Yeah, and when Ozzy started out alone in 1980, it was his new bass player who wrote his "solo" music. Thank Bob Daisley for most of the stuff from his first couple/few albums.

I'm currently reading his new book. By the way, don't forget about Bob Daisley on Black Sabbath "Eternal Idol" and Ozzy "No Rest for the Wicked" He wrote most of the lyrics on those albums as well. Bullshit. Ozzy does not have any claim to the name black sabbath... he was the first one out. Tony, Geezer and Bill have produced more Sabbath albums without Ozzy than with him!
Morally, Ozzy had no claim to the name Black Sabbath, but Iommi was the sole owner and he gave half the name to the Osbournes because Sharon demanded that in order for the reunion of the original line-up to take place in the late 90s. Tony knew that, even with only half ownership, he’d make more money than ever off the reunion and he certainly did. That’s why the Dio line-up with Vinnie Appice on drums was called Heaven & Hell afterwards. Sharon wouldn’t allow Tony (or anyone) to do anything under the name Black Sabbath without Ozzy.

If three original members participate in the band it can be called Black Sabbath the agreement was reached out of court between Tony and Ozzy. Jake doesnt want revenge or have some sort of vendetta against the osbournes. As a matter of fact he says they can keep all the publishing, he just wants his name on the album next to the songs he wrote. I think he accepts what happened, but looks back in disappointment over how badly they fukked him over.

Tony wrote the riffs, Ozzy wrote the melody lines. I think Ozzy's silly antics for the last few decades have tarnished the bands legacy but Ozzy is as much a part of the classic Sabbath sound as any of the members.
While Ozzy’s contributions (his unique voice and signature vocal melodies) can’t be discounted when it comes to the original Black Sabbath, there’s much more to Sabbath than the Ozzy era. While some people refuse to recognize anything without Ozzy as Sabbath or anything without Ozzy or Dio as Sabbath, the band made a damn good record with Ian Gillan and four damn good ones with Tony Martin. There’s also a decent one with Glenn Hughes on vocals. They’re all Black Sabbath albums, whether anyone likes it or not, including me. To my ears, the true Sabbath sound comes from the combination of Iommi’s guitar and Geezer’s bass. Those are the two key ingredients. When you hear it, you think, “There it is!” Many bands have tried to replicate it, but none has succeeded. You’re not gonna out-Sabbath those two guys.

I have to say he would’ve probably drank himself to death and been the forgotten former lead vocalist of Black Sabbath if it wasn’t for Sharon. The authentic Sabbath signature sound comes from Iommi’s guitar AND Geezer’s bass. Tony made some good records without Geezer, but they don’t sound like Sabbath.

An even more disgusting example is the $700 fee per show that was paid to Dave Lombardo of Slayer.
I guess the only way musicians get paid properly is if they are considered an equal partner in the band otherwise they are just an employee.

They all played a part in the bands original success however Iommi was the sound of the band, it was his riffs along with Geezer's lyrics during that classic era that sealed the foundations of their success. Iommi and Butler should really have owned it together.

Ozzy was impressed? They were absolutely pioneers, Geezer was the bassist/lyricist and Ozzy had an ad looking for a gig.
Butler was playing bass, there’s vocals, guitar, drums, bass, it isn’t hard.

When they (Sabbath), were getting ready to do that last big tour... they (Ozzy & Tony) offered Bill Ward $500k total to do the tour. Not that, that money is light but.... Ozzy & Tony got like $20 million EACH. Bill Ward said fu*k off on principle. I highy doubt they gave the stand in on drums that same $500k.

It’s always greed isn’t it. Each member is only famous because of the band dynamics. Black Sabbath is why they are famous. If it wasn’t for the band, they might all still be working in a factory. Ozzie on his own couldn’t have toured America if it hadn’t been for Black Sabbath. They should be sharing everything equally. But when gold is flashed before your face, you have a decision to make between loyalty and morals and selfishness. Greed always spoils everything.
