Also yeah, Kathrine Howard had a horrifying life. She essentially grew up in a glorified brothel. She married Henry when she was around 17 and he was in his 40's. He ended up killing her because she wasn't a virgin which was completely out of her control.

Poor Katherine Howard died at 19. Didn’t even reach her twenties. Plus, she died in such a horrible way. She was also cousins with Anne Boleyn who, years earlier, met the same fate as her. Also, Katherine was beheaded because she committed adultery with one man, but Henry was allowed to have many mistresses. She was also reported to have spent the night before her execution practicing placing her head on the chopping block. And it’s not like she had a great life before that...
Edit: her exact age isn’t confirmed, but it is widely believed that she was about 19 at the time of the beheading

Katara Lynn her executioner was not skilled, but he did not hit her back, as the myth suggests. Historical accounts usually have very graphic descriptions when a beheading goes wrong, and there's no mention of the sword hitting her back when she was executed. It is probable that it was painful, however, because as I said, the executioner was not skilled.

one of the best performance is the broadway version, that is with the American accent, Samantha Pauly was fantastic on role, and the act performance is very different from the official version. if you haven't seen it, I recommend it.

this song was always my favourite from six but i didn’t realise the full impact of the song until seeing it live. at the end katherine howard is practically screaming and all the other girls are all trying to grab out and touch her. i genuinely started crying the performance made me rethink the song entirely (that may just be down to jodie steeles phenomenal performance i saw tho 😂)

I could literally write an entire dissertation on how incredible this song is and when you see the show live the choreo only adds to it! It starts out young and playful because she was at 13 when this grown as man is putting moves on her. She was groomed to be this way which is common for sexual abuse victims. Then she goes to live with her aunt and is again approached by a man who “wont take no”! This is the only kind of attention she’s gotten from men and thus thinks it’s positive. When she meets Henry she’s not disillusioned anymore and then she FINALLY thinks she made a friend and was like wow I didn’t know guys could be like this! Then he takes advantage of her too and she gets killed for it. The staging is amazing because the other queens slowly get closer and closer to K Howard during the song and you get this intense claustrophobic feeling it’s beautiful. It’s SUPPOSED to make you uncomfortable. Incredible piece of art!

The 'ah' in the 'different' I would think comes from the Cockney accent from the original UK version of the song.

my name is reginald george ‘British’ can mean English, Scottish, Welsh etc. Cockney also falls under ‘British’ since it’s from England.
there are also accents from different parts of these countries, I'm English and from the midlands, my voice would be very different from someone from the extreme South, for example 😊
@@whispering_echo heya, I'm English too and the original actress from the cast album is singing with a slight Cockney accent in that song (or let's go with common South London accent which has it's roots in Cockney - maybe Cockney was too strong a descriptor). That flattens the vowels a bit and gives the 'oh' sound a more 'ah' sound. It would make sense then that anyone trying to mimic the original version would sound a bit like that. :)

Totally! It’s so weird to me that she chose to listen to an unprofessional cover of it. Don’t know who Annapatsu is, this is okay but the Aimie and Sam Pauly versions blow this one entirely out of the water. This girls high notes sound a little unsupported and some of the melody was sung incorrectly

A lot of coverists change the melody at certain parts, it’s not about lack of skill: it’s about adding twists to an already known song. And what if her high notes were a bit unsupported? She’s an alto and clearly hitting those high notes already speaks of her years of practice

I love this song, and it's particularly hard to sing (imo) because it changes in tone very quickly (it's very fun and flirty in the beginning, and really sad and painful in the end), and of course there's a lot of belting and high notes. I love annapantsu's rendition of this!

React to Anna’s “It’s tough to be a god” cover! It’s a collab with Elsie Lovelock, and it’s catchy as hell. Its pretty different from “All you wanna do” and I really think you’d like it! And you’d get to talk about two very different singers in the same song.
(Also Elsie in that song is a pretty good example of singing with an accent if you’d find that interesting. She does have a British accent but in that song she’s mimicking a thicker accent that’s deeper and pretty different from hers.)

also I read the description, and Six is actually a British musical! it was supposed to make its broadway debut the day bway shut down. its so crazy that it only took around 4 years to go from a small theatre festival to Broadway. it was literally written as a uni project!

I really hope she reacts to a live performance of Six or something sometime, she’d understand the actually terrible and depressing concept behind the song. As a survivor of different types of sexual assault, this song struck me the second I heard it and is still to this day one of my favorite musical songs ever. Super impactful and relatable and shows real history behind a horrible King.
This video got me obsessed with SIX so thank you for that. I frickin love that musical now, but I'd never heard of it until I stumbled on this video.

I love how much emotion Anna puts into her songs, and along with her amazing voice she’s a really good voice actor. She even added her own twist to this song. I think her critics are very fair and your are such a lovely person! Defiantly subscribing, can’t wait to see what you and Anna will do!

You should do Anna’s cover of Prince Ali! Or if you’re not looking to do Disney then she also does Heart of Stone from SIX as well that I actually prefer to the original! Though all of her covers are gorgeous so really you can’t go wrong!
I would def reccomend Annapantsu's cover of 'Someone Gets Hurt' from Mean Girls, that song still gives me chills, she killed it.

Would love to see you reacting to Aimee Atkinson (ordinal west end k Howard) because she is so talented and it sounds different in a British accent and live! and/or the whole west end cast singing as they all have such amazing voices and it’s such a mix.
I HIGHLY suggest looking into more of Anna’s work! She’s incredibly talented - some suggestions would be “No Good Deed” from Wicked, “Hellfire” from Hunchback, and “She Used to be Mine” from Waitress! I feel as though those are some of the most expressive covers she’s done that really amplify her range! :)

Okay so I could rant for ages about Anna and about this song because I love them both but for real listen to this and the studio version of the original, compare and contrast the end. I love the changes Anna made to make it more harmonious for her voice, it sounds amazing and so much better than if she'd just tried to copy the original tone for tone.
