I noticed you used NVENC for recording but x264 for streaming. Any particular reason why? I’ve been experiencing lag with the x264 and thought maybe switching to NVENC might help.
When you have the performance, that's the best combo. Nvenc looks better than X264 at high bitrates whereas X264 looks better than Nvenc at low bitrates. && X264 is much harder to drive for high res/bitrate recordings. If you're struggling w/ X264, I'd start by raising the CPU Usage preset and if still having trouble, nvenc is fine.
Hi Chris. As a twitch no-partner, you may consider that some people may don't have the connection requirements to watch your stream at 6000 bitrates or more. Having trouble with the part "The smaller a bowl you put your water into the higher the water and image quality is." I think you mean the narrower your bowl the higher your image quality but that would mean your resolution is less. If you mean the smaller your bowl is but just as wide, although shallower it is, the less bitrate or quality you will have. In the end you want as wide of a bowl as possible and as deep as you can go. [The lower resolution you choose the better your video can look for lower bitrates. Think of quality like filling a bowl with water. The width of the bowl is resolution, the height of the water is your image quality per bitrates, The smaller a bowl you put your water into the higher the water and image quality is. However is you play games with a lot of text you may want to focus on 1280 x 720 or 1920x 1080 if you can push higher bit rates that will make the text sharper.]

Why does crf look better than cbr at UltraFast CPU preset?
CRF is a quality target and will always look better than CBR which should never be used for recording
@@EposVox Very short straight forward and helpful reply, thank you. Now I know which one to use for quality in the future. You earned a new fan!
Glad to help!

If you understood what I meant there's quite literally no reason to be pedantic about it
