These guys came out with a 'hit' in 1976 called, 'Sara smile', and I've been a big fan ever since! How do know when guys like this are really good? Crossover appeal! And I'm here to tell you, the black community embraced, and loved these guys, and the women too. All love and respect for these brothers.
You can never go wrong with Hall and Oats. I seen them and they are still great in concert.
Of all artists, I have followed H& O for the longest, since 1973. Such beautiful music....
Nice! Love those high notes Daryl hits at the end. there. If you want some reaction suggestions for Hall and Oates, you can't go wrong with "Sara Smile" and "She's Gone". Those are songs before the 80's but their best in my opinion.

These guys were the top pop selling duo of all time. Hall and Oates alongside with zz top and dire straits were the first artists to begin MTV's popularity in the 80s.
I literally grew up listening to Hall & Oates. There style was called by some as "The Philly Sound" since they were from Philadelphia. Take care, Dani.......
And at 75 he can still sing. You should look up " Live From Daryls House". He entertains new artists like Jason Mraz and they trade songs and sing each other's songs. You should see Jimmy Wayne sing his signature song " Sara Smile". His house band is terrific. And then he will reach back and grab the likes of Smoky Robinson, Cee Lo Green, Joe Walsh, ZZ Top, The O'Jays, Incredible talent showcased at his house or club. Just an amazing and prolific artist. And his partner John Oates is no slacker either.

Brilliant songwriter, his songs get better every year as New song writers seem to fall short of his quality.
It took a guy to write this since many female singers just don't seem that comfortable expressing such things, even back in those days. Unless it was just the "let's have sex" kind of lyrics/song, which was also prevalent back then. But this was much more subtle and respectful, as opposed to just some Madonna type singing about this which would have been entirely different to say the least.
Welcome to the 80's and 90's.......i was about your age when this was released.......you have missed so much amazing music. I hope you enjoy your Journey.....maybe try say it is'nt so by the same artists..... I play one on one on my Bass Guitar.......luv it
