We visit Cooper's Hill in Gloucestershire for the annual cheese rolling event in our camper van conversion. Before reaching Gloucester we go somewhere else just as cheesy: Cheddar Gorge in Somerset #ExtremeSports #VanLifeUK

PEA PESTO
Play around with the recipe to suit your tastes, as we are in a camper we make it simple, like this:
1 and half cups Garden Peas
1 Tsp Chopped Garlic
2 Bunches/Handfuls Basil (supermarket packets)
Juice of One Lemon
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
Handful of Grated Vegan Cheese
Salt n Pepper
Blitz in the blender and you are good to go! Serve with sundried tomatoes, all mixed into pasta

I was born and raised in Gloucestershire. Have been to the Cheese Rolling a couple of times, frightened the life out of me just watching. Not sure if the people taking part should be praised for their bravery or committed to the nearest Funny Farm.

I just listened to a podcast about the importance of play, for all life, for life. If that makes sense lol in other words studies have shown that even venomous snakes play. That's what I see in this vlog. Human beings at play. Absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤🎉

I'm Australian and was at the same event and can see myself in some of your footage! Interesting to get a different perspective of the race from your side of the hill - I was with the media team behind the blue hay bales, so all my shots were taken up the hill and tbh I think you had better positions. Great video coverage of the races.
I was interviewed by the BBC and asked for my thoughts on the safety of the race - hard to know what to say as it obviously has risks associated with it, but it would be a shame to kill off such an amazing and exhilarating event. I'll have to go back through my photos and see if I have any sots of you both!

I'm good! Unfortunately I broke my leg during the race. I live in Canada and had to have surgery immediately when I got home. I now have a plate with 8 screws in my leg. However, I wouldn't change a thing. It was one the most amazing experience in my life!

I saw this highlighted on a news programme couple years back, prob pre covid, a young woman won it a few years in a row and she had broken so many bones over the years. Great to watch , not for the faint hearted. Enjoyed video guys. Take care. Michelle.

I am a vegetarian and I love cavery because they serve a variety of vegetables. It is difficult to get a variety of vegetables in most eateries.

TT on the Isle of Man is the craziest event in my opinion. Nothing is as insane as the drivers that zoom through the villages and roads there.

Well, Australians are just the same.. i have done pumpkin rolling competitions in my time, but the hill was not as steep as that one. Love it.

Ahhh I haven't seen Cheddar Gorge since I went on holiday with my Primary School. Those beefy Rugby players were so caring how they caught everyone at the bottom of the cheeseroll! 😊❤

I've seen this before on You Tube. It's truly mental. Scary yet exciting to watch. I was worried you were going to try it! A friend of my brothers did it (years ago) and he dislocated his shoulder - well actually no he didn't it was a 20 stone man landing on top of him. He still described it as fun though.
And then there's the Atherstone Ball Game. Played on Shrove Tuesday in Atherstone Warwickshire, has one rule only - killing is not permitted!

Excellent episode. We live close to Coopers Hill and often walk the Cotswold Way which runs along the top of the hill; when you look over the edge it really gives you the heebie-jeebies! Well done in showing just how bonkers an event it is 😂
