Actually interesting enough in the Latin chorus when Frollo says "it's not my fault" and "I'm not to blame" the chorus actually is relying to him in Latin "It is your fault" and when he says "I'm not to blame" they reply back again with "you are to blame"
Not sure if anyone knew that, but I discovered that on a different video of this song with the chorus translated😄
It just adds to how well-crafted this song and the story is.
It makes you feel such powerful emotions.
Frollo is probably the scariest Disney villain because there are actually people like him out there.

It shows how corrupt people can be without realizing it and thinking that they are following what they believe when in reality they are going against everything they believe. Frollo is supposed to be very important to the church and he thinks he is so righteous but in reality he is nothing like how someone in that position should be.

As a HUGE Hunchback of Notre Dame fan (both musical and movie), the fact that anna could pull off the storytelling so well through this song is amazing because this is the core of the entire climax of Frollo and makes the rest of the story very dark and heartstopping. I think for a man and woman is it a very hard song to do because of the emotional engagement it requires. 10/10! I would love if you react to 'What you mean to me' from Finding Neverland with Matthew Morrison because is so lovable and it is a very underrated musical (although it shouldn't be).
It's one of my favorite musicals! I would love to see a reaction on it.

It tells a whole new story and is really interesting and beautiful. Basically it explores the question, what if Frollo was a young nun struggling with her sexuality.

I love Annapantsu! She's really talented, and you can hear how much she's grown as a vocalist over the years.

Anna does amazing work all around. I wish I could say what my favorite is, but I can't. They're all SO GOOD!!! It's Tough to be a God is one of her more recent as of the past few months and I like listening to that, like, constantly. That and the Schuyler Sisters, my favorite Hamilton song, which she has two videos for, one as a collab with three other singers and another where she does ALL parts (on her channel @annapants2 ).

I think that you would really like Starry the Musical. It’s a new musical (just got its demo album earlier this year!) and it’s about Vincent Van Goph. The harmonies are all super pretty and full and there’s so many great singers that they have. Dylan Saunders (best known for his Starkid stuff - at least to my knowledge - and I think you would really like Starkid singers too) sings a great Vincent and brings the role to life. Threshold of Eternity with Mariah Rose Faith and Joe Viba is so pretty, although The Road is probably the best for a reaction video if you want to focus on Dylan Saunders and his iconic belt

I would love to see you react to Elsie Lovelock's covers! Anna and Elsie have always been the joint peak of cover artists to me, and Elsie has this amazing ability to make her voice sound completely different for different characters.
I strongly recommend her "Mine Mine Mine", "A Girl Worth Fighting For", or "Playing With The Big Boys".
Anna and Elsie also recently covered "It's Tough To Be A God" together, and it's so fire.

In the movie this song is right after Quasimodo’s Heaven’s Light were Quasimodo sings about how he is falling in love with Esmeralda because she saw him, the person he is and not the idea which everyone else is seeing him through (the ugly, the monster). So for hellfire to follow that song it just highlights how Frollo is Obsessed with the idea of Esmeralda , it even that he is obsessed with HIS idea of who she is as a seductive woman. This is definitely not a kids movie ( it gave me nightmares as a child) but as an adult I think part this is so well done and so precise and smart!
Both of them don’t actually see Esmeralda , they are not even trying to, but even then (and even as a child) you can see how Frollo vison of her is sick and wrong while Quasimodo’s vision of her is naive and innocent.
Personally I love Anna first cover of Hell’s Fire more (I think I listened to it at least 1000 times and I can listen to it for a 1000 more happily) so I recommend listening to that cover. and as a lot of people commented listen to her cover of Aladdin’s Prince Ali it’s really good as well.

Great analysis, great cover. I feel like the one thing I'm missing is some of the emotion of the original, because Annapantsu definitely has some great moments of anger, but I'd like to hear some of the fear and franticness of the original. Like the opening bit, Frollo is meant to be terified of these feelings he has, he's barginning, "it's not my fault, it's this evil temptress! I don't understand her" and then it moves on to anger because Frollo is angry at Esmerelda, but first he's also angry at himself and he's redirecting those feelings. So it'd be great if she could start with a bit of that franticness and then build up to the bigger power notes instead of starting off so strong.
I guess that what I'm getting at is that this works super well for a one-off cover, but I'd like to hear more of the character in the song, right?
Just went off to watch Caleb Hyles's cover and I feel like that's a good example of what I'm kind-of getting at, like it doesn't sound as nice but it hits the character beats way better. Might be interesting for this channel to look at it, too, just to see what Hannah Bayles would say about it.
