends dramatically from the cast recording! Howard Ho did a great video on breaking it down, but where as the cast recording has this sort of pristine conclusion like a traditional pop song, in the live version K completely breaks down at the end and erratically sing-screams "Cause all you wanna do is" makes the kissing now, but instead of a satisfying release of breath, she makes a startling gasp as if to signify the last breath she took.
Personally “All you wanna do” has always been very dark. People tend to joke about it’s sexual nature when they hear it for the first few times, but it’s heartbreaking to actually think about all she went through in her life.
Yeah, it especially hits harder when you watch the sam Pauly version, all the grit and suffering that she adds to the last part of the song just makes it so much more agonizing to watch (in a good way).
100% agree! It made me really upset when it was a trending audio on tiktok back in 2019 I think. I remember people were using it show their ex and then who they moved onto when K Howard goes “tall, large Henry the 8th, supreme head of the Church of England” cause they don’t understand what this song is actually about. That’s just me being a die hard Broadway fan though and getting mad when the same people who make fun of theater nerds are using songs from musicals 🤷🏼♀️
Oh, definitely I saw six on Broadway, and after the song there was a huge silence in the room for a good couple of seconds the audience didn’t know what to do with themselves, or how to clap after what they just took and it was a lot to take in, but like Despite how emotional it was, it was also super powerful and the songs just generally good! I love how we get to dive deep in and told us what it was like for the queens, and what it was like with Henry and all the different trials and tribulations they went through, but at the end of the show, at least still came up and empowered each other and lifted them up instead of tearing each other down.
Fun fact - they sampled green sleeves because the original poem the lyrics come from was said to have been written by Henry the 8th to Anne Boleyn! Although it’s nowadays regarded as a myth. The whole musical is full of references and is basically if all the queens became a girl band during the afterlife, with each one of them being heavily inspired on 1 famous female pop artist.
@@frauleinzuckerguss1906 It's said more that there's two inspirations for each queen. This is the list I've known for years, and its in a Playbill article as well, although there could very well be errors Catherine of Aragon: Beyoncé & Shakira Anne Boleyn: Lily Allen & Avril Lavigne Jane Seymour: Adele & Sia Anna of Cleves: Rihanna & Nicki Minaj Katherine Howard: Arianna Grande & Britney Spears Catherine Parr: Alicia Keys & Emeli Sandé
Aimee's studio version of "all you wanna do" is just breathtaking with the way she hits those absolutely wild notes, but if you're interested, I'd recommend watching a live recorded version of Sam Pauly in the same role. It's the same song, but while her notes aren't always as flawless as Aimee's, the emotion she puts into it and the way she Acts Out the song is absolutely hratwrenching. It's definitely worth a watch, at least once, to really feel this song hit as hard as it can on the emotional level. Definitely recommend.
@@CaptainFizman I have looked for a Courtney Mosma bootleg for ages now. She's my favorite Howard for absolutely no reason, I have never seen her perform AYWD, just the final song. Please please if you have a video let me know.
So if you want historical context on Katherine Howard, the “All you wanna do” song, here it is: So Katherine was executed for an affair she was having with a member of Henry VIII’s court, Thomas Culpeper. She was put on trial and investigated, which is when it was discovered that she’d had sex with two other men before her marriage to Henry, which was Henry Mannox and Francis Dereham. Deeeham and Culpeper were both executed with Katherine. There’s a lot of debate on what exactly happened in Katherine’s relationship with these men, because Katherine was labeled as a whore and temptress, much in the way Anne Boleyn was, after her death by Henry and his court. It is believed that at the very least she was groomed and molested by Dereham, and there’s a decent possibility Culpeper assaulted Katherine, considering the fact that he bragged about seducing Katherine in his letters and he had a history of assaulting women. Katherine was as young as 17 when she was killed, and she met Henry when she was as young as 15 while Henry was 49. All you want to do goes into that, with Katherine describing how she was groomed and molested by these men, from a very young age, before being killed for “allowing it to happpen”. It’s a very sad song, and yes, a bop
@@dragoninsuit but the order of the songs is the order of who Henry VIII married, also it says in all u wanna do that she met Tomas Seymour and loved him, after Henry died she was free to marry Tomas
Fun fact: Katherine Howard, the character that sang All You Wanna Do is actually the youngest queen that ever married Henry the 8th, she was 19 when she was beheaded. Another fun fact: Anne Boelyn in history was said to be beheaded because she had an affair, when she really was beheaded because she didn’t have a son. Henry’s entire intention was to have a son, but both his first two wives couldn’t fulfill that. Actually in Ex Wives Jane says that she was the favorited wife, because she did have a son but a few days later she died due to birth complications.
The queens in the musical actually have their songs (and outfits) based off of pop divas. For Get down, Anna of Cleves is inspired by Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. For All You Wanna Do, Katherine Howard, is based off of Britney Spears and her clothing design is based off of Ariana Grande. For Don't Lose Ur Head, Anne Boleyn, is based off of Avril Lavigne. I think it's cool as you can really see the influence and the balance between historical leader queens and our modern day entertainment queens. All being pretty badass. Other Queens: Catherine of Aragon - Beyonce Jane Seymour - Adele, I think Sia too Catherine Parr - Alicia Keys
Boleyn is mainly based on Lily Allen. Christina's voice in the original sounds almost exactly like Lily's. Aragon is also has latin pop and salsa elements, so J-Lo and Shakira are also inspirations. Parr is also partially based on another well-known British singer, Emeli Sande.
Also Ithey always make Catherine Parr look like Alicia Keys to me. Like every actress I've seen play her could be a good doppleganger for her especially in makeup.
I found a list on Playbill that lines up with what I've been seeing other people say for the past few years as well Catherine of Aragon: Beyoncé & Shakira Anne Boleyn: Lily Allen & Avril Lavigne Jane Seymour: Adele & Sia Anna of Cleves: Rihanna & Nicki Minaj Katherine Howard: Ariana Grande & Britney Spears Catherine Parr: Alicia Keys & Emeli Sandé
You would be surprised how many tiktok sounds are from musicals. There’s another one in this musical in the song called Haus of Holbein but yeah I hope you keep reacting to this one I like most songs and the other ones have been growing on me more and more
and “tall, dark henry the 8th” which was kinda dodgy because no one realised the context of him grooming katherine and used it to describe their boyfriends and stuff
"All You Wanna Do" is my favorite song in this musical specifically BECAUSE of how it pairs the horrific things happening to Katherine Howard with her being all perky and upbeat about it....right up until she's NOT, in the last verse, and it seems to hit her exactly how bad everything has been. just SO good.
The reason the "six wives" sounds so strange is because it's using the notes of Greensleeves, even though they don't really fit into the song, showing how their relationship to Henry (which is represented by Greensleeves throughout the show) doesn't fit into their lives. However, in the end, they sing an altered version of Greensleeves that does fit the song, showing how their lives are better without him and they reclaimed their story.
8:29 it is about how Katherine Howard was always used for her body and it hints at her being groomed ( hence the words “ever since I was a child I’d make the boys go wild” and the fact she was a minor and had adults coming on to her).
Tbh when I first listened to the song, I thought she meant boys as in boys her age. Like typical school ground crushes. Realizing the harsh truth so quickly really set the tone of the song for me.
i saw six live late 2019 and it was INCREDIBLE it was quite short but honestly felt like i was at a concert more than a musical, i would highly recommend watching it live if you ever can :D
the other 5 songs (House of Holbien, Six, Don't Need Your Love, Heart Of Stone, No Way) are just as good as these ones, and heart of stone has two very high notes near the end that will blow you away
As catchy as the entire cast recoding is, I absolutely have a soft spot for "Heart of Stone". The song is heartbreaking and absolutely gorgeous. I love the lyrics and just the melancholy yet beautiful tone it gives with a soft piano.
It's funny, I actually like the slow songs the least. Like, I know they're beautiful but I just don't enjoy listening to them that much as opposed to thing like Get Down or All you wanna do
I have a soft spot for HoS because it was the one musical theatre piece my vocal coach really believed in me for. She knew I liked musical theatre and I think she could tell that I was growing bored at lessons, so she asked me to give her a list of musicals that I liked. Heart of Stone was the song she selected out of the options. I worked my ass off for some of those notes and rhythms. It's a song I didn't really view as difficult, but the experience of getting it down to the best of my ability really showed me the work and commitment it takes to learn these songs.
Heart of Stone is literally my guilty pleasure song. I love the musical for its love-letter-ness to the queens and I’m aware Jane’s character has been criticized for not getting much into who she was outside of a loving wife. I’m aware of that but I’m sorry it’s just so gut-wrenching. The character of Jane in the musical is so tragic, with the idea of a woman who continued loving and never let her spirit break despite her “true love” very clearly using her. It just… it never fails to make me cry. Especially live.
"All You Wanna Do" definitely has that effect. It's a total bop and so well written but when you examine it and the lyrics it is very gross and dark and creepy. I hate that I love it
I saw six live and it was the BEST SHOW EVER IT WAS ELECTRIFYING. Even though I’ve played SIX on repeat a million times, the way sam Pauly performed All you Wanna do made me cry
If you ever get the chance to see this live I highly recommend it. The soundtrack is incredibly "clean" but the way some of these songs hit live are amazing. Like get down is my favorite live performance but one of my least favorite on the soundtrack. It doesn't do it justice with the drops that happen in stage. highly recomend
I think that’s partly because the soundtrack has 1. Different people from live (Anne Boleyn’s west end, forgetting her name rn, has a more grungy voice and more of a rock like performance throughout the whole song while the cast recording slowly builds that up so that when she’s in her final moments she’s able to rock out as much as she wants while at the start her life was being controlled by the men in it, thus the doll like dancing)
For some reason, whenever guys react to SIX the Musical, my favorite part is always watching their souls leave their body when they listen to "All You Wanna Do." That said, I was thrilled to see you reacting to my favorite musical. I wish you could have listened to all the songs in order (and that this video was longer), but this was great to see.
If you're interested in hearing a live version of "All You Wanna Do" I cannot recommend Samantha Pauly's version enough. One of my favorite live performances of anything ever, such good vocals and the way she transmits the emotions of the song is insane. I go back to her performance every now and then, because it is that good!
HELL yes! The Hadestown official broadway cast recording is all on youtube, so the whole musical can be completely listened through (which I've done, many times)
i remember listening to "All You Wanna Do" for the first time and my face going SO red about 3 lines into the song. couldn't sit through the song the first time around cause the moment the first verse ended i had to back out and recover from the lyrics. good god do they know how to tell a story in the catchiest way possible. only problem is i physically cant bring myself to sing along because the lyrics make me so uncomfortable...
the songs and vocals hit so much harder on the live version on broadway, you should definatly do a full reaction! “All you wanna do” makes you cry in the Sam Pauly version.
Iove the detail in All You Wanna Do where Katherine switches from "maybe this is it" with Mannox to "I know this is it" with Dereham. Supposedly in history she and Dereham were actually lovers and referred to one another in letters as husband and wife which one of the reasons Henry had her executed. But that whole wife of Culpeper has no merit to it whatsoever and it was people romanticizing.
I suggest watching Millie O'Connell perform Don''t Lose Your Head! It's not a bootleg and she's my favourite Anne Boleyn ever and I love what she does with the character xx.
I love these musical reactions! More Starkid Musicals would be great if you want more things like The Guy Who Didnt Like Musicals. I'd recommend Black Friday (The second installment of TGWDLM) or The Trail To Oregon :)
ive been on a zoom class with the lady who sang all you wanna do, aimie atkinson, and she was super duper nice :D it was really fun lmao, ive also seen six twice, its amazing and funny, definitely worth seeing when its near you!!
The fact that all 6 Queens are all based on different pop singers in their style and still does them BETTER always scratches the best parts of my brain, I swear.
Ohh no… you don’t want to watch All You Wanna Do live, specially Sam Pauly’s version. It’s beyond awesome but also one of the most heartbreaking songs+acting+emotions I’ve ever seen live
"Dont loose your head." I love the double meanings in that song. I don't know which song I like best but those are def my two favorites. Recounting this two women in history is the best part though by far.
The studio recording of “All You Wanna Do” absolutely does not capture her despair in the last chorus. In the live show, she is sobbing while she sings. It’s really raw and emotional, and this recording really falls short with that. Definitely listen to the live Broadway opening night recording.
I can't stress this enough. Matthew your word choice for describing those last 2 songs was perfect. All you wanna do: "Stripping away the extra bits" expressing also what she went through; similarly, the difference in the strings and piano you heard, slamming back down into the standard choral structure, describes how strongly she thought he was different, but then it's always just the same. Don't lose your head: "Teasing me up until the end" Again, describing exactly how she acted. Always teasing, playing games, never committing, until she committed too much to others and was beheaded
Seeing you react to this made me think of someone you definitely need to take a listen to and that's Annapantsu, she has such a great range and is an amazing singer and she has covered Heart of Stone and All you Wanna Do, but she's also super famous/well known for her cover of Prince Ali and her 2018? cover of Hellfire
I personally know Samantha Pauly! She used to be my dance teacher back when she was in college at Viterbo University In Lacrosse Wisconsin! I love her so freaking much!! Sammy is my girly🥰🥰
For me, Don't Lose Your Head is my fav, and Get Down is pretty much tied. I haven't seen the musical but I have heard some songs and those two are my favs. I love the attitude in them.
Unsure if you've reacted to ride the cyclone yet, but if you haven't you should! It's like six (in consept) but insted of 6 dead wives trying to see who had the words life it's 6 dead teens competing to see who gets to come back to life. (And I heavily suggest watching the recordings of the performances insted of the album covers, *ESPECIALLY* for the ballad of jane doe)
When i first heard “All You Wanna Do” i didnt really pay attention to the lyrics, and i wasnt that big of a fan of the beat. When i went to see six live, and that performance came on, i had your *EXACT* reaction! My face was probably looking like it had seen a ghost, bc in the live performance all the other wives (supposed to be representing the men during the last part of the song 👀) were touching Howard all over and stuff. Even though i felt so uncomfortable, i couldnt look away bc of how powerful the performance and song was. It really got me to appreciate it more and its my favorite song in the soundtrack. Plus, i love K. Howard’s character 😅
When I first found six, I somehow veered to All You Wanna Do. I’d totally be up to hearing it again for the first time because it horrified me how awful Howard’s life was but also how catchy the song was.
In the live show during All You Wanna Do’s last courus the actor will like cry. It makes it so sad. And also in the live show right before the last courus of Dont Lose Your Head, the actor will stop the music and scream “OH MY GOD GUYS HE ACTUALLY WANTS TO CHOP MY HEAD OFF?!?!? *long pause* I mean…..i guess he just really liked my head” I saw six last night lmao
No Way and Haus of Holbein are my two favorites but each song is so GOOD and as some who saw it live(not with the original cast) it was really good and entertaining!
All You Wanna Do is my fav song from Six. I love his reaction because that is exactly how you should feel when listening to it. It’s gross and sad what she went through, but the song is SO CATCHY!! Luv this vid btw!
11:00 right??? when i first heard her voice i knew i was gonna like her the most. i love the way they incorporated the perfect amount of keeping it a catchy song whilst also sharing her tragic story, not making one factor cancel another. its so perfect i love it sm
I'm a little surprised you didn't do a reaction to "No Way" from this soundtrack. It has probably the most powerful vocals of the whole musical, so I think it'd be right up your alley. Really a missed opportunity there.
So many here mentioned Sam, & some said Andrea, I'd honestly recommend listening to the entire Broadway version. BUT even if you don't, you absolutely *have* to hear Brittany Mack's version of Get Down. It hits , and it's in my top 3 favorite songs in the show purely because of her. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
"Get Down" sounds really much better on stage, especially the last part. You definitely should check out Broadway cast, I think they may relies recording soon, but I may be wrong.
I can’t believe I’m seeing this a whole year later. I love the soundtrack for this musical. I was lucky enough to see this live pretty recently. It was last October for my friends birthday. And we had like the high up seats. So while you couldn’t see many details, you could see EVERYTHING. And it was amazing, great show. Edit: if you get the chance to see it live 10/10 recommend. And honestly, if possible, get close up seats, you’d probably enjoy it better up close. In the theater in my state, there’s three levels, we were on the third level. Like we took an elevator to get there bc we didn’t know where the stairs were. The stairs would go from the balcony seats up, but we took an elevator to go down to our row. I was gonna say that the music was played live at six, whereas other musicals weren’t…then I realized that the other musicals I’ve seen, they were just in the orchestra pit, because six has six actresses, there’s room on stage for their musicians to be on stage because it’s like 3 other people…don’t come at me pls.
Seeing "All ya wanna do" like the performance (the version you heard was the amazing Aimee Atkinson, you're listening to the West End version), is so heartbreaking, if you see the video of it, it tells the truth of the revolting story and is so sad and well done 😭
If you were wondering, they actually are coming to australia and new zealeand around november december this year, mostly capital cities though, although i am going to see it live and am extremely excited
You should listen to the SIX: Live on opening night soundtrack, as you get more of the emotional intensity from the songs, especially ‘All You Wanna Do’ and ‘Heart of Stone.’
I seen this show when it came to Belfast. I didn't think I cried so much at a show, I fan girl when I saw the Queens go on stage. It was how I reacted whenever I saw One Direction or Jonas Brothers. That level of excitement because I've been listening to this soundtrack all over lockdown. But the soundtrack hits different now after seeing them live. Horrible Histories was from Henry's pov, we never got to see his wives pov until this show. I felt so bad for those poor girls. To think they all fell in love with him and they thought they were going somewhere. He sleeps around but whenever they do it or fall for someone who isn't the king, they get beheaded.
I know a lot of people have said this already, but I would recommend watching Sam Pauly's version of All You Wanna Do. She's not the original, but I personally believe that her version has a lot more emotion put into it.
I got to see this musical with my mom in San Francisco, and I absolutely loved it. It's definitely one of my favorite musicals. Catherine Parr will always be my favorite
All you want to do is actually a very dark song, and there's another version of it that really tugs at the heartstrings at the end vers/chorus that you should really give a listen to, even for something other than a video.
You need to look up a live version of All You Wanna Do, it's so heartbreaking. The actress is breaking down, sing screaming the lyrics and jumping away from every touch and just brings into sharp focus that this is a child being sexually used her entire life and then being beheaded. Makes me sob every time I see it.
One of the interesting touches they did with each queen was modelled their look and sound after some modern ladies in pop: Beyonce, Lily Allen, Adelle, Rihana (I think?), Ariana Grande and Alicia Keys. I love hearing the soul in number 6 for that reason.
You should really listen to the stage version of these songs. Especially All You Wanna Do. There's so much emotion that's left out in the studio recordings it's kinda sad
One of my friend’s girlfriend is on the touring cast of Six right now she plays the character in the emerald dress. Her name is Zan Berube. I don’t know remember which sister that is unfortunately. Sidenote, one of my brother’s best friends is in the touring cast of Hadestown and he plays Worker #4. His name is Sevon Askew if you wanted to verify. They are all graduates of University of Michigan’s musical theater program as well as my brother.
Bruh you HAVE to do a part 2! You think those are good? Wait until you listen to the rest and come across "heart of stone" and "I don't need your love". Chefs kiss. Trust me. Worth it. You need to do a part 2
I thought it was interesting that you noted that "Don't Lose Your Head" had a punk sound. Each of the queens and their songs were specifically written to embody a modern music icon and Anne Boleyn is meant to take notes from Avril Lavigne. K Howard from singers like Brittney Spears and Arianna Grande (started young and were sexualized) and the original queen b embodies the literal queen b Beyoncé, etc.
As much as I like the official recorded version of SIX, the live version is just so much more real? I don't know how to describe it but it just hits different, especially "All you wanna do" Either way I'm in love with this musical and I can't stop listening to it :D
almost everyone has said it but i’m gonna say it again you should watch Samantha Pauly’s All You Wanna Do. ON ANOTHER NOTE, Brittany Mack’s Get Down IS SO SO SO GOOD. Like its impossible not to get hyped at her performance. I recommend watching her version too 😌
I cannot tell you how amazing this is live! They are doing a movie of the original cast (like they did with Hamilton) (which everyone probably knows anyway), and I will be glued to it!
I only actually discovered SIX a few days ago lol, and I’m already obsessed. I was on a school trip with my friend and she sis do need to listen cause we’re going to see it in September, and I put on my headphones, and as soon as I heard the first ‘LIVE’ in ExWives I was in shock. I listened to all the songs and that’s all I’ve been listening to for the last 4 days lol. All of them together are just SO amazing! I love it
I would definitely recommend doing a second part and checking out the other songs. Heart of Stone, particularly, is stunning, and Natalie May Paris's whistle notes make me shiver every time. No Way is also a complete bop and Renée Lamb is a fucking powerhouse. I Don't Need Your Love and Six are really good conclusions, and Izuka Hoyle brings a really beautiful soulful sound to her song.
Everyone here is recommending Sam Pauly, and I will too. Her performance always drives me to tears. I don't think there is a legal recording, but you should be able to find her cover on her RUclips channel (thou it's not as powerful as on stage).

So if you want historical context on Katherine Howard, the “All you wanna do” song, here it is:
So Katherine was executed for an affair she was having with a member of Henry VIII’s court, Thomas Culpeper.
And this is why we protest the patriarchal nature of current culture.
Not to take away from anything, but her name is spelled Catherine, they just spell it Katherine in Six: The Musical
Catherine Howard’s song was “get down”, also Catherine Parr wasn’t killed, she survived
@@Poo4life Catherine Howard’s song is “All You Wanna Do”, Anne of Cleves sings “Get Down”
@@dragoninsuit but the order of the songs is the order of who Henry VIII married, also it says in all u wanna do that she met Tomas Seymour and loved him, after Henry died she was free to marry Tomas
And the only reason Jane was Henry's favourite was cuz she died to early for him to get bored
Other Queens:
Catherine of Aragon - Beyonce
Jane Seymour - Adele, I think Sia too
Catherine Parr - Alicia Keys
Boleyn is mainly based on Lily Allen. Christina's voice in the original sounds almost exactly like Lily's. Aragon is also has latin pop and salsa elements, so J-Lo and Shakira are also inspirations. Parr is also partially based on another well-known British singer, Emeli Sande.
Aragon is based off JLo and Shakira
Also Ithey always make Catherine Parr look like Alicia Keys to me. Like every actress I've seen play her could be a good doppleganger for her especially in makeup.
I found a list on Playbill that lines up with what I've been seeing other people say for the past few years as well
Catherine of Aragon: Beyoncé & Shakira
Anne Boleyn: Lily Allen & Avril Lavigne
Jane Seymour: Adele & Sia
Anna of Cleves: Rihanna & Nicki Minaj
Katherine Howard: Ariana Grande & Britney Spears
Catherine Parr: Alicia Keys & Emeli Sandé
Ohhh I never realised this but that is so cool!
You would be surprised how many tiktok sounds are from musicals. There’s another one in this musical in the song called Haus of Holbein but yeah I hope you keep reacting to this one I like most songs and the other ones have been growing on me more and more
this^
and Get Down too! I heard that so much on tiktok
“No one wants a waist over, nine inches”
and “tall, dark henry the 8th” which was kinda dodgy because no one realised the context of him grooming katherine and used it to describe their boyfriends and stuff
@@libbyf51 Wait seriously??? lol, they must really hate their BFs if they're comparing them to Henry VIII
Same
The reason the "six wives" sounds so strange is because it's using the notes of Greensleeves, even though they don't really fit into the song, showing how their relationship to Henry (which is represented by Greensleeves throughout the show) doesn't fit into their lives.
Realizing the harsh truth so quickly really set the tone of the song for me.
i saw six live late 2019 and it was INCREDIBLE
it was quite short but honestly felt like i was at a concert more than a musical, i would highly recommend watching it live if you ever can :D
Honestly, he should be able to, six the musical is in Australia right now. I saw it a few weeks back at the Sydney Opera House!
I'm seeing it May 14th! So excited! And seeing this comment just makes me more excited for it!

the other 5 songs (House of Holbien, Six, Don't Need Your Love, Heart Of Stone, No Way) are just as good as these ones, and heart of stone has two very high notes near the end that will blow you away
Is that the truthfully riff and climax?
And the US version also has Megasix.
Like, I know they're beautiful but I just don't enjoy listening to them that much as opposed to thing like Get Down or All you wanna do
@@frauleinzuckerguss1906 honestly I don’t like Get Done that much😂
I have a soft spot for HoS because it was the one musical theatre piece my vocal coach really believed in me for.
420th like yooooooo
In the live version of All You Wanna Do, the singer actually breaks down sobbing and adds a much more emotional impact
i went to see the musical last month and when she started singing "All you wanna do" i genuinely started crying because i relate to it so much.
Oh no! *Virtual hug*
"All You Wanna Do" definitely has that effect. It's a total bop and so well written but when you examine it and the lyrics it is very gross and dark and creepy. I hate that I love it
I saw six live and it was the BEST SHOW EVER IT WAS ELECTRIFYING. Even though I’ve played SIX on repeat a million times, the way sam Pauly performed All you Wanna do made me cry
same! i had only heard the cast recording before i saw the broadway cast live and was blown away by the emotional sam put into all you wanna do
loving all the musicals content!! Be More Chill would also be a good musical to listen to if you haven't before!!
Yesss I love Be More Chill!
YES OMG P L E A S E but my suggestion is listen to the original cast album, not the Broadway Cast Album. (My personal opinion)
omg YESSSS
YES
Omggg YES I’d love to see his reaction to so big/so small
@@lukaseldenrust2637 Sorry, what do you mean? Did they have a different cast recording than actual cast?
@@thelifeofme5221 for some yes, but K. Howard and Jane Seymour were still the same (not sure about the rest)
don't lose your head is WAY different live, especially that final chorus.
For some reason, whenever guys react to SIX the Musical, my favorite part is always watching their souls leave their body when they listen to "All You Wanna Do."
That said, I was thrilled to see you reacting to my favorite musical.
I would definitely recommend Hadestown if you want to continue with musicals! I saw it a few weeks ago and can't stop listening to it
Heck yes!
Millie is great, loved her in Be More Chill too.
@@rachaelkilpatrick9774 Yesss Millie is like my favourite person in the whole world she's such a talented performerrrr xx
Andrea Macasset as Anne Boleyn was rlly good too!
@@jilliandesjarlais5544 yeah I like her too! my personal fav is millie but shes good too :)
I love these musical reactions! More Starkid Musicals would be great if you want more things like The Guy Who Didnt Like Musicals. I'd recommend Black Friday (The second installment of TGWDLM) or The Trail To Oregon :)
The thing with All You Wanna Do
IT'S SO CATCHY BUT YOU FEEL GUILTY FOR LIKING IT
my musical loving ass doesn't need to know what happens, it has SIX in it, and the last musical I've been listening to. 10/10.
“All you wanna do” is actually so much more emotional and has a lot more emotion put into it live 😂
ive been on a zoom class with the lady who sang all you wanna do, aimie atkinson, and she was super duper nice :D it was really fun lmao, ive also seen six twice, its amazing and funny, definitely worth seeing when its near you!!
damn what kind of zoom classes are you taking, sign me up 😫

Oooh yes I love her
You should def check out Andrea's rendition of Dont lose Ur head! She's Broadway's Anne Boleynn and brings a nice little something to the vocals!
I definitely recommend the live version for both Get Down and All You Wanna Do. They hit harder and have SO much emotion (especially the end of AYWD).
I personally know Samantha Pauly! She used to be my dance teacher back when she was in college at Viterbo University In Lacrosse Wisconsin! I love her so freaking much!! Sammy is my girly🥰🥰
SO MUCH of Six has become tiktok sound and I always love people realizing it XD
For me, Don't Lose Your Head is my fav, and Get Down is pretty much tied. I haven't seen the musical but I have heard some songs and those two are my favs. I love the attitude in them.
You have to listen Sam Paulie's version of All You Wanna Do. The emotions in that version are just so good!
HOLY SHIT NOW I DESPERATELY NEED HIM TO REACT TO THE BALLED OF JANE DOEEE!!!
It took a year but he finally did
When i first heard “All You Wanna Do” i didnt really pay attention to the lyrics, and i wasnt that big of a fan of the beat.
The broadway cast recording is live from their opening night and you get so much emotion with it, especially Sam Pauly's All You Wanna Do
all you wanna do is so uncomfortable to jam to but its SO GOOD
When I first found six, I somehow veered to All You Wanna Do.
*long pause* I mean…..i guess he just really liked my head”
I saw six last night lmao
You should check out Sam Pauly singing this...she was part of the Broadway cast and legit made me cry with the emotion she brought to the song
You need to watch “all you wanna do is” live the emotion she brings to the song is amazing
You need to make a part 2! This musical is wayyyy too good
Personally i really love ”heart of stone” its really good!
But Yeah, ”all you wanna do” has some great notes
Seeing "All ya wanna do" like the performance (the version you heard was the amazing Aimee Atkinson, you're listening to the West End version), is so heartbreaking, if you see the video of it, it tells the truth of the revolting story and is so sad and well done 😭
you gotta watch "All you wanna do" in the performance of the show itself, the amount of emotion she conveys to it is phenomenal
PLEASE listen to Sam Pauly sing All You Wanna Do live, her performance is so emotional at the end it's honestly devastating
If you were wondering, they actually are coming to australia and new zealeand around november december this year, mostly capital cities though, although i am going to see it live and am extremely excited
Okay but like WE NEED a part two before I rlly want you to listen to “I don’t need your love “ it SLAPs
Those are literally my three favorite songs of the album: Get down, All you want do, and don’t lose your head; I feel blessed to get them all in one.
I was gonna request this on the next vid you upload but I guess I don't have to ask now
actually i just read ur mind
You should listen to the SIX: Live on opening night soundtrack, as you get more of the emotional intensity from the songs, especially ‘All You Wanna Do’ and ‘Heart of Stone.’
You should listen to Hadestown!! Its such an amazing musical, the music is stunning and the story is based around greek mythology!
Them using green sleeves was creative because I’m pretty sure it was written by king Henry the 8th or he had someone write it smth like that
Six was actually doing an Aus/NZ tour in mid 2020 but it got canceled (for obvious reason) i had tickets but i have no idea when they'd be coming back
There are plans to come back later this year (2022) melbourne or Sydney
You need to look up a live version of All You Wanna Do, it's so heartbreaking. The actress is breaking down, sing screaming the lyrics and jumping away from every touch and just brings into sharp focus that this is a child being sexually used her entire life and then being beheaded. Makes me sob every time I see it.
One of the interesting touches they did with each queen was modelled their look and sound after some modern ladies in pop: Beyonce, Lily Allen, Adelle, Rihana (I think?), Ariana Grande and Alicia Keys. I love hearing the soul in number 6 for that reason.
My favorite songs are “Don’t Lose Your Head” and “All you wanna do”, and I think we agree on that.
I don't know how to describe it but it just hits different, especially "All you wanna do"
Either way I'm in love with this musical and I can't stop listening to it :D
If you watch it live, the harmonies just hit different, they give you chills every time it’s litterally amazing
oh my GOD this musical completely skipped my mind but it's one of if not my favorite musical of all time, im so happy you've done this
almost everyone has said it but i’m gonna say it again you should watch Samantha Pauly’s All You Wanna Do.
Where will it be available cos i will also be glued lmao
@edencarroll468 not a clue, they've filmed it but not announced anything else
Oh ok thanks anyway i didnt know they were filming it
Movie with the original cast??! I'm sold!!
YOU SHOULD DEFINITLY LISTEN TO ALL YOU WANNA DO LIVE but the American one HER VOCALS ARE SO VULNERABLE AND GOOD ❤️🤌
I only actually discovered SIX a few days ago lol, and I’m already obsessed.
What’s brilliant is that during this show the band is on stage with them and during the show you really get to show appreciation for them
Everyone here is recommending Sam Pauly, and I will too. Her performance always drives me to tears. I don't think there is a legal recording, but you should be able to find her cover on her RUclips channel (thou it's not as powerful as on stage).
1:52 A lot from six has been used as TikTok sounds
You should still do a part 2 with the 3 other queens even if their songs arent as popular (plus the last song is such a good song to end with)
SIX is in Australia this year
If you enjoyed this All You Wanna Do, check out Sam Pauly's version! She hits all the notes and her acting is unmatched, the ending is phenomenal.
